Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 671: Chapter 486: In a Certain Sense_3

Sure enough, from these words alone, it’s obvious this person is definitely a hater.

Zheng Xiaojue spoke up in the group chat again: I checked, the video isn’t uploaded by the person in the screenshot. He just saw it and used it, but this person is a habitual hater. Looking at his past Weibo posts, he is a fan of Yu Sitian, often reposts Yu Sitian’s updates, and also posts a lot of negative rumors about other female celebrities without solid evidence. However, since none of it amounts to rumor-mongering and the impact isn’t that significant, he has never been held accountable.

Liu Yun: But now, this Weibo post has already received over a hundred likes. If it continues to spread, could it ferment?

Zheng Xiaojue: I’m also worried about this. Sister Xiao Yun, should we contact her privately?

Zhou Yun thought for a moment: Report this to Sister Lan, but I think we should do nothing for now. This Weibo post hasn’t become trending. It is probably just picked up when you searched for my name. Every day, many people say these things online. If I were to actually pursue this, it would take decades if I had to address it daily. It’s not necessary. If we send her a private message, she might even hype it up and draw more attention.

Zheng Xiaojue: Okay, I understand, Sister Xiao Yun.

Zhou Yun looked at the Weibo post in the screenshot and fell into deep thought.

She was pondering a question, thinking that what she considers good might not necessarily be seen as good by others, and might even be labeled as hypocrisy by them.

Should she have said those words today?

Of course, her intention was to encourage the girl to study hard because she knows very well that being educated opens up more options for the future.

But these might not be the words the girl wanted to hear.

And perhaps, not the words the girl would take to heart.

If she was saying things that the other person was destined not to absorb, then what was the point of saying them?

Was it useful?

Zhou Yun wasn’t afraid of exerting effort in vain; she was simply contemplating whether she subconsciously believed, under that situation, saying those words was the right choice?

Subconsciously wanting to be right?

She knows she shouldn’t doubt herself; she knows the kind of person she is. But she fears that having been a public figure for so long, she might not even realize when she puts on a mask.

She logged onto Weibo and glanced at the comments section of her latest post, curious to see what everyone thought.

She had expected many would be impatient since, after all, who likes being constantly reminded by someone?

However, to her surprise, the opinions she saw weren’t quite what she anticipated.

The top comment was: Xiao Yun’s tone when she tells us to study hard is so gentle, I wish I could have an elder sister like that to remind me to study; I would definitely get into University A.

The second top comment was: No wonder Xiao Yun got into University A, her attitude is just different from ours.

The third top comment was: What should I do, I want to strive hard to study now, but I’ve already started working.

The fourth top comment was: I’ve decided to start studying with Xiao Yun, even if I am working, I shouldn’t waste time.

...

Zhou Yun was perplexed.

Why was this the case?

Didn’t they find the things she said annoying?

Until she read someone’s comment: Honestly, I really dislike it when people tell me to work hard after hearing my grades aren’t good, asking why aren’t you striving? But Xiao Yun’s approach is entirely different from those people. Even though she is strict, she is also very gentle. She doesn’t blame you for not striving but rather tells you how to strive. If I had a teacher like her encouraging me during my senior year when my grades were slipping, perhaps I wouldn’t have ended up at such a poor university.

Zhou Yun was somewhat shocked by this person’s words.

She has always felt that the distance between celebrities and fans should ideally grow further. She also believed that celebrities don’t have so much accountability to guide their fans; she should just do her job well, and what the fans do isn’t her responsibility nor her concern. However, these comments made her realize that she might actually possess a greater influence than she ever imagined. These people might not truly be convinced by her words, nor might they be able to implement her advice; indeed, those inspired to study well might revert to their old patterns after a few days. But what should be done? Zhou Yun realized that if she could share more of her experience, perhaps she could empower some who are lost in the fog.
