Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 102, A Clean and Swift Kill

Translator: Silavin

Lu Fan’s Agility Attribute was exceptionally high, making his reaction speed and Movement Speed far more formidable than anyone present.

The instant the spider silk shot towards him, he reacted, raising his Dragon Claw to block it.

The spider silk immediately wrapped around his Dragon Claw. It was incredibly tough while continuously emitting black mist and releasing poison, attempting to paralyse Lu Fan and render him powerless to resist being dragged away.

The spider silk tightened, instantly becoming taut, trying to pull Lu Fan back to the location of the Black Web Hunter that had released it.

All of this happened almost instantaneously, giving no one time to react.

Seeing Lu Fan caught by the spider silk without Jade Shield, everyone’s hearts tightened. Jian Ying and Qin Qiu were about to make their move. The former tried to use the Blood Breaking Sword and the latter tried to use Holy Light Magic to rescue Lu Fan.

However, after being entangled by the spider silk, Lu Fan’s body remained as immovable as iron. Even though the spider silk was stretched to its limit, making a teeth-grinding *creaking* sound, it still could not make Lu Fan budge a single step.

At this moment, everyone suddenly remembered, Lu Fan’s Strength Attribute was so incredibly high that the Black Web Hunter trying to capture him had likely kicked an iron plate.

Lu Fan gripped the spider silk with his Dragon Claw. He made a small smile, and looked in the direction of the silk. Sure enough, he saw a Black Web Hunter hanging upside down from a tree. It was trying hard to tighten the spider silk, but the difference in Strength instantly reversed the roles of hunter and prey.

Originally, the toxins on the spider silk could greatly weaken the Attributes of anyone who touched it, but Lu Fan’s Dragon Bloodline provided Resistance to Debuff and Negative Statuses. It had essentially allowed him to ignore such worries.

Lu Fan gently tugged with his Dragon Claw, and the immense force caused the Black Web Hunter’s massive body to fall from its web, crashing heavily to the ground.

Lu Fan looked at Jian Ying and reminded her, “Jian Ying, don’t get distracted.”

Jian Ying suddenly realised that the Black Web Hunter should have been her target to deal with. That she should have attacked the Black Web Hunter the instant Lu Fan was ambushed, but the Strength and Agility Attributes Lu Fan had just displayed, as well as his Debuff Resistance, had greatly surprised Jian Ying. Her attention was naturally taken away for that moment.

Now, after being reminded by Lu Fan, Jian Ying clearly knew what she should do.

The Blood Breaking Sword flew out directly, striking the Black Web Hunter held by Lu Fan. With just three strikes, this Level 45 Mini Boss was decapitated.

At this moment, golden light flashed over both Han Ke and Xiao Cui. They had Levelled up.

Seeing this, Lu Fan smiled, thinking that the experience in this Dungeon Instance was indeed quite generous. With five people sharing experience, Xiao Cui had already reached Level 3 in such a short time.

He estimated that after clearing this Dungeon Instance, reaching Level 5 would not be a problem. After a few more runs, they could even get Xiao Cui to Level 15, evolving to her Growth Period.

Lu Fan casually released the spider web he was holding and said to Han Ke, who was delighted by her Level up, “Auntie, as you can see, you can rest assured. Even without Jade Shield, these Monsters are no match for me.”

Han Ke nodded, putting her mind at ease, but still reminded Lu Fan to be careful regardless.

Lu Fan smiled and was about to agree when two more Silver Armoured Spiders rushed over.

It seemed this was a wave of Monsters, but Lu Fan had killed them too quickly. The first Silver Armoured Spider and the Black Web Hunter were already dead, and the other two Silver Armoured Spiders had just arrived.

Lu Fan did not hesitate. Using his Wind Spirit Whisperer Ring, he gave himself the Wind Spirit Whisperer Blessing, increasing his Agility Attribute by 35%, and then used Flash Spirit Leap to appear above one of the Silver Armoured Spiders.

His Dragon Claw came down with a *bang!* Easily smashing one Silver Armoured Spider.

Taking advantage of the Wind Spirit Whisperer Blessing Buff, Lu Fan’s Agility Attribute skyrocketed, making his body extremely agile and fast. In the blink of an eye, he had killed the other Silver Armoured Spider, smashing it with one punch.

This Silver Armoured Spider had not even realised what was happening when it saw its companion’s body explode. It merely felt a pain in its body before being blown apart by Lu Fan’s punch.

From start to finish, in everyone’s eyes, it looked like two Silver Armoured Spiders were charging towards the group when one after another exploded, with Lu Fan appearing beside their carcasses. He shook off the silver blood on his Dragon Claw as he walked back to the group.

Everything was done so cleanly and swiftly, without any delay or difficulty. Even someone as strong as Jian Ying was stunned, rooted to where she stood. After all, when it came to slaughtering these Silver Armoured Spiders, Lu Fan was clearly much more at ease than her.

What she needed to use the Blood Breaking Sword to accomplish, Lu Fan could do casually. This meant that Lu Fan’s Strength Attribute was at a ridiculous level. More importantly, Lu Fan always had a Black Dragon by his side that had not even acted yet.

Lu Fan had only let a Baby Dragon that needed to Level Up add a few Buffs to everyone, nothing more.

A Baby Dragon that needed Levelling and a Dragon Tamer who personally took action had already shown such Combat Power. If that Black Dragon were to take action as well, what kind of scene would it be!? It would be unimaginable…

Jian Ying suddenly felt that her status as the top genius from North Cloud Province in a decade did not seem so extraordinary compared to Lu Fan.

Lu Fan’s true strength was probably enough to easily crush her.

Thinking of this, when Jian Ying looked at Lu Fan again, her gaze had changed dramatically. From the original wariness and dislike, it had turned into a kind of fear.

However, when Jian Ying thought about it, there seemed to be nothing for her to be in fear of. Because she was not Lu Fan’s enemy, and they were now on the same team clearing a Dungeon Instance.

Now that Lu Fan had demonstrated his Combat Power, Jian Ying felt that the burden on her shoulders was much lighter.

Originally, due to her Profession, she should have been positioned more like an Archer rather than a Swordsman needed to tank Monsters.

With Lu Fan replacing the position in the frontline, able to easily kill Silver Armoured Spiders, she could stay in the second line to guard against Black Web Hunter attacks, specifically looking for Black Web Hunters to kill, making her feel more comfortable in the team.

Teaming up with a strong Player naturally made clearing Dungeon Instances much easier. Not to mention, just Lu Fan in the frontline, along with the Jade Dragon’s three extremely useful Skills, made Jian Ying feel very reassured.

[So, this is the feeling of having good teammates…] Jian Ying, who had always preferred to act alone, felt that perhaps having teammates was not that unpleasant after all.

After easily killing two Silver Armoured Spiders, Lu Fan called for everyone to continue advancing.

Because Lu Fan now personally took action, it gave everyone a great sense of security. The group’s forward progress became faster.

The Monsters the team encountered next were basically combinations of Silver Armoured Spiders and Black Web Hunters.

Once Silver Armoured Spiders appeared, Lu Fan could easily crush them after closing in with a Flash Spirit Leap. The Black Web Hunters in the darkness could not escape Jian Ying’s Blood Breaking Sword. A wave of Monsters, from the moment they appeared, would not last a minute before turning into Experience Points, shared equally among everyone.

In the blink of an eye, the group had been clearing the Dungeon Instance for nearly three hours. After defeating another wave of Monsters and Han Ke Levelling Up again, the group rested on the spot for a while. They ate some food brought by Han Ke to replenish their energy, and then continued advancing.

As they went deeper, new Monsters appeared, such as the Level 45 Mini Boss Sword Leg Ghost Spider, the Level 45 Normal Boss Poisonous Black Wolf Spider, the Level 45 Difficult Boss Savage Mountain Spider and etc.

They were mixed in with the Silver Armoured Spiders and Black Web Hunters, and each time they appeared, the difficulty of the Dungeon Instance increased a bit.

However, with the cooperation of Lu Fan and Jian Ying, these Monsters were still easily cleared.

Moreover, with the Experience Points provided by the various Bosses that kept appearing was generous. Xiao Cui had even reached Level 4, with her Attributes soaring greatly.

After another three hours of exploration, the group had been clearing the Dungeon Instance for nearly seven hours.

Lu Fan could not help but sigh that this Dungeon Instance was really too big. It was more than twenty times larger than the Despair Village Secret Realm.

His group had advanced so far already, yet they still had not found the location of the Final Boss.

Although there were many Boss Monsters among the smaller ones, providing considerable Experience Points, the really high Experience Point Reward from a Dungeon Instance was still from the Final Boss and the Clear Reward after clearing the Dungeon Instance.

To Level Up quickly, it was not about killing many Mobs, but about clearing the Dungeon Instance as quickly as possible.

Just as Lu Fan was feeling frustrated about not finding the Final Boss, the group discovered that the Poison Spider Forest seemed to end just up ahead. The dense trees abruptly stopped, and it seemed like they had reached the edge of a cliff.

“Huh? Seems like we’ve reached the edge of the Dungeon Instance. Did we take a wrong turn?” Tao Xiaoman felt strange and, relying on her Jade Shield, went forward to take a look.

Lu Fan also looked at the map in the Mission Panel, feeling strange.

The map of the Poison Spider Forest was not actually that complex, just a long, strip-shaped map.

Lu Fan led the way, naturally choosing to pass through the middle of the map. This way, Mobs from both sides could be attracted, and according to the Dungeon Instance design, the deepest part should be where the Final Boss was located.

Since he had already reached the deepest middle part of the Dungeon Instance, he should be able to see the Final Boss. So, why did the trees of the Poison Spider Forest suddenly stop ahead, with a cliff?

[Could it be that the Final Boss is not in the deepest part of the map, but in another hidden location, and we need to go back and carefully explore the Poison Spider Forest?] Lu Fan studied the map and found this was not the case. Because where they were was not actually the deepest part of the map.

Up ahead, there was still a large unexplored area.

[It’s not that far ahead. There is clearly a cliff here, and the boundary of the Poison Spider Forest abruptly ends there?]

Just as Lu Fan was pondering in bewilderment, Tao Xiaoman, at the front, suddenly let out a startled scream. She staggered back from the edge of the cliff, her face pale as she pointed down the cliff: “Bo…Boss! I saw the Final Boss!”
