Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 669: Chapter 486: In a Sense

”Mmm, thank you, Sister Xiao Yun.” Meng Ran tilts her little face up, her smile especially sweet.

”Sister Xiao Yun, how is Gu Huaichun?” she suddenly asks.

”Huh? Why are you suddenly asking me about him?” Zhou Yun asks.

Meng Ran says, ”Aren’t you good friends with him, Sister Xiao Yun? I’m currently filming with him, but he seems really fierce, and he’s so aloof, hardly talks to me, always sitting by himself once the scenes are done.”

”Have you guys never interacted off-set?” Zhou Yun asks in surprise.

Meng Ran shakes her head and says, ”My agent told me that his love life is quite messy and advised me not to get too close to him. Plus, he seems temperamental, so I don’t dare to initiate conversation.”

Zhou Yun is both amused and dismayed.

”He has a bad temper... that’s true, but he’s not a bad person, just tough on the outside but soft inside,” Zhou Yun says. ”Also, he’s very demanding when it comes to acting. When I was filming ’Eighth Heartbeat’ with him, the script was a sweet idol drama that wasn’t very realistic. But he was very serious and dedicated. As long as you act seriously, he won’t genuinely dislike you.”

Meng Ran immediately sighs in despair.

”But my acting is so bad, I always NG, and it affects him because he has to redo the scenes with me,” she says. ”He must really hate me.”

Zhou Yun thinks, that’s possible.

Of course, she can’t say that to Meng Ran.

Meng Ran, worried, rests her chin on her hands, saying, ”Sister Xiao Yun, does Gu Huaichun like anything specific? Maybe I can buy him something he likes as a gift. Would that change his impression of me?”

Zhou Yun thinks, probably not.

Gu Huaichun doesn’t seem like the type who’d be easily swayed by gifts.

”I don’t know what he likes.”

”Then I’ll go ask him,” Meng Ran suddenly seems to muster up courage. ”We can’t keep not talking. Otherwise, we’ll still be strangers after finishing a whole movie.”

Zhou Yun can’t help but laugh.

In fact, many actors remain strangers after shooting a film.

Not every collaboration brings the actors closer.

Co-acting in a movie, in some sense, is just like working with colleagues.

But it’s indeed rare for the main male and female leads to remain strangers after a movie.

”Xiao Ran, don’t tell me you think he’s handsome and have a little crush on him,” Zhou Yun ventures.

Meng Ran shakes her head, saying, ”Not at all, and I also don’t think he’s that handsome.”

Zhou Yun looks at her with some surprise.

Meng Ran sticks out her tongue, saying, ”I prefer the type like Liu Zhikun.”

Liu Zhikun?

Zhou Yun recalls Xu Caisheng, who was previously two-timing Meng Ran and Liu Yuqian, as being similar to Liu Zhikun—both the pretty-boy type.

Alright, compared to them, Gu Huaichun definitely has a rougher, more rugged appeal, a bit sharp, not so gentle.

”Even if he’s not your type, I’d still warn you, his company really keeps a tight leash on him, you really shouldn’t fall for him.”

Not only does the company keep a tight leash, but he’s also a playboy, never seen committing to anyone.

Meng Ran’s cheeks flush slightly, ”I won’t.”

Meng Ran leaves Zhou Yun’s room.

Her agent, seeing her return, puts down her phone and asks: ”Why did you talk with Zhou Yun for so long? You usually aren’t that close to her.”

Meng Ran says, ”It’s because we haven’t seen each other in so long, so we had a lot to catch up on. Sister Xiao Yun really takes care of me, shared a lot with me.”

Agent: ”Staying on good terms with her is good, but don’t forget, silly girl, to watch your words. Remember what to say and what not to say, don’t make others get fed up with you.”

”I know.”

Meng Ran says, ”I’m going to take a nap.”

”You sleep.”

Zhou Yun sends Meng Ran off, unfurls her yoga mat, and prepares to do some yoga.

Zheng Xiaojue, sitting cross-legged beside her, asks, ”Sister Xiao Yun, letting Meng Ran sneak here to eat, wouldn’t her agent be upset if they find out?”

Zheng Xiaojue wonders, why invite such trouble?

Zhou Yun says, ”Her agent won’t cause us trouble, don’t worry. Besides, her agent is too controlling. Look how skinny she has gotten, yet they still ask her to lose weight.”
