Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 670: Chapter 486: In a Certain Sense_2

Zheng Xiaojue nodded and agreed: ”Meng Ran is indeed too skinny, like a skeleton spirit. It’s quite scary to look at.”

Zhou Yun’s gaze shifted to the cookies in Zheng Xiaojue’s hand and said, ”Have you been eating a bit too much recently? I always see you snacking.”

Zheng Xiaojue’s face had gotten rounder.

She looked like she was caught red-handed, stuck out her tongue and said, ”It’s fine for me, I don’t have to be on camera anyway.”

”Of course, it’s no problem if you’re not on camera, but I’m afraid you won’t be able to control yourself and you’ll get fatter,” Zhou Yun said. ”A little flesh is quite cute, but being too fat isn’t good for your health, and it’ll be very difficult to lose weight later on.”

Zheng Xiaojue hummed in agreement, nodding, ”I’ll try to restrain myself.”

Actually, the reason Zheng Xiaojue had been eating more and more recently was because she was under a lot of stress.

Once people are under great stress, they tend to eat more.

...

In the evening, Zhou Yun and Zheng Xiaojue went out for dinner together.

There were still many fans squatting outside the hotel.

Among them were Zhou Yun’s fans.

When Zhou Yun appeared, her group of fans immediately raised their light boards excitedly, calling her name.

Zhou Yun said to them, ”You should head back early. Why hang around here?”

A young girl said, ”If we wait here, we can see you often.”

Zhou Yun, feeling helpless, said, ”Seeing me often doesn’t mean much.”

”But seeing you is important!” the young girl said persistently, ”Sister Xiao Yun, you are so beautiful! You’re my goddess.”

Zhou Yun: ”Thank you for your affection, but I hope you’ll pay more attention to my work.”

”I’ve watched them, watched them all, Sister Xiao Yun. I’ve seen every show of yours, and ’Heart Inquiry’ I’m on my third rewatch now.”

”You should watch my shows, but do focus on your own life,” Zhou Yun told the girl. ”It’s such a waste of time to wait outside the hotel just to see me.”

The young girl said with a grievance, ”But I don’t have anything else to do.”

Zhou Yun asked in surprise, ”Aren’t you attending school?”

The girl said, ”I am, but my grades are very poor. My homeroom teacher has even advised me not to take the college entrance exam to avoid dragging down the school’s admission rate.”

”Are you a senior now?”

”Junior,” the girl said. ”Today is Saturday, we don’t have class, so I came.”

”Then there’s still plenty of time, isn’t there? How can you give up on the college entrance exam now?” Zhou Yun said. ”Give it your best effort, and perhaps you could get into a good college.”

”I can’t pass it, I know I’m not cut out for studying,” the girl said gloomily.

Zhou Yun stopped and looked at her earnestly, saying, ”There are indeed people with higher talents in this world, but that doesn’t mean those without high talents can’t make it. Hard work is rewarded, and if you don’t try, how will you know you can’t do it?”

The girl didn’t seem to expect Zhou Yun to speak so seriously about this issue, and was a bit stunned, stammering, and after a while, said: ”But I get sleepy as soon as I start reading.”

”If reading makes you sleepy, then stand up and read.”

”Standing up doesn’t help either. The content from the book just goes through my mind without leaving an impression. I can spend half an hour trying to memorize a poem and still not get it.”

”Are you really trying to memorize, or just reading it over and over without thinking?” Zhou Yun said. ”Maybe you could try memorizing it line by line. Read a line, close the book, recite it, once you’ve got one line down, read the next, and then recite the first two together. Memory is something that can be trained.”

The young girl was dumbfounded.

She probably never expected that her celebrity chase would lead to the equivalent of a ”dean of discipline.”

”Keep it up.” Zhou Yun smiled at her, ”Work hard at studying, spend time on yourself.”

The young girl mumbled an acknowledgment.

Zhou Yun waved to her fans, saying, ”Don’t follow me anymore, go have dinner, and then head home. Don’t come tomorrow.”

Her fans paused in disappointment.

At nine o’clock in the evening, Zheng Xiaojue suddenly posted a screenshot in the group chat, a screenshot from Weibo.

She said in the group: Sister Xiao Yun, someone recorded the conversation you had with fans when we went out to dinner tonight and posted it online.

Zhou Yun clicked on the screenshot, and the person who posted on Weibo said: Let me show you how hypocritical Zhou Yun is, preaching for fans to go home and urging them to study well.
