Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 681: Chapter 489: Incompatible Fates (Part 4)

Zhou Yun encountered Liu Zhikun again on the set and noticed that his attitude towards her was colder than usual.

Why would Liu Zhikun act like this? Zhou Yun roughly understood in her heart. The incident had caused quite a stir, with irrational fan behavior being criticized, and yet it had all started because of him, with Zhou Yun ending up as the beneficiary officially commended. Even if Zhou Yun had no involvement in the incident, Liu Zhikun probably didn’t feel good seeing her.

Zhou Yun sighed inwardly.

She felt that her relationship with ”Four Killers” was probably ill-fated in this lifetime; one after another, they all became distant and indifferent for various reasons.

During a break in filming, Zhou Yun stayed in her trailer to have lunch.

Zheng Xiaojue came onto the vehicle with coffee, leaned into Zhou Yun’s ear with an air of mystery, and whispered, ”Sister Xiao Yun, guess what I just saw.”

Zhou Yun took the coffee and asked, ”What did you see?”

Zheng Xiaojue said, ”I saw Meng Ran and Liu Zhikun secretly meeting.”

”They met secretly? How did you figure out they were doing it secretly?” asked Zhou Yun.

”Because they were carefully looking around to see if anyone would catch them,” Zheng Xiaojue said earnestly, ”Luckily, I hid quite well.”

”You actually hid?” Zhou Yun was surprised.

”Well, I saw that there was something fishy about the two of them, so my curiosity got the better of me. But let’s leave that aside, Sister Xiao Yun, Meng Ran is really nice to you, isn’t she? Liu Zhikun was speaking ill of you and Meng Ran kept defending you, saying you’re a good person and he must have misunderstood,” Zheng Xiaojue said with a smile, ”Liu Zhikun complained that she was blinded by you, but Meng Ran even got angry with him.”

Zhou Yun was at a loss for words.

”Are they a couple?”

”Although they weren’t kissing or holding hands, it seemed like they were a couple, the atmosphere was just different. Anyway, I think only couples could have such a relaxed vibe,” Zheng Xiaojue explained, ”And Liu Zhikun, he can really complain; from the director to the actors of this show, he’s complained about them all, no one pleases him, everyone annoys him.”

Zhou Yun could only offer a bitter smile.

Liu Zhikun and Meng Ran probably did have more in common. Both of them grew up in similar environments, debuting from talent shows, singing and dancing, and becoming idols, then starting acting careers. The only difference was that Liu Zhikun was naturally talented at acting, while Meng Ran was not so much. Recently, Liu Zhikun probably wasn’t feeling too well because of the fan incident before.

Actually, it’s rare for fans of normal actors to do such crazy things; this sort of behavior is more common among celebrity idols’ fans.

Meng Ran would feel more empathy when Liu Zhikun talked about these things.

”I remember Meng Ran’s agent was adamantly against her dating,” Zheng Xiaojue clicked her tongue, ”But these days, who can control whether artists get into relationships or not.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Don’t tell anyone about this, just talking to me about it is enough.”

”I’ll keep the secret safe,” Zheng Xiaojue nodded and zipped her lips with her fingers.

During the afternoon filming, Zhou Yun got injured again. This time, it was her thigh. She was suspended by wires, and due to a mishandling, she fell to the ground, scraping her thigh. The person responsible for the rigging went pale.

Zhou Yun didn’t say anything else but directly went to the hospital with the production administrator, took X-rays, and made sure no bones were injured, confirming it was just a superficial wound before returning to the set.

The person responsible for the rigging came to her with a face full of guilt and nervousness to apologize.

Zhou Yun saw that he was just a teenage boy about eighteen or nineteen years old, very thin, with eyes full of insecurity that he might be fired, his hands nervously hanging by his sides.

”Miss Zhou, I’m sorry, it was my mistake, my negligence, that caused...” the young man stammered, speaking very quietly and looking scared, ”that caused you to get injured, I’m truly very sorry.”

Zhou Yun sighed softly and said, ”Be more careful next time.”

The young man was taken aback.

Zhou Yun pursed her lips and added, ”We were lucky this time, it’s just a superficial wound, but if you had hurt the muscles or bones, it would have been bad. Be sure to pay more attention to your work in the future.”

The young man nodded frantically, saying, ”Okay, thank you, Miss Zhou, thank you!”

This incident spread, and the crew was somewhat surprised.

He Xuran’s first reaction was, ”This lady really seems to be addicted to playing the good person.”
