Undead Mage from a Cell

After leaving the Wild Temple of the Yellow Springs, Gu Xi discovered that the centipede that was previously killed had been completely disassembled. The hard shell of the centipede was broken into various sizes of armor pieces, the flesh had been made into fist-sized white chunks, and even the internal organs were cleaned and placed together with the poison glands.

When Gu Xi arrived, his subordinates had already begun transporting these items to Yalidu City.

”Sir.”

Seeing Gu Xi coming, Lewis, who was cleaning the battlefield, ran over quite obediently.

It was obvious that he had realized his place, ready to be used as a tool.

He would rush to do things like cleaning the battlefield and scouting the way ahead.

He wanted to change Gu Xi’s opinion of him with this attitude.

”Well done, pack up, and prepare to deploy.”

Under Gu Xi’s command, the troops that just fought returned to their original positions.

The Brave Fight had completed the formation of the Demon Sacrifice Camp, now following closely at the rear of the troop.

Meanwhile, the Black Spear Camp, having not gained much advantage in the previous battle, now rushed to the front of the line, eager to gain some experience on the way forward.

The Bone-Slaying Camp, which had benefited earlier, remained quiet.

During the recent break, they went to Yalidu City to buy some suitable materials, and they were now crafting their own two-handed swords.

The leg of the centipede was a treasure to them, and it would be a waste not to utilize it properly.

As the troops moved forward, they followed along the flanks, no longer wandering about like before.

After jumping onto the Evil Coffin to deploy, Gu Xi was called over by Eldest Princess Anna to listen to her analysis of the battle.

Eldest Princess Anna did not intervene in Gu Xi’s personnel arrangements.

Nor did she comment on whether the existence of the Demon Sacrifice Camp was good or bad; she just helped Gu Xi review the battle.

Gu Xi also expressed his thoughts, considering whether he had made any mistakes.

Eldest Princess Anna acknowledged Gu Xi’s efforts, directly saying, ”Great generals are forged in battle; those flashes of inspiration and battlefield perception are just illusions.

Only when you have suffered setbacks do you learn fear.

Only when you have been attacked do you learn how to defend.

For us, improving through combat is the most cost-effective way.

The Undead are not afraid of death, even if there are issues, you can address them afterward.”

With such continuous learning, they quickly reached the location of the Broken Scale Stone Ore mentioned in the tasks.

From a distance, Gu Xi stopped when he saw the ore, which seemed to be busily operating.

This situation made Gu Xi’s expression somewhat grim.

Knowing that this place was not far from the Soul Gathering Land, and that it appeared on the task center at Soul Gathering Land, indicated people there were annoyed.

Yet they were excavating so openly, either backed by someone or very confident in their own strength.

In any case, Gu Xi felt that a battle was inevitable.

”Lewis, take some ghosts up front, draw the enemy over.”

Seeing Lewis’s prior efforts, Gu Xi was willing to give him a chance to prove himself.

Upon hearing this, Lewis immediately called over seven Ghost Bosses and brought along his usual ghost soldiers, quickly charging out.

Meanwhile, Gu Xi promptly began to set up the battlefield.

The reason he was having Lewis lure the enemies was to avoid fighting on the enemy’s battleground.

Before the enemy arrived, Gu Xi naturally needed to prepare the battlefield.

The Steel City Gate, Garrison Gate, and Main City Gate were arranged in a line.

The Brave Fight, along with the Demon Sacrifice Camp, was deployed between the Garrison Gate and the Main City Gate, quickly setting up various altars there.

The Black Spear Camp was stationed directly at the Steel City Gate, as the first line of contact with the enemy.

As for Gu Xi, he was positioned in front of the Steel City Gate and the Garrison Gate.

He didn’t stand on the city gate as usual, but released the Soul Summoning Tower, standing at the top of it.

With the Soul Summoning Tower leveled up, it had grown significantly higher, now over fifty meters tall.

Standing atop the Soul Summoning Tower, Gu Xi could clearly view the situation below.

”No wonder you let me come up; standing here makes commanding the battle much smoother.”

Standing behind Gu Xi, Eldest Princess Anna laughed and said, ”That’s because you have items that can directly communicate with various heroes and bosses on the battlefield. If you didn’t have this ability, I wouldn’t let you leave the battlefield directly.

But on top here, your spells become less useful in the fight.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xi realized that Eldest Princess Anna was right.

At present, apart from the Soul Summoning Skill and Death Incarnation, the remaining spells couldn’t be used.

Various attacking spells were out of reach for the main battlefield.

As for Bone Shield and Bone Curtain, Gu Xi didn’t need them for the moment.

”It’s okay, there will be suitable times to use the spells; learning them won’t be wasted.”

As Gu Xi spoke, Lewis returned with the Ghost Corps.

Gu Xi’s eyes lit up, ”The enemy is coming.”

As soon as Gu Xi finished speaking, Eldest Princess Anna slashed forward with her hand, creating a mirror made of water in front of her.

By looking into the water mirror, she quickly assessed the situation following Lewis, and suddenly remarked.

”There’s something off about these Undead.”

”What’s off? Let me see.”

Gu Xi leaned over and seriously looked.

Then he understood what Eldest Princess Anna meant by off.

The Undead Corps pursuing Lewis was clearly a formal unit, with a distinct Undead Hero among them.

Within his army, there were various troops including Skeleton Soldiers, Skeleton Shooters, Skeleton Mages, and even a Skeleton Knight unit over a hundred strong.

The other three squads included ghosts, zombies, and vampires.

Each unit was led by a dedicated Undead Boss.

Behind the Undead Hero, a battle banner was raised; on the crimson flag, three skulls were stacked, forming a big ’1’.

Seeing such a battle banner, Gu Xi’s heart was stirred.

He automatically deciphered all the information on the battle banner.

Steel Skeleton Guild’s First Pioneer Regiment under Bone Camp.

Which player guild planted such a hero here?

Before Gu Xi could react, the enemy had already reached the Steel City Gate.

Arroyo’s Black Spear Camp had already raised their long spears, ready for impact.

At this moment, Gu Xi had no time to think more, and he immediately turned and commanded, ”Brave Fight, Mana Extraction.”
