Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 113, With a Human Body, Challenging an Earth Dragon!

Translator: Silavin

“Look, everyone, the Dragon Tamer has arrived!”

“Is that Lu Fan? He’s really low-key. Even though he’s ranked first amongst the freshmen, I rarely see him around.”

“Yeah, unlike Chen Tianzhi, who’s always challenging Players in the arena and getting a lot of attention. I wonder if this Lu Fan is just being low-key, or if he is actually weaker than Chen Tianzhi, which is why he has not been very active.”

“We’ll know soon enough how strong he really is, right? The first match is a battle between two Dragons, how exciting!”

“Chen Tianzhi is here too! My idol, go for it! I love your Armoured Earth Dragon so much! Chen Tianzhi, you must win!”

The crowd cheered enthusiastically as Lu Fan and Chen Tianzhi entered the arena one after another under everyone’s gaze, accompanied by Jian Ying and Jin Zhu.

Both pairs quickly took their positions on the central stage of the arena.

From the semifinals onwards, matches would no longer be held in Battle Rings, but on the central stage of the arena. This way, everyone could watch the freshman exam live and feel the true Strength of the new students.

The entire arena was packed with people, surrounding the stage so tightly that not even water could seep through.

Lu Fan, Jian Ying, Chen Tianzhi, and Jin Zhu stepped onto the stage together. At the same time, the invigilating teacher also came to the centre of the stage to oversee the match.

“The first match of the semifinals, team number one – Lu Fan and Jian Ying, versus team number two – Chen Tianzhi and Jin Zhu! This match officially begins!”

With the teacher’s announcement, he Blinked back to the bottom of the stage and activated a protective barrier to cover the stage, preventing any harm to the audience.

Chen Tianzhi and Jin Zhu stood opposite of Lu Fan and Jian Ying. Chen Tianzhi’s eyes were full of excitement and a strong desire to win, while Jin Zhu’s expression showed hatred and the excitement to exact revenge.

In contrast, Lu Fan and Jian Ying appeared much more composed, as if they were facing two nobodies instead of the powerful Dragon Tamer, Chen Tianzhi.

“Lu Fan, I’ve finally found my chance!” Jin Zhu gritted her teeth at the sight of Lu Fan, a vicious smile appearing on her face. “Today, you’ll return double for hitting me before!”

Hearing this, Lu Fan smiled and said, “How are you so sure you’ll succeed in your revenge? Have you ever thought it would be you getting a few more slaps from me?”

Jin Zhu sneered, “It’s because I have Chen Tianzhi by my side! Do you still think you’re dealing with trash like Cui Hongtai? Your Dragon might be powerful, but Chen Tianzhi’s Dragon is not weak! With me here, his Dragon might even overwhelm your Black Dragon King! Today, I’m not only going to slap your face raw, but I’ll also have Chen Tianzhi’s Armoured Earth Dragon tear your Black Dragon King to pieces! I’ll reduce you back to a worthless nobody!”

She glanced at Chen Tianzhi, her smile growing wider, “After that, you’ll understand that Chen Tianzhi, as a Dragon Tamer, is far wiser than you. He’ll get everything he wants in the future. And you? You’ll fall from your brief pedestal, forgotten by all. In this world, there will only be one Dragon Tamer, and it will be from Extremistis Country, with his name being Chen Tianzhi!”

Lu Fan narrowed his eyes, thinking to himself, [Like I suspected. Chen Tianzhi, you’ve agreed to join Extremistis Country in the future. In that case, you are not worth showing any mercy to.]

Having spoken her harsh words, Jin Zhu could hardly wait to take her revenge on Lu Fan. She called out to Chen Tianzhi, who immediately understood. He drew a Magic Array with his hand, and the Armoured Earth Dragon emerged from it.

Each step the Armoured Earth Dragon took shook the stage, demonstrating its immense power.

As soon as the Armoured Earth Dragon appeared, thunderous cheers erupted from the crowd.

The first Dragon had appeared!

Although it was just an Earth Dragon, it was still a powerful creature with Dragon Bloodline!

Next, everyone was eager to see what Lu Fan’s Dragon looked like.

However, to everyone’s disappointment, Lu Fan showed no intention of summoning his Pet Dragon.

In fact, after Lu Fan waved his hand, Jian Ying beside him gave him a slightly worried look and then stepped aside.

This stance clearly indicated that Lu Fan was not planning to let Jian Ying fight, but rather intended to face Chen Tianzhi alone.

A fair fight between two Dragon Tamers would certainly be exciting, but as a Dragon Tamer, why was Lu Fan not summoning his Dragon when his opponent had already done so? Even Chen Tianzhi could not understand what Lu Fan was trying to do.

He knew Lu Fan had a Black Dragon King, which was most likely stronger than the Armoured Earth Dragon. However, even he had never seen it before.

“What do you mean by doing this!?” Chen Tianzhi equipped his Dragon Spear, frowning at Lu Fan, but not rushing to let his Armoured Earth Dragon attack.

Lu Fan also took out his Black Dragon Scale Greatsword, while simultaneously using Dragon Blood Armour Skill on his Black Dragon Scale Greatsword, integrating it to his arm as a Dragon Claw.

Lu Fan’s arm transforming into a Dragon Claw truly opened the eyes of many present. It elicited numerous exclamations of surprise.

However, this was not what they were here for! They were here to see a battle between Dragons!

Lu Fan clenched his fist with the Dragon Claw, then said, “Nothing special, just going to teach you a good lesson.”

Chen Tianzhi’s frown deepened, his tone filled with great anger: “Why did you make your teammate step back, and why aren’t you summoning your Black Dragon King?”

Lu Fan grinned, “Oh, so that’s what you mean. Well, I made a bet with my teammate before the match. I’m betting I wouldn’t need to summon my Dragon to beat you.”

“You…” Chen Tianzhi nearly exploded from the anger. [This is a blatant slap on my face! A Dragon Tamer fighting without summoning his Dragon is no different from a Swordsman fighting without his sword, or a Mage not casting spells!]

Beside him, Jin Zhu also saw this as Lu Fan being arrogant. She felt as if she had been slapped in the face again.

Her expression darkened to the extreme, and she whispered to Chen Tianzhi, “That bastard is still as arrogant as before. Don’t mind him, his arrogance will be his downfall. Just send your Armoured Earth Dragon to tear him apart! If he dies on the stage due to his own arrogance, it’s none of our concern!”

Of course, Chen Tianzhi wanted to have a fair fight with Lu Fan and defeat him to prove that he was the stronger Dragon Tamer. However, Jin Zhu had given her order, telling him not to show mercy, and Chen Tianzhi dared not disobey.

Out of self-respect, Chen Tianzhi whispered back to Jin Zhu, “Since he’s not summoning his Black Dragon King, Princess, you don’t need to trouble yourself with casting your Buffs on my Armoured Earth Dragon. With its Strength alone, crushing Lu Fan will be effortless!”

Jin Zhu nodded and indeed did not make a move.

Chen Tianzhi’s expression turned grim as he gave the command: “Armoured Earth Dragon, attack!”

The Armoured Earth Dragon roared and then charged towards Lu Fan on its four legs.

Although the Armoured Earth Dragon’s legs were not long, its speed was not slow.

Combined with its enormous size and terrifying Strength, this charge was extremely threatening.

Outside the stage, everyone became excited as the battle had officially begun.

However, at the same time, everyone was confused about what Lu Fan was trying to do.

His arm transforming into a Dragon Claw was indeed eye-opening, but as for his earlier statement, the opponent’s Earth Dragon was already out, so where was his Dragon?

They truly wondered how he was going to fight Chen Tianzhi without summoning his Dragon?

As the Earth Dragon was about to crash into Lu Fan, many people were worried for him, fearing that the match would end before Lu Fan even summoned his Dragon.

*Rumble…* The Earth Dragon charged forward, reaching Lu Fan in the blink of an eye, its massive head lunging towards him.

Lu Fan slightly narrowed his eyes, extending his Dragon Claw forward to meet the Earth Dragon’s head.

*Boom!* After a thunderous crash, Lu Fan was pushed back about two steps by the Armoured Earth Dragon, but then his body stood firm like a javelin. No matter how hard the Armoured Earth Dragon pushed with its four legs, it could not move him another inch.

This scene immediately silenced the previously uproaring arena.

[What kind of sorcery is this!?]

[He stopped an Earth Dragon with one hand!? How much Strength would it take to accomplish this!?]

[How is it possible for him to contend against a Dragon using merely his Human body!?]

Even if it was an Earth Dragon, it was still a Dragon! Its Strength Attribute must be off the charts. How could it be possible for a person to overpower a Dragon with their own Strength!?

It was not just the students watching the match who were shocked; even Chen Tianzhi and Jin Zhu had their eyes wide open, looking as if they had just seen a ghost.

They knew all too well how high the Armoured Earth Dragon’s Strength Attribute was. Although the Armoured Earth Dragon’s strongest Attribute was Endurance, as a member of the Dragon Race, its Strength Attribute were still several times higher than any Summons or Monster of the same level. It was absolutely something a Human could not contend with.

However, the scene before their eyes was undeniably real.

Lu Fan, with Human Strength, was challenging an Earth Dragon head-on!

It was completely illogical!

And then, something even more astonishing happened.

Lu Fan smiled, and his Dragon Claw suddenly exerted force, causing the Armoured Earth Dragon to be pushed back by two steps.

In a contest of Strength between a Human and a Dragon, Lu Fan actually had the upper hand!!

This was simply unheard of!

[Has Lu Fan turned into a Humanoid Giant Dragon just by transforming his arm into a Dragon Claw!?] Chen Tianzhi, with his rich combat experience, realised that now was not the time to be shocked and dazed. He immediately roared, “Armoured Earth Dragon, use Giant Tail Sweep!”

The Armoured Earth Dragon was very obedient. After stabilising itself, it swung its body, and its huge Dragon Tail swept towards Lu Fan.

Such a thick Dragon Tail, moving as fast as lightning, whipped towards Lu Fan with a series of air-splitting sounds. Even the air seemed to distort, showing just how terrifying the power of this Skill was.

However, Lu Fan showed no intention of dodging. Instead, he clenched his Dragon Claw and threw a punch directly at the incoming Dragon Tail.

*Boom!* Another explosive sound rang out, and both Lu Fan and the Armoured Earth Dragon were pushed back two steps by the resulting collision.

This time, with the Armoured Earth Dragon using a Skill, it seemed to have fought Lu Fan to a standstill.

Even so, this head-on clash still left everyone’s jaws dropped.

Lu Fan was truly intending to challenge a Dragon with his Human body…

Not only that, he was not at a disadvantage. This was the most outrageous part!

Everyone already thought that what Lu Fan was doing was incredibly absurd, but what happened next was even more unbelievable.
