Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 687: Chapter 491: Back and Forth, Part 3

If there were no filming, she would have postponed all other work that could be delayed.

But filming was different.

She couldn’t just abandon a film halfway through; it wasn’t just about her dreams and aspirations, but also about her sense of responsibility and professional ethics.

If she walked away now, the production team would face severe losses; they would have to recast and reshoot.

Zhou Yun couldn’t do such a thing, and Song Chi definitely wouldn’t want to see her do it for his sake.

Zhou Yun thought to herself that no matter what, she had to finish filming this movie, and then postpone any upcoming work that could be postponed.

Zhou Yun composed a message to Zhou Lan, telling her to cancel all subsequent engagements.

At this time, Zhou Lan had already gone to sleep and didn’t respond.

Zhou Yun then thought, if she could negotiate with the production team to shoot her scenes earlier, that would be ideal.

But she didn’t know if that was possible.

Even finishing a day earlier would be good; she could go back to accompany Song Chi a day sooner.

Such thoughts churned incessantly in Zhou Yun’s mind, until her consciousness slowly faded, and she drifted off to sleep.

...

”Sister Xiao Yun, Sister Xiao Yun,” Zhou Yun heard Zheng Xiaojue calling her name.

She opened her eyes in a daze, feeling incredibly exhausted, as if her arms were too heavy to lift. She was still in a state of confusion, as though her body hadn’t fully woken up even though she was conscious.

”Xiaoju,” she called out softly.

”We’re at the hotel, you can go up and rest now,” said Zheng Xiaojue.

Zhou Yun felt as if her bones were falling apart.

”What time is it?” she asked quietly.

Zheng Xiaojue replied, ”It’s 5:30.”

”I’ll just sleep in the car. Once I go up, I’ll have to come down again in no time; it’s too painful,” said Zhou Yun softly.

Her eyes closed once more.

Zheng Xiaojue hesitated for a moment but then agreed.

”You go get some sleep,” she heard Zheng Xiaojue telling Cao Jun, ”I’ll stay here and watch. Give me the car keys, and later I’ll take Sister Xiao Yun to the set with the production’s car.”

”Do I not need to keep you company here? I can take a nap in the car too, and if the production team hasn’t sent a message, they might not have arranged transportation. I’ll take you to the set later,” Cao Jun offered.

Zheng Xiaojue replied, ”It’s okay, I’ll talk to the transport team. You go get some rest. What if Sister Xiao Yun wants to go see Brother Chi in Shanghai later tonight? We’ll still need you.”

After thinking it over, Cao Jun agreed, ”I haven’t turned the car off, and the air conditioning is running. Otherwise, it would be too cold for you to sleep like this. Remember to turn it off later.”

”Okay,” Zheng Xiaojue nodded.

Cao Jun went to sleep.

Zheng Xiaojue turned to look at Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun’s pale face was etched with fatigue.

Zheng Xiaojue was worried.

Zhou Yun was about to go through another round of intensive filming, and Zheng Xiaojue was concerned whether Zhou Yun could keep up with the demands.

But just then, Zheng Xiaojue suddenly heard some rustling noises from outside the car. She was startled, turned her head to look, and saw a figure passing by their car.

This was the hotel parking lot. Who would be passing through here at this time?

Zheng Xiaojue furrowed her brows in confusion and carefully watched the figure, recognizing who it was.

It was Meng Ran.

Her?

Zheng Xiaojue was taken aback, and soon, she saw another figure.

It was Liu Zhikun, who was currently filming the same movie with Zhou Yun.

Why were these two here?

Zheng Xiaojue watched as they walked toward a more secluded corner.

...

”You weren’t seen, were you?” Meng Ran met with Liu Zhikun and looked around cautiously to make sure no one was there before whispering the question.

Liu Zhikun embraced Meng Ran with a smile saying, ”Of course not.”

He wrapped his arms around Meng Ran’s waist and leaned in to kiss her lips.

Meng Ran seemed embarrassed, twisting her body slightly.

But Liu Zhikun was aggressive in his advances, his intentions clear. Soon, Meng Ran stopped resisting.

”It would be terrible if we were discovered!” Meng Ran whispered to Liu Zhikun.

Liu Zhikun’s smile held a hint of mischievousness. He said, ”Who would discover us at this hour?”

Meng Ran: ”I want to be with you openly and honestly.”

Liu Zhikun replied, ”There will definitely come a day.”

His gaze was intense as he looked at her, ”Trust me.”

...

”Ah?!” Zheng Xiaojue inside the car suddenly let out a soft exclamation because she saw a third figure.
