Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 665: Chapter 485: Four Assassins

Someone said: Come on, if you saw your boyfriend sitting and having coffee with another woman, could you accept it?

Someone said: If it’s a colleague or a friend I already know, what’s there not to accept? Even if I feel uncomfortable, I wouldn’t make trouble over it. What I can’t accept are intimate gestures between them, and I can’t accept them going out for coffee behind my back.

Someone said: See, you admit you’d feel uncomfortable.

Someone said: There’s plenty in this world that can make you uncomfortable. Having a boyfriend can bring tons of uncomfortable things; just because I feel uncomfortable, does that mean I can demand they stop doing it? If I’m uncomfortable with how close he is with his sister, can I make him sever their sibling relationship?

Someone said: Aren’t you being unreasonable?

Someone said: How am I unreasonable? This is my stance. If it bothers you, find someone who also cares about this to date. The boyfriends themselves haven’t spoken up, and here you all are, sticking your noses in it.

Song Chi appeared below this comment and gave it a like.

Song Chi would be lying if he said it didn’t bother him. However, he also knew that Zhou Yun was doing her best to be thorough. Whenever she had a meeting, she would tell him in advance whom she was going to meet. If she had to meet with other men, or had matters to discuss face to face, Zhou Yun would bring along Zheng Xiaojue, Cao Jun, or Liu Yun to ensure a third person was present. In situations like a chance meeting in a bookstore, could Zhou Yun have told Gu Huaichun, ”Sorry, it’s just the two of us right now, please don’t talk to me”? Any normal adult, especially one with a job, can’t avoid situations where they have to communicate with the opposite gender. Some have more interactions, others less, the key is to maintain boundaries.

Therefore, even though Zhou Yun in fact had relatively close male friends such as Gu Huaichun and Wei Heyun, Song Chi didn’t really mind that much.

Zhou Yun’s actions were very open and natural; she would either bring him along to meet these friends or invite other friends to join them, and she never hid anything from him.

Song Chi also knew that in this circle, temptations abound, and Zhou Yun had a team. If she truly wanted to hide something, she had the power to keep a secret; she had plenty of excuses to stand her ground, but she never did.

Under her influence, Song Chi did the same.

If he were to meet with other actresses, he’d arrange for his assistant to be present, avoiding any chance to be alone.

If the topics weren’t suitable for others to hear, they’d arrange to meet in public places, like coffee shops.

The two had been together for a long time and had never fought or become angry over any jealousy issues, which was closely related to their conscientious behavior.

The couple spent more time apart than together, but they would call at least once each day and wish each other good night before sleep. If they were filming or working outside, staying in hotels, they would video call from time to time.

Not to prove anything, but to give each other a sense of security.

This was their tacit understanding; they never made any explicit agreements but both acted accordingly.

Song Chi thought that this was good.

No matter what, this was a matter between the two of them. As long as there were no problems between them, it didn’t matter if the world outside was in turmoil.

They had to remain unaffected by the external environment, which was an essential lesson for them in this industry.

During yet another script reading for ”Four Killers,” Zhou Yun attended as promised.

Sure enough, the issue that had caused an argument between He Xuran and Yin Linglin last time had been resolved.

The director and screenwriter devised a plot where the characters of both actors had reasons that were justifiable from their own perspectives but were based on misunderstandings, thus neither character had moral flaws or personality defects.

Zhou Yun wasn’t entirely satisfied with these changes; everybody has flaws, even characters in dramas.

A character without flaws seems unreal and prevents people from genuinely liking them.
