Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 659: Chapter 482: His Script

Zhou Yun returned to her room, and Yin Linglin had already gone back to her seat.

The earlier dispute seemed to have been shelved, and everyone continued onward.

As for the unresolved issues, they would eventually be handled.

Such as asking the screenwriter to refine the details and provide a conclusive direction.

After reading the script with everyone, Zhou Yun gained a deeper understanding.

She packed up her script and prepared to leave.

Suddenly, Yao Yuanfeng approached her and said, ”Xiao Yun, wait a moment.”

Zhou Yun looked at Yao Yuanfeng with confusion, ”President Yao, what’s the matter?”

Yao Yuanfeng said, ”There’s something I’d like to discuss with you.”

Zhou Yun, unaware of what it was, nodded and followed Yao Yuanfeng to a next-door room.

Yao Yuanfeng pulled out a chair for Zhou Yun to sit, and then sat down himself on another chair.

Such a serious matter? Zhou Yun straightened her posture but did not sit rigidly.

She asked, ”President Yao, is there something you wanted to tell me?”

Yao Yuanfeng said, ”I have had a screenplay for three to four years that I have always wanted to produce, but have not yet done so. The reason is simple, I always felt that making a movie out of it would not be profitable, and it would certainly lose money with no market appeal. But personally, I really like this screenplay, and I want you to take a look.”

Zhou Yun was a bit surprised.

She asked, ”Do you want me to act in it, President Yao?”

”Um,” Yao Yuanfeng nodded, ”Well, I know that the movie is highly unlikely to bring in much box office revenue, but if it is never made, it would continuously bother me.”

”I understand, I’ll take it back and have a look,” Zhou Yun said. ”Actually, President Yao, your words surprise me. New Shield is such a large company, and surely not every production is profitable, right? If you really love this screenplay and want to produce it, even if the investment is small, it could still be made, right?”

Yao Yuanfeng smiled lightly and shook his head, ”If it were written by someone else, there would be no harm in doing so, but for this one, I wrote it myself.”

Zhou Yun stared at Yao Yuanfeng in surprise.

Yao Yuanfeng wrote his own screenplay?

This revelation admittedly surprised Zhou Yun.

She had always only seen Yao Yuanfeng as a film production company’s boss, with extensive industry experience, also a powerful figure that many actors hoped to get close to.

But Zhou Yun had not expected that Yao Yuanfeng would also write screenplays.

”President Yao, this...” Zhou Yun suddenly realized that this screenplay might not be that appealing.

Yao Yuanfeng had treasured his screenplay for so long, and had yet to make it, but now bringing it out...

Yao Yuanfeng seemed to understand Zhou Yun’s concerns, and said, ”It’s okay, if after reading the screenplay you do not want to act in it, just tell me directly, I just wanted you to take a look.”

”Uh?”

”You are a very special actress, all actors are trying to make their characters more enriched, you, on the other hand, would rather cut out all the unnecessary scenes.” Yao Yuanfeng said, ”I think, if one day someone can truly understand the woman in this screenplay that I wrote, it might be you. Honestly, even though I wrote the characters and the story, I still don’t understand this character’s every move. I can logically and from her actions give many explanations, but I still do not understand her, I don’t know if you can understand what I mean.”

Zhou Yun cautiously asked, ”President Yao, what is the screenplay about...”

”Just don’t ask me anything, read the screenplay first,” Yao Yuanfeng said, ”There’s no hurry, whenever you finish reading it, and when you want to discuss it, then find me.”

He smiled at Zhou Yun, handed her the screenplay, then turned and left the room.

Zhou Yun looked at the screenplay in her hand, slightly stunned.

After a while, Zheng Xiaojue and Liu Yun came looking for her.

”Sister Xiao Yun, why aren’t you coming out? Everyone has left,” Zheng Xiaojue said.

Zhou Yun, as if just waking from a dream, came back to reality, smiled and said, ”I was thinking about some things, sorry to keep you waiting, let’s go, shall we have dinner together?”

Zheng Xiaojue shook her head and said, ”Sister Xiao Yun, I’m not eating, I have plans tonight.”

”Plans?” Zhou Yun was a bit surprised, ”A boyfriend?”

”Where would I get a boyfriend from? I’m single,” Zheng Xiaojue said, ”It’s an assignment from Sister Lan, there’s a negotiation with a collaborator tonight, Sister Lan has taken me many times before, this time she wants me to go alone, saying it’s a test for me to see what I can achieve on my own.”

Only then did Zhou Yun notice that Zheng Xiaojue wasn’t dressed casually like usual, but was wearing black pencil slacks, a small brown blazer, and a light brown shirt underneath, which made her look much more capable.

”Wow, good luck,” Zhou Yun encouraged Zheng Xiaojue, ”Bring back more revenue for me!”

Zheng Xiaojue nodded very seriously, ”I will! Sister Lan said, if I negotiate the cooperation independently, I can get a commission! My motivation is very high!”

Zhou Yun laughed heartily, ”Then you must send me a red envelope if it’s successful.”

”Sister Xiao Yun, you’re so outrageous, I’m clearly working for you, and you’re asking me to send you a red envelope.”

”I want I want I want,” Zhou Yun playfully teased Zheng Xiaojue.

Zheng Xiaojue rolled her eyes.

”Sister Xiao Yun, your coquettish behavior really isn’t convincing.”

Liu Yun covered her mouth and laughed at the side.

After dinner, Cao Jun drove Zhou Yun home.

Zhou Yun, after washing up, sat cross-legged on the sofa reading the screenplay Yao Yuanfeng gave her.

The screenplay is titled ”Under the Moonlight.”

She read it carefully from beginning to end.

It was entirely a story about two people.

A boy and a girl. The boy was poor, the girl was beautiful. During their dating years, they were both very young, the boy wanted to earn a better life for them both, striving hard, the girl tenderly took care of him, cheered him on, and they faced many setbacks, difficulties, and even nearly lost everything. The girl never left him, until one day, her father fell seriously ill and was hospitalized, she couldn’t stay by his side anymore, needed to care for her father, the couple started to communicate through phones, seeing less of each other. But he believed that one day, the two of them would live together again, as long as they both ran towards the same direction. Later, she told him she wanted to break up, he didn’t understand, asked why, went to find her. She said she felt guilty for her past impulsiveness, her father was seriously ill, yet she couldn’t find the best hospital for him.

At this point, Zhou Yun thought that whatever Yao Yuanfeng said about fearing the film wouldn’t make a profit or sell tickets, was nonsense.
