Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 686: Chapter 491: Back and Forth

”Zhang Cong?” Song Chi asked groggily.

Zhang Cong stood behind Zhou Yun, cautiously replying: ”Brother Chi, it’s Sister Xiao Yun who’s here.”

In the darkness, that silhouette seemed to freeze, motionless.

Zhou Yun fumbled around, finding the light switch.

She pressed it, and the light came on.

The room instantly brightened.

Song Chi was lying on the bed, both his right hand and left foot encased in plaster casts.

There were also wounds on his face, covered with gauze.

As the light came on, Zhou Yun’s gaze met Song Chi’s at that very moment.

Zhou Yun’s eyes instantly reddened.

What to say?

Zhou Yun didn’t know how to describe her feelings.

She had never seen Song Chi so battered before, nor seen him in such a state.

She turned away, raised her hand to wipe away the tears she couldn’t hold back, took a deep breath, walked up to Song Chi, and sat down on the stool beside the bed.

”Is this what you call ’nothing serious’?” Zhou Yun raised her eyebrows, looking at Song Chi.

Song Chi didn’t speak.

”Liar.”

”You’re a liar, too,” Song Chi said.

Zhou Yun’s brows furrowed.

”You promised me, you would tell me before coming,” Song Chi’s eyes also tinged with redness.

Zhou Yun: ”If I had told you beforehand, you would have found all kinds of excuses to stop me from coming.”

Song Chi remained silent.

Zhou Yun had nothing more to say either.

The two of them just looked at each other, face to face.

After a while, Zhou Yun said to Song Chi: ”I still have to rush back to the film set later, I have scenes to shoot tomorrow morning.”

”I told you not to come, it’s holding up your work,” Song Chi smiled faintly, lifting his uninjured left hand toward Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun walked over, handed her hand to him, and clasped Song Chi’s hand.

”You knew it would hold up my work, so why didn’t you tell me the truth from the start? Did you think I would believe you when you said you were fine?” Zhou Yun said, ”I’m not stupid.”

Song Chi sighed, ”I really wish you were a bit dumber at a time like this.”

Zhou Yun: ”Disgusting.”

Song Chi laughed, ”Not a bit of romance in you.”

Zhou Yun snorted, ”Then go find a girlfriend who has a bit of romance in her.”

”My girlfriend is you, where else would I find one?” Song Chi pinched the palm of Zhou Yun’s hand, ”Since you’ve come today, let’s leave it at that, but don’t come anymore after this. Stay at the film set and concentrate on filming, we can video chat every day.”

Zhou Yun snorted again and said: ”You think I want to come; I’d rather not bother.”

Song Chi: ”You really have a heart of stone.”

”Yeah,” Zhou Yun pursed her lips, her gaze swept across some of the small cuts on Song Chi’s face, a handsome face that had suffered such serious injuries, and her eyes threatened to redden again.

Song Chi sighed, ”Aren’t you usually very brave? How come you cry so easily today?”

Zhou Yun: ”Who’s crying? Don’t talk nonsense.”

Song Chi looked at Zhou Yun’s reddening eyes and remained silent.

”What time is it now?”

”It’s after two,” Zhou Yun sniffled, ”It’s really late. I didn’t want to wake you, but I ended up doing so, anyway. I won’t disturb your sleep any longer, go to sleep, I’ll head back.”

Song Chi nodded, ”Go back quickly, be careful on the way and stay safe.”

Zhou Yun responded with a hmm.

As she got up, she leaned down and kissed Song Chi on the lips.

”Next time try lying to me again,” Zhou Yun threatened, a fierce look in her eyes.

Song Chi helplessly curved his mouth in resignation.

Thus, Zhou Yun saw Song Chi in a hurried visit and rushed back to the film set just as quickly.

On her way back to the set, Song Chi kept sending messages to Zhou Yun, trying to chat, probably thinking Zhou Yun would be bored on the long trip back.

Zhou Yun wrote: I won’t talk to you now, I need to catch some sleep.

Song Chi replied: Okay, then send me a message when you arrive.

Zhou Yun: No, because then you’ll wait for my message before sleeping.

Song Chi: If you don’t tell me you’ve arrived, I won’t be able to sleep well. Anyway, like this, I’ll have to stay in the hospital; I can catch up on sleep during the day.

Zhou Yun: Fine, fine, I got it.

Song Chi sent a kiss emoji.

Zhou Yun sent back a vomiting emoji.

In truth, Zhou Yun wasn’t able to sleep in the car either.

Zheng Xiaojue fell asleep.

With her head tilted, she looked quite cute, like an innocent child.

Zhou Yun’s mind was a bit chaotic, numb.

What to do next? The question surfaced in her mind. Song Chi would definitely need care next, but of course, he wouldn’t lack people to take care of him, whether it was assistants or hiring a nurse. However, Zhou Yun thought, he would surely hope that she was the one by his side to take care of him at this time, a fact known without asking. But Zhou Yun also knew she couldn’t do it.
