Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 676: Chapter 488: Thank You, President Yao (Part 3)

”It’s fine.” Zhou Yun shook her head, ”You still have to shoot later, right? Hurry up and get ready.”

He Xuran nodded, ”Then I’ll go first.”

When he left, Zheng Xiaojue closed the car door again.

”He really lacks sincerity.” Zheng Xiaojue muttered, ”It’s the first time I’ve seen such a perfunctory apology.”

Zhou Yun reminded, ”It’s fine as long as you say this in front of me.”

”Got it.” Zheng Xiaojue said, ”I won’t talk about it carelessly outside.”

Zhou Yun thought for a moment, and still added a sentence.

”Even if he didn’t come to apologize to me, it wouldn’t matter.”

Zheng Xiaojue said, ”If it weren’t for his carelessness, Sister Xiao Yun, you wouldn’t have been hurt.”

”I know, I’m not saying my injury has nothing to do with him, what I mean is, I never expected him to sincerely apologize to me, to him, I’m just a fellow actor he works with.”

”Sister Xiao Yun, you are too magnanimous. If it were someone else, they definitely wouldn’t let him off so easily.”

”What should I do then? Ask him to compensate for my medical expenses or what?” Zhou Yun shook her head, ”At best, just have him apologize to me. He’s already apologized, how can I cling to it, saying his attitude is perfunctory and I don’t accept his apology? Even if I don’t accept, the production team won’t fire him over this, and I can’t demand that either; that would be making a mountain out of a molehill. Xiaoju, I’ve come to understand something more and more—if your dissatisfaction doesn’t contribute to improving the situation, then it’s unnecessary to feel unsatisfied. Of course, it’s fine to vent out uncomfortable feelings, but don’t really expect anyone to care about your dissatisfaction because nobody does.”

Zheng Xiaojue nodded, ”It just angers me.”

”There’s nothing to be overly angry about, I got accidentally hurt by him, and one day, he will also be accidentally hurt by someone else.”

These few cooperating actors, He Xuran and Yin Linglin, are the ones she really dislikes.

Ever since the two of them started plotting behind her back with Yao Yuanfeng, she had disliked them.

So, disliking them a bit more doesn’t matter.

But this kind of atmosphere in the production team still made Zhou Yun a bit uncomfortable.

In the production teams she had been in before, even in ”Dingfengbo,” everyone’s relationships were much closer. Yet, while filming ”Four Killers,” although this production team had more people, hundreds in the big team, the personal connections had significantly decreased. Every day they followed the call sheet, showing up at the appointed place at the appointed time, with Hou Mengjie not saying anything extra to her outside the set. Thinking back, even Xue Qin would take jabs at her now and then.

Zhou Yun felt that Hou Mengjie was quite distant towards the actors, not really caring deeply, as if he just needed them to help him shoot the film. As for private relationships, they seemed unnecessary. In this production team, Zhou Yun felt very much like she was just ”working”. Plainly put, everyone’s relationship was really just that of colleagues, and no non-collegiate feelings were developed.

At night, back in her hotel, Zhou Yun called Song Chi to discuss her dilemma. Song Chi laughed and said, ”This is actually just a normal production team you’ve entered. Previously, you were just lucky to be in those hard-to-find teams, even shooting a hastily organized film like ’Behind the Scenes’, encountering great seniors like Zeng Lili and You Jiang. As you join more teams in the future, you’ll find that a lot of people are very annoying and often, personal interactions are very cold. I once filmed a movie with Fan Zhu, and it was very uninteresting for me, everyday just shooting and then heading back to the hotel after wrap up, there was no one I could really talk to, it was very boring.”

Zhou Yun said, ”If you say this is normal then I’m relieved; I thought there was something wrong with me, that everyone was reluctant to approach me.”

”There’s also that aspect, in other people’s eyes, you are a big name, a Movie Queen, naturally they put you on a higher pedestal. They get nervous when they see you, worrying if their every move might make you angry? Or if reaching out to you might annoy you? Even if you do nothing, they would have a lot of considerations, especially in big production teams, all the staff would sign contracts with the production company, including confidentiality agreements and other things, such as not harassing the main actors, not asking for autographs or photos, etc.,” Song Chi said, ”Of course, the production company does this to protect the actors, because indeed, many people take advantage of working in a production team to achieve their own agendas, causing a lot of distress to the actors.”
