Undead Mage from a Cell

Di Mi also knew her performance in this battle was not good. She couldn’t claim much effort, so she only asked Gu Xi to take a tour around the districts and explained the difficulties at that time.

Gu Xi, Luna, and the Eldest Princess Anna didn’t make things difficult for Di Mi. They also seriously observed Yalidu City, which had just been taken over and was not yet completely cleaned up.

Just as Di Mi said, apart from four relatively intact districts, in the other six districts, Gu Xi and the others could only see piles of ruins.

In the ruins, a large number of the Undead bodies were dragged out and piled aside. Di Mi planned to select those with higher levels or better potential to resurrect using the Eternal Enslavement Altar. The corpses with weaker levels were left aside.

As for the corpses of the Deceitful Shadow in Yalidu City, there were none.

Similar to the Deceitful Shadow that Gu Xi had killed before, all the Deceitful Shadows in this Yalidu City wouldn’t leave behind corpses.

However, after they died, they all turned into Deceitful Energy Pearls, which the Undead under Di Mi were currently searching for.

According to the agreement between Gu Xi and Di Mi back then, the spoils were to be split in half.

Half of the Deceitful Energy Pearls here belonged to Gu Xi.

The remaining half of the Deceitful Energy Pearls were used by Di Mi to resurrect her soldiers and to supplement and strengthen the troops.

These were extremely important to Di Mi, and she handled them with extreme care.

Seeing Di Mi’s cautious demeanor, Gu Xi also understood that Di Mi grasped her situation.

However, this was unavoidable, as she had wasted several opportunities.

If she can’t change Gu Xi’s impression, there would probably be no future opportunities.

When Gu Xi and the others finished touring the Yalidu City of this era and were about to discuss how to address the current issues, Di Mi suddenly spoke up.

”Sir, I would like to apply to participate in field battles.”

At this time, Gu Xi and Luna were discussing whether to build a new Assembly Hall in the Yalidu City of this era.

Di Mi’s words surprised him.

Gu Xi turned his head to look at Di Mi, staring at her face for a long time.

At this moment, Di Mi no longer had the laziness from drinking afternoon tea in Yalidu City. Instead, she exuded a bloodthirsty aura battle-forged on the battlefield.

Facing Gu Xi’s gaze, Di Mi did not flinch. She stared intently into Gu Xi’s eyes, hoping to seize this last hope.

”Alright!”

After a long silence, Gu Xi finally agreed to Di Mi’s proposal, ”Organize your troops. When it’s time to deploy, I’ll notify you.”

Di Mi wanted to say she needed to bring her subordinates into battle, but she swallowed her words.

At this moment, Gu Xi turned his head towards Liu Sheng, who had been standing aside all along.

”What about you? What’s your plan next?”

”I plan to follow Lord Di Mi. I have accepted Lord Di Mi’s appointment to become the command hero of her Gray Soul Camp.”

Liu Sheng had fought alongside Di Mi for some time and had seen her performance in combat. He strongly recognized Di Mi’s strength and also understood that Di Mi’s current situation was due to sheer bad luck.

If she hadn’t been so demanding and visionary, and had been willing to fight for Gu Xi earlier, she wouldn’t have ended up in her current predicament.

However, it was precisely because of this that he supported Di Mi.

He believed that what Di Mi lacked was an opportunity. As long as Di Mi could seize this chance, with her ambition, she would definitely become the first leader under Gu Xi.

Liu Sheng was placing a bet, and a heavy one at that.

Gu Xi didn’t understand Liu Sheng’s thought process, but he was slightly surprised by Liu Sheng’s emphasis on it.

Then Gu Xi reminded himself that the Battlefield Ghosts under Liu Sheng’s command were an irreplaceable unit. Once their battle was over, they were gone.

On the other hand, Di Mi had strong control over Zombies, Ghosts, and Vampires, and could also gigantify these three unit types.

Perhaps Liu Sheng intended to have a new source of troops to replenish when the Battlefield Ghosts suffered losses.

With this thought in mind, Gu Xi recognized Liu Sheng’s decision.

”Alright, you’ll go with them then. For now, replenish the troops we lost this time.”

The Electric Zombies differed from the Battlefield Ghosts. They had no hero, not even a boss, just two Warriors and an Elite. Their matters were managed directly by Di Mi, and whether their losses should be replenished was Di Mi’s own concern.

As Di Mi went down to reorganize her troops, Luna also lifted her head.

”Sir, I have already calculated. In the newly acquired Yaliduvi District, there are at least twenty-seven large plots on the surface, and underground, there are sewers where nine more large plots can be developed.

Without counting other plots, just considering the large plots, there are close to forty plots here.

Moreover, the distance between our Main City District and here is more than just a little difference.

It marks an era difference. If we don’t come over specifically, orders from the Assembly Hall of the Main City District would need to go through the door of Yaliduvi Tower and then arrive here, taking a dedicated delivery five hours.

Establishing a Carriage Station would require a whole day’s trip forth and back.

I don’t want that, when we need to decide what to build in Yaliduvi City of this era, all progress is delayed by half to a whole day.”

”That’s the logic, but won’t building an Assembly Hall here create a situation where orders come from multiple sources?”

Gu Xi was more concerned about this aspect.

The freshly conquered Yalidu City couldn’t just be split up like that.

”No, the Assembly Hall will also have a hierarchy, and other core buildings need to be relocated, even if they can’t be considered core buildings, they still need to be built.”

In terms of building Yalidu City, Luna was quite assertive.

Gu Xi pondered, acknowledging that Luna’s point was valid.

Still, the most crucial aspect was Gu Xi and the others’ attitude towards handling the other eras of Yalidu City.

Currently, this Yalidu City was just one out of six Yalidu Cities.

If it would take half to a whole day to convey orders for just one city, then, for the six Yalidu Cities, governmental affairs might directly stall.

Thinking of the future, Gu Xi couldn’t afford not to take such actions.

”Alright, let’s first recommend an Assembly Hall, then redefine the districts. Forget the destroyed districts; we’ll redivide them. We shouldn’t build everything haphazardly like in the Main City District before.

This time we have enough land, and all districts can be planned slowly.

Additionally, we need to figure out a way to open up the waterways and the sewer. Should the Carriage Station be unusable and Yaliduvi Tower be stuck, at least we’ll have other ways to contact here.”

Hearing Gu Xi’s words, Luna seriously said, ”Understood, sir, rest assured, I’ll ensure the current district is well-planned.”
