Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 141, I Like You Calling Me Senior Sister

Translator: Silavin

“Oh?” The Beautiful Senior Sister stopped in her tracks, turned back to look at Lu Fan, and asked while touching her face, “Why do you say that? Do I not look like a student?”

Lu Fan shook his head and solemnly said, “In terms of appearance, you certainly look like you’re young enough to be a student. At first I thought you were a third or fourth year Senior. But your Combat Power just does not match. Besides, if you were really a student, would there be any need to spar with me for so long? With your abilities, you should have been able to defeat me easily and get my points, right?”

The Beautiful Senior Sister covered her mouth and chuckled. “Why would I need to defeat you? Can’t I find you interesting and want to play with you a bit longer?”

“That’s fine and all,” Lu Fan scratched his head, “but I just feel like you’re not that simple, I had a hunch you’re not a student of Dragon Capital University.”

“Hehe.” The Beautiful Senior Sister’s amusement grew, “Ah. My Junior is so clever. So, who do you think I am?”

Lu Fan thought for a moment and tentatively asked, “You should be… a teacher, right?”

The Beautiful Senior Sister laughed, “I suppose you can say that. When we have a chance to meet around campus in the future, you might find out who I am.”

“Alright, I have some matters to attend to, so I’ll be going now.” The Beautiful Senior Sister waved her hand. “Oh, and don’t call me teacher in the future. I still prefer you calling me Senior Sister.”

With that, the Beautiful Senior Sister took a step into the Transport Array and left the VIP Arena.

As soon as she left, Lu Fan immediately received a message saying his opponent had automatically forfeited, so another 100 points fell into his hands. Lu Fan was immediately both amused and exasperated, [This Senior Sister is truly puzzling. She clearly taught me how to fight for over half an hour. I had originally wanted to give her 1000 points as tuition fees, but after she left, she turned around and sent him 100 points instead… it is like waking up in a hotel, about to pay the bill, only to find the person gone with 2000 yuan left on the bedside table.]

[Seriously. What a strange Senior Sister.] Lu Fan was truly very curious about her identity, so he decided to chase after her and ask for clarification. He immediately exited the VIP Arena and got teleported back to the second floor of the arena.

When he came out, he found no trace of her.

[She left so quickly?] Lu Fan frowned and quickly went downstairs. As soon as he reached the first floor, he saw Han Ke and the others waiting there.

Seeing Lu Fan come down from the second floor, Han Ke called him over. She intended to update him on what happened in the freshmen exam.

However, Lu Fan was not very interested in the freshmen exam. He directly asked everyone if they had seen a Beautiful Senior Sister in cloth armour come down from upstairs just now.

When Lu Fan asked this, everyone’s expressions changed. They were bewildered – what Beautiful Senior Sister? They had not seen anyone come down at all.

Lu Fan was also confused by this. [Wait, they didn’t see her? That’s impossible. I clearly checked the whole second floor. There was no trace of her, and this is the only staircase leading to the first floor. If she had left, Auntie and the others should have seen her. Unless she can fly!? Or, was what I saw a ghost?]

Lu Fan thought for a moment and suddenly understood. [I heard that the VIP Arenas on the second floor are connected to another system as well. Teachers responsible for the safety of PvP in the arena can remotely enter any VIP Arena to prevent casualties if the PvP matches get out of hand. Since she isn’t a real student, if she did not enter the VIP Arena from the second floor, this just further proves my guess is correct, she is a teacher.]

Realising this, Lu Fan felt relieved. In today’s sparring match, there was a huge gap between him and his opponent. However, since he lost to a teacher, it was not anything to be ashamed of. Moreover, she seemed to have been intentionally guiding him. Was this not an unexpected stroke of good fortune falling from the sky?

As for who this teacher was, he could ask Teacher Gu Han or Zhao Shengming later, and he should be able to find out.

Seeing that Lu Fan seemed to be lost in thought, Tao Xiaoman quickly came over to inquire about the situation. She asked Lu Fan what he had encountered on the second floor and why he immediately asked about the whereabouts of some ‘Beautiful Senior Sister’ as soon as he came down.

Lu Fan saw that Tao Xiaoman’s eyes were full of interest in the gossip. So, he gave her a flick on her forehead, making her cover her head and cry out “Ehhhh”.

Afterwards, Lu Fan beckoned everyone to return to the villa. On the way, he recounted his encounter with the Beautiful Senior Sister on the second floor.

Everyone was also quite curious about the identity of this Senior Sister.

As a fellow Swordsman who had attended several of Gu Han’s classes, Tao Xiaoman was very familiar with Gu Han and even had her contact information. She immediately called Gu Han to see if she could uncover the identity of that teacher from Gu Han.

However, after listening to Lu Fan’s description, Gu Han was also confused. She knew most of the teachers who supervised the arena, but she had never heard of such a young and beautiful teacher.

After failing to get any information from Gu Han, everyone could only give up.

This matter was really quite strange.

Still, that Beautiful Senior Sister was definitely someone from Dragon Capital University, and she did not seem to have any malicious intent.

Lu Fan could only think that if he had a chance to see her again in the future, he would try to find a way to ask about her identity.

After moving past the topic of the Beautiful Senior Sister, everyone stopped discussing it and started talking about today’s freshmen exam.

At this time, the forum section of Dragon Capital University was heating up again, with the highest trending posts being about Jiang Fengyun winning the championship of the freshmen exam.

Jiang Fengyun won this championship very easily. In the finals, he and Xu Jing demonstrated their respective strengths, completely dominating their opponents. They toyed with them effortlessly before easily claiming victory.

When he finally won the championship, Jiang Fengyun was even more triumphant, declaring that he had won first place without any effort. He said that if the audience wanted to congratulate him, they might as well wait until tomorrow after he defeated Lu Fan and Jian Ying.

He even publicly stated that his two opponents cared a lot about tomorrow’s match. so they came to watch the competition today. He expressed how they must have been trying to gauge his strength.

But in today’s match, he had not even used half of his strength. Lu Fan and Jian Ying were bound to be disappointed.

After saying this, he directly challenged Lu Fan, telling him to come up on stage now to set a specific time for their battle tomorrow.

However, at that time, Lu Fan had already gone to the second floor, so the scene Jiang Fengyun had imagined – Lu Fan coming up on stage to face him; a confrontation between two strong opponents – did not materialise.

Jiang Fengyun called for Lu Fan to come up on stage twice but received no response. The outspoken Tao Xiaoman then directly said that Lu Fan found the freshmen exam here uninteresting and had already gone upstairs to fight.

After Tao Xiaoman said this, many people burst into laughter, making Jiang Fengyun’s face turn dark.

Jiang Fengyun had just said that Lu Fan took their duel tomorrow very seriously, and had even come today to gauge his strength. He spoke as if Lu Fan was facing a formidable enemy. Yet, he was told that Lu Fan found it uninteresting and had left early!

Was this not a slap in the face!?

Originally, Jiang Fengyun wanted to show off, but ended up making a fool of himself.

At this point, he could not stand on stage any longer and hastily left a message, ‘Lu Fan, you can only be arrogant now! I hope you won’t find any excuses to flee tomorrow!’

Soon, he and those from Wind Cloud Pavilion hurriedly left amidst occasional bursts of laughter from the crowd.

Still, even after Jiang Fengyun had left in person, he had Xu Jing make another post on the forum. It stated how now that the freshmen exam was over, Lu Fan and Jian Ying should face them in battle. What excuse did he have to avoid it now?

Although this post was short, it quickly rose to the top, with many people ‘@ing’ Lu Fan’s account, demanding that Lu Fan respond.

Seeing this, Lu Fan also decisively logged into his account using his tablet and responded with one sentence, ‘Tomorrow at noon, Arena No. 15 on the first floor. Bring all the people from Wind Cloud Pavilion there. I’ll make you all submit in one go.’

After Lu Fan posted this, the reply was frantically liked and pushed to the top.

Soon, Jiang Fengyun also responded with an ‘Alright’.

The long-anticipated duel between the two was now officially set.

Immediately, the heat of this post skyrocketed, even surpassing the news post about Jiang Fengyun winning first place.

Some people felt that Jiang Fengyun’s first place spot was not very valuable since Lu Fan had withdrawn. If he could defeat Lu Fan in the upcoming match, then no one would question him being the Freshmen King.

In an instant, the news of Lu Fan and Jiang Fengyun’s impending match spread throughout Dragon Capital University, its popularity steadily surpassing that of the freshmen exam finals.

On one side was Jiang Fengyun, the first place winner of the freshmen exam with the Hidden Profession of Shadow Warrior, and Xu Jing, a Mage Silencer.

On the other side was Lu Fan, the Dragon Tamer who had fought an Earth Dragon with his own body, and Jian Ying, who ranked second in terms of granted points.

This upcoming battle was the true finals of the freshmen exam!

Thus, the heat of this agreed duel between the two sides got instantly fermented.

…

In the evening, Zhao Shengming hurriedly came to the principal office of Dragon Capital University. After stopping, he did not enter but lightly knocked on the door.

“Principal, it’s Zhao Shengming.” A moment later, a voice came from behind the door.

This voice was particularly ethereal, allowing people to hear what was being said, but unable to discern whether the owner of the voice was male or female, old or young.

“What’s the matter?”

Zhao Shengming was already accustomed to this voice. He solemnly asked, “Have you seen our University’s forum?”

The principal’s voice came again. “The forum? It’s all posts from students. It is quite interesting. I occasionally take a look. Why?”

Zhao Shengming sighed in relief and said, “In that case, you should also know about the matter between Lu Fan and this year’s freshmen exam champion, Jiang Fengyun, right? This matter has gained a lot of attention. Does the University need to intervene? Otherwise, I’m worried that some trouble might occur…”
