Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 674: Chapter 488: Thank You, President Yao

Zhou Yun’s sword clanged to the ground.

”Sister Xiao Yun!” Zheng Xiaojue exclaimed in alarm, immediately rushing over.

Not just her, but others rushed forward as well.

Zhou Yun’s face turned deathly pale in an instant. Her right hand, which was struck during the scuffle, seemed to have lost all sensation in two fingers; yet, there was an intense pain, akin to having one’s marrow extracted, spreading throughout her body along the nerves.

”How is it? Call a doctor, quick, call a doctor!”

Because this was an action film shoot, New Shield had specifically hired an in-house doctor skilled in falls and bruises for just this type of situation.

The doctor hurried over and examined Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun tried hard to endure the pain, holding back her tears without crying out.

But anyone looking at her swollen fingers could feel how painful it was.

Two fingers were completely swollen, one finger bulging twice its normal size, red and swollen, looking particularly frightening.

Fortunately, it wasn’t serious.

However, Zhou Yun won’t be able to continue shooting for the time being.

Zheng Xiaojue helped Zhou Yun to rest in the RV parked to the side.

Zhou Yun sat in the vehicle, taking quite a while to catch her breath.

”Sister Xiao Yun, do you want the doctor to come and apply some ointment for you?” Zheng Xiaojue asked.

Zhou Yun shook her head and said, ”I’ve just had it applied. But it really hurts, it’s numbing.”

Zheng Xiaojue took out her phone and said, ”Sister Xiao Yun, can I take a photo? I’ll send it to Sister Lan; she asked me to take one.”

”Sure.”

Zheng Xiaojue took a photo and sent it to Zhou Lan.

In no time, Song Chi’s call came in.

”You’re injured?” Zhou Yun could tell Song Chi was trying his best to keep his voice from sounding too anxious.

”News travels fast, huh.” Zhou Yun laughed, ”How did you get the news so quickly? Who told you?”

”Zhou Lan told me. How bad is your injury? Where are you hurt?” Song Chi asked. ”Did you go to the hospital?”

”Just a minor injury. I got hit in the fingers during the action scene. Don’t worry, nothing’s broken, just a bit painful. The doctor has applied some ointment already,” Zhou Yun explained. ”Sister Lan told you I was injured, but didn’t she say where exactly?”

Song Chi replied, ”I was afraid you didn’t tell her the truth.”

”Why wouldn’t I tell her the truth? There were so many people watching when I got hurt. It really isn’t anything serious, don’t worry. It is a bit painful, but I was quite fortunate; it only hit my two fingers. If it had hit the back of my hand, then I probably wouldn’t be able to use this hand at all, and would need to rest it for at least ten days to half a month,” Zhou Yun said. ”Sigh, I was injured quite a bit during the shooting of ’Two Tigers’ before. I guess getting hurt during action movies is inevitable, quite normal. Don’t be nervous, I was psychologically prepared for this before I started filming.”

Song Chi said, ”Next time, try to do fewer action scenes.”

”Come on now, if I don’t do action scenes, what would I do when it comes to movies like ’Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ or ’Wonder Woman’?” Zhou Yun responded. ”You’re so fussy. Weren’t you too injured a lot while filming ’Heart Inquiry’? Don’t think I don’t know about it. You were trying to keep it hidden and didn’t want me to find out, did you? How did that scar on your left shoulder come about?”

Song Chi: ”...How did you know that the scar on my left shoulder was from filming ’Heart Inquiry’?”

Zhou Yun snorted lightly: ”Hmph, I won’t tell you, just keep in mind that you can’t have any little secrets from me. I just choose not to mention them.”

Song Chi: ”Anyway, I can’t win against you.”

”Ah, really, I’m fine. Don’t overreact because I got hurt,” Zhou Yun said. ”I won’t talk more now, I’ve got to see the director in a bit.”

”Just rest for a while. Why go see the director right after getting injured?”

”I just want to ask if he still intends to shoot my scenes. If not, I might as well go back to the hotel,” Zhou Yun replied. ”It’s also boring just staying in this RV.”

”You’re injured; why would he shoot your scenes today? Rest for a few days,” Song Chi said. ”Heal your fingers first.”

”Mr. Song, don’t let your feelings for me cloud your judgment. If I stopped shooting because of a finger injury, we would never finish this movie, not even by next year,” Zhou Yun said bluntly. ”I’ve got to go, bye.”

After hanging up the phone, Zhou Yun saw Zheng Xiaojue looking at her with an indescribable expression.

”What’s wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?”

Zheng Xiaojue pursed her lips, shook her head, and said, ”It’s nothing.”
