Damn it, plans really can’t keep up with changes.

Looking at the half-sunken city gate, Gu Xi was speechless.

He never thought that losing the worms would lead to the ground turning out like this.

It seems these worms not only have the ability to drill but also to restore the ground to its original state.

The worms are now so battered that they no longer bother to fill back the ground, and this small piece of ground collapsing is already considered lucky.

If it was bad luck, the entire camp of Gu Xi would collapse.

But Gu Xi was quite ruthless, faced with the current situation, he instead calmed down.

”Mido, come over here.”

Gu Xi commanded decisively.

Mido, riding on his flying mount, couldn’t quite understand why Gu Xi was calling him at this moment.

But he still approached Gu Xi immediately.

At this moment, Gu Xi was adjusting the fallen city gate’s position, hoping to find a good spot to set it down again.

However, the worms were currently fighting with the bone-devouring mud, and the area was in chaos.

The collapse area on the ground was getting larger and larger.

Moreover, without anyone directing it, the bone-devouring mud, unable to control its direction, actually drew the worms towards Gu Xi’s position.

Gu Xi didn’t want a huge pit to open up under his camp, so when Mido came over, Gu Xi didn’t let him guess the situation, but directly commanded.

”You go and take command of the bone-devouring mud and lure those worms out to fight.”

After giving this order, Gu Xi paused and then added a few more commands.

”Also take the bone locust and evil bone locust with you; after killing the worms, attack downward through the tunnels they’ve made. I’m not sure if there are any more worms underground, but I need you to ensure no more can come up and disrupt my plan.”

Gu Xi had no choice now; he didn’t have the manpower suitable for underground combat, so he could only use some tool-like heroes to fight.

Mido didn’t mind being used by Gu Xi as a tool.

In Mido’s eyes, this was an opportunity; being a tool isn’t the most feared, but being forgotten is.

”Yes!”

Understanding his mission, Mido immediately jumped off his mount and walked towards the bone-devouring mud, taking command.

Meanwhile, the bone locust and evil bone locust also flew out from the city gate, joining Mido’s team.

Mido’s original undead corps quickly withdrew from under his command and joined the nearby defenses.

Yet Gu Xi still felt uneasy; there was not yet a clear understanding of how many enemies were underground, and the current troops didn’t seem enough.

Gu Xi thought for a moment and quickly realized.

Maybe he had a unit that could fight underground after all.

”The centipede killed earlier was converted by Double Death into Yalidu City, quickly mobilize it out here.”

Gu Xi recalled his prior gains.

Under Gu Xi’s command, a massive strange centipede appeared before him.

This centipede wasn’t as long as the original one but measured nearly thirty-five meters, and unlike the previous centipede covered in ashes, this one was similar to the bone locust, clad in bone armor formed from bone fragments.

After appearing, the massive centipede moved back and forth before Gu Xi, its speed evidently reaching a certain level.

[Bone Armor Centipede (Level 14, Champion Team, Summoned Creature): Experience (0/5500), Attack 25, Defense 23, Life 220, Skills: Poisonous Bite, High-speed Charge, Group Attack, Infinite Counterattack...]

When the centipede emerged, Gu Xi took a look at its attributes.

Gu Xi didn’t expect he had almost missed such a champion unit.

Sadly, this bone armor centipede was an individually converted entity, not something Gu Xi could train.

Otherwise, given the condition of the bone armor centipede, Gu Xi definitely would’ve trained more for underground battle units.

”Alright, you join Mido’s team too, target those worms.”

As soon as Gu Xi’s words fell, the bone armor centipede rushed forward.

It didn’t head toward Mido but instead turned and lunged at a worm.

Though there was a size difference between the bone armor centipede and the worm, the centipede bit down, gripping the worm’s head, and injected poison right away.

Gu Xi finally understood what poisonous bite meant.

No matter how thick your skin is, those teeth can bite through anything.

Once bitten, the poison injects into the enemy’s body like a high-pressure needle.

To prevent the enemy from not dying from the poison, the bone armor centipede even pushes, making the poison circulate faster.

For such a large enemy like the worm, the centipede knew not to focus on one spot, so it constantly shifted positions, injecting more poison into the worm’s body.

Soon, the targeted worm’s body turned green, with dark green fluids leaking from its torn wounds—clearly, it was done for.

And the nearby bone-devouring mud retreated, unwilling to fight over this spoil with the centipede.

Only the bone locust and evil bone locust hovered around; they were gluttons of anything.

No matter the poison, they can digest it, even if it’s poison itself.

Mido immediately reacted.

”What are you all waiting for, chase it down!”

Seeing the halted troops, Mido grew anxious. ”If we can kill one worm now, we surely can kill more; the tunnels aren’t sealed yet, killing more now means more benefits.”

Upon Mido’s command, part of the bone-devouring mud slid into the large pit leading underground.

And the bone armor centipede resumed its attack on the remaining worms.

As for the poisoned worm, it still wriggled on the ground, looking like it didn’t need any further attention—it was simply waiting to die.

The bone armor centipede’s attack speed was quite swift; within about a minute, all three worms that surfaced were dispatched by it.

Then it also intended to head underground.

At that moment, a voice reached Gu Xi’s ears.

[Bone Armor Centipede (Summoned Creature) killed Corpse-eating Worm (Level 11), you gained 1 point of experience, Mido gained 1 point of experience, the summoned creatures involved in the attack gained 33 points of experience!]

”It’s dead, quickly, deploy the undead creatures transformed from the worm’s death.”
