Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 122, Clearing a Level 55 Secret Realm at Level 25? That’s Absurd!

Translator: Silavin

Soon, Jiang Fengyun responded to Lu Fan’s post, and the agreement to have a showdown after the freshmen exam spread throughout Dragon Capital University.

The battle to decide who would be the Freshmen King would be delayed, but not left unknown.

At the same time, the hype around this event had grown so much that the entire Dragon Capital University was talking about it. No one had expected that a group of freshmen, who had just arrived at Dragon Capital University, would cause such a stir.

Now, everyone was just waiting for the freshmen exam to end, to see who would be the strongest among the freshmen this year.

In the blink of an eye, it was already the next day.

In the evening, Zhao Shengming had Gu Han send a message to Lu Fan, saying that Dragon Capital University had secured the Flying Dragon Cemetery Secret Realm from the Secret Realm Hunters Guild’s auction. Early the next morning, Lu Fan would be able to take his teammate through the Transport Array to clear this Secret Realm.

After receiving the news, Lu Fan made preparations with Jian Ying. Han Ke even brought them a lot of provisions, all personally made by her. It not only could satisfy hunger but also increase their Attributes, and could be used as Potions.

Early the next morning, Lu Fan and Jian Ying, fully prepared, received Transfer Stones and credentials from the Secret Realm Hunters Guild. These were personally delivered by Zhao Shengming.

These two Transfer Stones were bought from the Secret Realm Hunters Guild and could teleport them to the location of the Secret Realm when used.

Lu Fan and Jian Ying simultaneously crushed the Transfer Stones, and after a tearing sensation, they arrived in a dense forest.

The trees in this forest were particularly tall, with the shortest being over a hundred metres high and as thick as three men’s embrace.

Countless trees blocked out the sky, making anyone feel particularly small when inside.

As soon as Lu Fan and Jian Ying were teleported here, they heard occasional huge noises from afar, as if some enormous creature was walking nearby.

It was obvious that this was likely a part of the Wilderness where High Level Monsters appeared. If they moved around carelessly, they could be in danger.

Just as Lu Fan and Jian Ying had teleported over and were surveying their surroundings, they suddenly heard a voice from the treetops. “You’re people from Dragon Capital University?”

Lu Fan looked up towards the voice and saw a figure gradually appearing on a tree branch, emerging from Concealment.

It was a thin, middle-aged man. Judging from his equipment and the fact that Lu Fan had not noticed his presence at first, it was clear that this person was of a very High Level.

On his chest was a badge, clearly the emblem of the Secret Realm Hunters Guild.

Seeing that this man was from the Secret Realm Hunters Guild, Lu Fan lowered his guard. Following what Zhao Shengming had said earlier, he took out the credentials and showed them to the middle-aged man, stating, “We are students from Dragon Capital University, here to clear the Secret Realm.”

The middle-aged man flipped down from the tree dozens of metres high, landing without making the slightest sound.

He walked forward, took Lu Fan’s credentials and looked at them, then nodded and said, “These are indeed credentials from our Secret Realm Hunters Guild.”

“Let me introduce myself. I’m a member of the Secret Realm Hunters Guild. You can call me Hei Shu (Black Rat). I’m temporarily guarding this Secret Realm, ensuring that no one else touches it before the buyers come to clear it. Since you’re the buyers, come with me. Once you clear the Secret Realm, my task here will be complete.” Saying this, he led the way. It seemed that the location of the Secret Realm was still some distance away.

Lu Fan and Jian Ying followed behind him, trudging forward.

Hei Shu seemed to be a talkative person. Seeing that Lu Fan and Jian Ying were quite young, he asked how high their Levels were. After all, they dared to come and clear a Level 55 Nightmare difficulty Secret Realm.

When he learned that Lu Fan was Level 25 and Jian Ying was Level 24, Hei Shu’s body suddenly stiffened. He stopped moving, turned his head to look at them in utter disbelief.

“Only Level 25? Coming to clear a Level 55 Nightmare difficulty Secret Realm!? Has Dragon Capital University gone mad!?”

“Boy, girl, forget about clearing Flying Dragon Cemetery, even if we just leave you here, you might not survive a day. Do you know what Level this area is?”

Lu Fan rubbed his nose and smiled, “A Level 55 Nightmare difficulty Secret Realm… is not that hard.”

“Nonsense!” Hei Shu had a kind heart, and upon learning that Lu Fan and Jian Ying were only Level 25 Profession Change Players, he immediately lost interest in leading the way to the Secret Realm.

“No, I need to confirm with Dragon Capital University if they really sent two students who haven’t even had their Second Profession Change to clear this Secret Realm.”

“This Two Player Secret Realm is something even Third Profession Change Players might not be able to Clear, let alone you two? Dragon Capital University didn’t deliberately send you here to die, right?”

Saying this, Hei Shu was about to turn back, while also instructing, “You two stick close to me! This place is too dangerous for you. You’re only Level 25, any Monster you encounter could kill you!”

Seeing how unnecessary concerned Hei Shu was, Lu Fan felt helpless.

However, thinking about it, two Level 25 Profession Change Players coming to clear a Level 55 Nightmare difficulty Secret Realm indeed seemed exceptionally strange.

However, Lu Fan and Jian Ying were undoubtedly the ones sent to clear the Flying Dragon Cemetery Secret Realm. Lu Fan did not want Hei Shu to waste time and thought it best to have him quickly lead the way to find the Flying Dragon Cemetery Secret Realm entrance.

“Brother Hei Shu, there’s no need to waste time on this. We’re really sent by Dragon Capital University to clear Flying Dragon Cemetery. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have gotten the Transfer Stones and the credentials…” Just as Lu Fan was about to explain, a sudden thunderous wind explosion sounded above their heads.

It was followed by a series of wind blades sweeping through, cutting the tall trees around them in half, causing chaos.

The three looked up and saw a huge Monster Bird flapping its wings in mid-air, its crimson eyes already fixed on Lu Fan and the others.

This Monster Bird had a wingspan of nearly twenty metres, very much like a Giant Eagle, but instead of feathers, it was covered in green scales.

Hei Shu took one look at this Monster Bird and immediately drew out a black dagger, warning, “This is a Level 60 Elite Monster, Green Dragon Eagle. It looks like it’s treating us as prey. See this? Even the Monsters outside are already this terrifying. Do you think you, at your Level 25, can clear a Secret Realm that spawns such Monsters? Quickly, find a place to hide. After I kill this Green Dragon Eagle, I’ll send you back to see if Dragon Capital University had made a mistake. They’ve sent you two to a place you shouldn-…”

Before the last word ‘shouldn-’ could come out of his mouth, Lu Fan’s interrupted him.

“Roar of the Blue Dragon King!” A phantom Blue Dragon suddenly formed, opened its mouth, and spewed out a Sea of Lightning, instantly enveloping the Green Dragon Eagle.

Immediately, thunder roared incessantly in the sky, countless Sea of Lightnings engulfed the Green Dragon Eagle. Lightning arcs crackled and striked its body, causing it to wail repeatedly.

Three seconds later, the Green Dragon Eagle, charred all over, fell from the sky, crashing to the ground with a boom. There was no movement once it fell, and no one knew whether it was alive or dead at this point.

But without a doubt, if Lu Fan wanted to, killing that Green Dragon Eagle would definitely be an easy task.

Hei Shu was completely stunned. The crackling electric arcs on Lu Fan’s body had not completely dissipated yet, and he could clearly tell that Lu Fan was the one who cast that Skill.

However, a Level 25 Profession Change Player one-shotting a Level 60 Elite Monster! This was too damn absurd!

Seeing Hei Shu’s mouth hanging open, Lu Fan shrugged and said, “Brother Hei Shu, we are really here to clear Flying Dragon Cemetery. There’s absolutely no mistake. My name is Lu Fan, and this is Jian Ying. Dragon Capital University should have mentioned our names to you before, right?”

“This… but…” Hei Shu could not come to his senses for a long time, looking at Lu Fan, then at the Green Dragon Eagle that had fallen not far away.

He had indeed received a message, which stated he was to guide Lu Fan and Jian Ying from Dragon Capital University.

Although the names matched, Hei Shu thought that those coming to clear the Secret Realm should at least be Level 50 Players. A Level 25 and a Level 24, was too much!

Yet, now, Lu Fan had one-shotted a Level 60 Elite Monster with a single Skill, displaying his godly might. He had also revealed his name, which matched those the Guild had told him to guide. Hei Shu had no reason to further verify Lu Fan and Jian Ying’s identities.

So, Hei Shu nodded, still in a somewhat dazed state, “Al… alright, if that’s the case, then I’ll continue to lead the way…”

Despite saying this, Hei Shu still had a questioning look on his face.

After walking for about two kilometres, Hei Shu finally stopped at the foot of an enormous ancient tree.

This ancient tree was particularly huge, thick enough for twenty people to embrace, far larger than any other tree. At the bottom of the ancient tree, the roots were gnarled, and in the centre, a Secret Realm entrance could be seen.

“This is it.” Hei Shu, having somewhat recovered from the shock, pointed at the Secret Realm entrance and said, “You can enter Flying Dragon Cemetery from here. If you want to clear it, you can go in at any time. I’ll wait for you here and send you back to Dragon Capital University when you come out.”

“Alright, thank you.” Lu Fan smiled at Hei Shu.

Meanwhile, Hei Shu looked embarrassed, staring at Lu Fan as if he was looking at a Monster.

Just as Lu Fan was about to leave, he suddenly stopped and turned to Hei Shu, saying, “Brother Hei Shu, us meeting here can be considered fate, don’t you think?”

Hei Shu was stunned, not understanding what Lu Fan was up to: “I suppose it could be considered fate…”

Lu Fan smiled and said, “Since that’s the case, I’d like to befriend you. What do you think? You Secret Realm Hunters travel all over the world, you must have been to many places that others have never even heard of. I’m very curious about those hidden parts of the world. I often hear that some places are very interesting, but I have no clue where they are. I’m wondering if we could exchange contact information? That way, if I’m curious, I could ask you if you know about it. If not, get you to ask those in your Secret Realm Hunters Guild who have been there and know where it is. Of course, I would provide compensation for any of my queries.”
