Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 660: Chapter 483: Waves of Emotion

The girl eventually broke up with the boy, and the boy couldn’t stop it. He hated her, blaming her for ultimately leaving him. Finally, one day, he successfully established his own company and earned his first pot of gold. He messaged her, asking if she regretted it? She didn’t reply. When he went to find her, he discovered she was already married and had a child, and neighbors said her husband had abandoned her. He ran to ask her, did she regret it? The girl—no, already a woman—smiled at him and said, ”Congratulations.”

He suddenly cried. He asked her if they could get back together. She said, sorry.

Why? he asked.

We broke up a long time ago, and I already have my own child now. She said.

...

This is a screenplay written by Yao Yuanfeng.

From beginning to end, the story is told from the boy’s perspective.

When he gave her the screenplay, he said, if there was anyone in the world who could truly understand her in the screenplay, it was most likely her.

Zhou Yun wondered, what couldn’t Yao Yuanfeng understand?

Was it that he couldn’t understand why the girl wanted to break up with him, or why she refused to get back together with him?

He was successful now, capable of supporting them, so why not?

After reading the screenplay, Zhou Yun somewhat understood.

To be honest, if you say that the screenplay is wonderfully written or artistically valuable, perhaps not. It’s just an ordinary, even somewhat cliché love story, but... the entire screenplay is like a memoir, filled with genuine emotions, sincere memories. Zhou Yun bet that this was Yao Yuanfeng’s own story; otherwise, it wouldn’t have been written so touchingly.

But this is a fractured, incomplete screenplay.

Zhou Yun thought, the screenplay was still missing her perspective, her story.

After Song Chi came back, she talked to him about it.

Song Chi was somewhat surprised and asked, ”Yao Yuanfeng wrote the screenplay himself?”

”Yes,” Zhou Yun nodded, ”Surprised, right? I was surprised too, but he wrote it with genuine feelings, just a simple story, but in the end, it made my heart feel a bit sour.”

Song Chi asked, ”Can I take a look at the screenplay?”

Zhou Yun said, ”I’ll ask him first.”

Yao Yuanfeng said it was okay.

Song Chi then took it to read.

Zhou Yun went to warm up some milk for herself and read some of John Le Carre’s ”The Spy Who Came in from the Cold” for a while. After Song Chi finished reading the screenplay, he came into the room and said, ”I’ve finished.”

”How was it?”

Song Chi smiled a bit and said, ”Honestly, if you were acting, I’d want to act too.”

Zhou Yun looked at him somewhat surprised.

”I haven’t acted in a romance film for a long time, and, this story really moved me,” Song Chi said, ”It’s not that the romance between the two people moved me, but the sense of life’s regret, I really like the story’s sense of regret. There’s no grand happy ending, no forced melodrama.”

Zhou Yun smiled and nodded, saying, ”I feel the same way.”

”It’s really unexpected that President Yao would write such a screenplay.”

”Strictly speaking, it’s not really him writing it, all the stories that happened, the dialogues produced, are memories from the past,” Zhou Yun said, ”That’s why it’s said, he really doesn’t understand why she in the screenplay would do that.”

Song Chi asked, ”Do you understand?”

Zhou Yun shook her head, ”There are too many interpretations.”

”How do you plan to act it?” Song Chi asked.

Zhou Yun said, ”According to my interpretation.”

That night, the two of them talked continuously about ”Under the Moonlight,” and also talked a lot about other topics.

Until bedtime, Song Chi then said, ”This time at Cannes, I’ll accompany you.”

”Ah? Really?” Zhou Yun asked in surprise.

Song Chi nodded, saying, ”Mr. Bridge invited me to be a jury member in the ’A Certain Look’ section.”

Zhou Yun’s expression became even more surprised.

”Ah? That’s amazing!” Zhou Yun cried out in surprise and hugged Song Chi, happily saying, ”God, you’re too amazing! To be invited as a jury member!”

Song Chi grinned brightly.

”Has this news been announced yet?” Zhou Yun suddenly thought of something and asked.

Song Chi said, ”No, it hasn’t been announced yet.”

Zhou Yun: ”Then we need to keep it a secret for now, but, once this news is released, everyone will definitely be very proud.”

”Yeah, I think so too,” Song Chi said with a smile, ”In the past two years I’ve filmed quite a few mainstream films; I’ve already received many calls from seniors reminding me not to always film these kind of task-driven movies. They still hope that we can really take Chinese-language films to countries around the world, not just in our own country. This time being a jury member, they should be happy about it. I don’t know why, but in recent years, there are fewer and fewer Chinese cinema people appearing on the global cinema stage; we will continue to work hard and let more outstanding cinema people step up.”

”Indeed!” Zhou Yun nodded vigorously.

She couldn’t accurately describe her feelings at the moment with words.

It was a feeling of both pride and honor, a feeling filled with boundless passion.

Her emotions surged, making it hard for her to fall asleep immediately.

...

The next day, Zhou Yun had to go to the company for the production meeting of ”Under the Grand Dress.”

As soon as Zheng Xiaowen saw her, she said, ”Xiao Yun, I’ve saved you the latest design that hasn’t been exposed yet for this Cannes red carpet. When do you have time to come over and pick one?”

Zhou Yun said okay.

”But, Sister Xiaowen, for this red carpet I will wear VX, for other occasions, I have other ideas, and won’t be wearing VX; I’m letting you know in advance,” Zhou Yun said, ”It’s not that I don’t want to wear VX, but there are other work collaborations I need to coordinate with other partners.”

Zheng Xiaowen was momentarily stunned and then smiled, saying, ”As long as you wear VX on the red carpet, what more can I say? You’ve already given me the best.”

Zhou Yun hugged Zheng Xiaowen, saying, ”Thank you, Sister Xiaowen, for understanding.”

”This time going to Cannes, I will also be going, and then I will help you secure the most prominent fashion magazine, keeping the most visible interview spot for you,” Zheng Xiaowen said, ”You’re really impressive, just last year you went to Venice and now you’re heading straight to Cannes unceasingly, keep it up, put in more effort, I’m negotiating with European partners to get your title to the global spokesperson position, of course, they favor Hollywood female celebrities more, I understand, but I will try my best to push you forward.”
