Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 134, Hidden Mission and Rewards

Translator: Silavin

Lu Fan had not used this Skill before. Originally, he had planned to try feeding any equipment he was going to replace to Xiao Cui, to retain the equipment’s Special Traits or Additional Skills.

However, his current equipment was all Gold Grade. There was no need to replace them. In the first place, he did not have any better equipment to replace them with so he had no opportunity to let Xiao Cui try out this Skill.

Lu Fan could not be absolutely certain that this Skill would retain the special properties of the Dragon Summoning Bone Flute. If retained, whether it could be permanently used was another matter as well.

If Xiao Cui could summon Flying Dragon Kings as a Skill, which could be permanently kept, then the worth of this ‘consumable’ Dragon Summoning Bone Flute would be different in Lu Fan’s eyes.

If everything works out, it would be like gaining two more powerful helpers. Although the Combat Power of these two Flying Dragon Kings was inferior to Xiao Cui and Xiao Ye, in the eyes of ordinary people, these two Flying Dragon Kings were still Formidable existences.

Like Chen Tianzhi, who could become one of the top ten freshmen at Dragon Capital University. He managed to accomplish this with just one Earth Dragon of meagre Giant Dragon Bloodline.

In the future, Lu Fan might not even need Xiao Cui and Xiao Ye to act. With just these two Flying Dragon Kings, he might become invincible among Profession Change Players of the same Level!

Moreover, although the Flying Dragon Kings’ Attributes were not particularly high, they still have Dragon Bloodline in them. Xiao Cui’s Enhancement Buffs would also have double the Effect on them.

With Xiao Cui’s support, it would still be difficult for the two Flying Dragon Kings’ Four Attributes to exceed 10,000, but raising them to around 7,000 would not be an issue.

Furthermore, with the Dragon Language Unsealing Skill, these two Flying Dragon Kings would definitely be a headache for the enemies. They themselves could handle one-on-one fights with Level 60 Bosses.

After careful consideration, Lu Fan decided to let Xiao Cui try to use Devour and Assimilate; to see if she could retain the properties of the Dragon Summoning Bone Flute.

If she could permanently summon Flying Dragon Kings, that would be a huge gain. If it still only lasts three times, Lu Fan would not feel like he lost anything. After all, this Dragon Summoning Bone Flute was not considered an equipment. It did not provide Attributes, so it really did not matter if it got consumed.

He held the Dragon Summoning Bone Flute and looked at Xiao Cui, who was still in her Divine Tree Of Life Form. He told her, “Xiao Cui, transform into your Battle Form. I have something good for you to try and eat.”

After Lu Fan finished speaking, the Divine Tree Of Life that Xiao Cui had transformed into sent out a wave. Lu Fan intuitively understood that Xiao Cui was indicating that she was currently in her Divine Tree Of Life Form, healing the Flying Dragon Divine Tree where everyone was located.

After learning of Xiao Cui’s thoughts, Lu Fan was stunned. [You’re healing the Flying Dragon Divine Tree? But, it is just a Divine Tree used as the base for the Flying Dragon Nest. It already had its Divine Power absorbed by the Devouring Dragon King. Now, it is just an ordinary tree. What’s the point of saving this tree, much more, in a Secret Realm?]

However, after considering Xiao Cui’s view point, as a Support Specialised Jade Dragon King who could transform into a Divine Tree Of Life, Lu Fan could somewhat understand why she made the attempt. Currently, Xiao Cui was a Divine Tree, like the Flying Dragon Divine Tree. Although they did not have a direct connection, they shared many commonalities. It might be the case where after Xiao Cui transformed into her Divine Tree Of Life Form, she was able to communicate with the Flying Dragon Divine Tree.

Lu Fan chose not to stop Xiao Cui. He allowed her to remain in place, to continuously root into the Flying Dragon Divine Tree and pulse out Spring of Life.

At this moment, Jian Ying seemed to sense something unusual too. She looked around in surprise and stated, “Lu Fan, have you noticed that this giant tree seems to be changing… The marks left by the battle just now are continuously healing. Its branches and leaves are growing.”

Lu Fan looked around and found it to be true.

The canopy, which had been the battlefield just now, had all its scars and scorch marks completely erased. Now, it was replaced by a glowing green light representing vitality. Furthermore, this light was continuously spreading.

The branches and leaves of the Flying Dragon Divine Tree were growing rapidly, the canopy becoming increasingly lush, completely sheltering the treetop where Lu Fan was, displaying vigorous vitality. At the same time, those house-sized leaves were no longer ordinary as before. Accompanied by gentle sways, dots of green light flickering like stars, they looked magnificent and splendid.

In the blink of an eye, the Flying Dragon Divine Tree had undergone a great change, transforming from an ordinary giant tree to something more divine.

Lu Fan even sensed that the Divine Tree beneath his feet seemed to have awakened its long-dormant consciousness along with more Spring of Life pulses.

This consciousness was observing Xiao Cui in her Divine Tree Of Life Form, while conveying friendly emotions.

Xiao Cui had also sensed this presence and began to communicate with it.

Although Xiao Cui was a Jade Dragon King, she had transformed into a Divine Tree and was communicating with a tree, which was a truly incredible scene. Unbelievable almost. However, this was indeed happening.

This made Lu Fan feel amazed. At the same time, surprisingly, Lu Fan’s Mission Panel was updated again.

Opportune Mission – Revenge of the Flying Dragon Clan (Night Terror)
Required Participants: None

Clear Conditions: Defeat the Devouring Dragon King – Maw of the Abyss, and find the Life Dragon King – Root of Everything to receive the Clear Reward.

Current Progress: 0/1

Description: With the souls of the Flying Dragon King having been released, the Flying Dragon Cemetery should have returned to peace. By right, the previously called Flying Dragon Nest and now Flying Dragon Cemetery, should no longer exist.

However, a miraculous Life Essence has awakened the long-slumbering Flying Dragon Divine Tree, giving it new life.

The Divine Tree has regained part of its Divine Power, and its strong vitality will now gradually restore to its former strength. Perhaps, it might even nurture new twin Flying Dragon Kings again.

The Divine Tree has decided to thank you for your help and entrust you with a challenging task – to avenge the Flying Dragon Clan.

You will receive its Divine Tree Essence and a Seed of the Flying Dragon Divine Tree.

The Flying Dragon Divine Tree Seed would serve as proof of this agreement. If you manage to slay the Devouring Dragon King – Maw of the Abyss, you can dip a drop of its blood on this Seed. The Seed will guide you to find the Life Dragon King – Root of All Things, the being who originally planted the Flying Dragon Divine Tree. Once accomplished, you can claim the Clear Reward, and gain the favour of the Life Dragon King.

This was an Opportune Mission, not an Opportune Secret Realm. However, there was not much difference between the two. The way to obtain Opportune Missions was also extremely difficult, no less than finding a Hidden Stage inside an Opportune Secret Realm.

[Seems like this mission appeared on my Mission Panel because of Xiao Cui’s presence. She revitalised the Flying Dragon Divine Tree and restored its consciousness, allowing it to issue this Opportune Mission. What an opportunity!] Though Lu Fan thought this, the difficulty of this Mission made him sweat a little.

The Mission difficulty was Night Terror. This was something Lu Fan had never seen before. Just from the description alone, he believes this should be far beyond Nightmare Difficulty. After all, the target he had to kill was a powerful being like Xiao Ye and Xiao Cui, another Dragon King. The opponent’s Level was probably above 90. Otherwise, it would not have been able to so easily overwhelm the Flying Dragon Nest and leave.

[Such an existence is definitely not something I can handle right now. Fortunately, this Mission has no specific time frame it needed to be completed by. This means I could wait until I reached Level 60 and have my Third Profession Change, or even Level 90 and have my Fourth Profession Change. I can fully prepare before going to find this Devouring Dragon King to complete the Mission.]

[A Night Terror Difficulty Mission… Just from its name, anyone can tell if completed, the Clear Rewards would be even more generous than the Clear Rewards for the Flying Dragon Cemetery. What’s more, it will most likely be rewarded by the Life Dragon King!]

[Life Dragon King, just from its name, anyone can tell that this Dragon King is not to be trifled with. Moreover, this is the being that had planted the Flying Dragon Divine Tree. If it could casually plant a tree that developed into the Flying Dragon Nest, what would happen if I can manage to tame it as my Pet Dragon and have it plant dozens of trees at home? Wouldn’t that scene be incredible?]

As Lu Fan was lost in his thoughts, the Flying Dragon Divine Tree moved again.

Countless vines gathered, descending from mid-air to appear before Lu Fan.

At the same time, the vines were obviously wrapping something. When they came before Lu Fan, those vines unfurled, presenting the wrapped items to Lu Fan.

It was a green gemstone, smooth like a water droplet, very round, and a shrivelled seed that looked quite ordinary.

“What’s this…” Jian Ying did not receive the Mission, so she was surprised by this strange scene before her.

Lu Fan briefly explained, “It’s nothing. I seem to have triggered a Hidden Mission, so I get to receive additional rewards.”

Hearing this, Jian Ying felt relieved, while secretly thinking that not only was Lu Fan powerful, but his luck was also through the roof. To encounter a Hidden Mission in such a High Level Secret Realm, he must have gotten quite a few more treasures again.

Lu Fan picked up two items to look at them, and indeed, they were the Divine Tree Essence and Divine Tree Seed as mentioned in the Opportune Mission.

Divine Tree Essence: (Mythical Grade Special Item)
Description: The Essence of the Flying Dragon Divine Tree, coveted even by Giant Dragons.

After use, can upgrade the quality of any item or equipment by one Grade.

Divine Tree Seed: (Mythical Grade Mission Item)
Description: A Seed from the Flying Dragon Divine Tree. After dipping a drop of fresh blood from the Devouring Dragon King – Maw of Devouring on it, this Seed can be given to the Life Dragon King – Root of All Things in exchange for an extremely generous reward.

The descriptions of both items were not complicated, but they were both Mythical Grade items, which surprised Lu Fan.

The Divine Tree seed was understandable, as it was a Mission Item for a Nightmare Difficulty Mission, so being classified as ‘Mythical Grade’ made sense. However, the fact that this Divine Tree Essence was also Mythical Grade both surprised and delighted Lu Fan.

[The Divine Tree Essence could be considered a small sweetener given to me. To let me know just how generous this Mission is. It’s also something that can be used right away, and its Effect is described very broadly: to upgrade any item or equipment by one Grade. Guess this means I could turn Gold Equipment into Platinum, and Platinum into Diamond? If that’s the case, classifying it as Mythical Grade is indeed appropriate.]

Lu Fan did not want to waste such an amazing item, so he put it away. He hoped to see if there would be a better opportunity to use it in the future.
