Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 135, My Pet Dragon’s Pets Are Flying Dragon Kings

Translator: Silavin

After putting away all the items, Xiao Cui also completed her task and transformed back into her Battle Form. Flapping her wings, she came to Lu Fan’s side.

After that little interlude, Lu Fan could now officially experiment to see if Xiao Cui could Devour and Assimilate the Dragon Summoning Bone Flute and turn it into a Permanent Skill.

Lu Fan took out the Dragon Summoning Bone Flute and placed it in front of Xiao Cui, asking expectantly, “Xiao Cui, can you see if you can eat this? You have that Devour and Assimilate Skill, right? How about eating this and retaining its properties?”

Xiao Cui sniffed the Dragon Summoning Bone Flute in Lu Fan’s hand, blinked twice, seemingly questioning, ‘Can this thing really be eaten?’

Jian Ying, seeing this scene, was also very curious and asked Lu Fan what he was doing, why he was feeding a Secret Realm Clear Reward he had just obtained to Xiao Cui. After all, this was obviously not food. Making Xiao Cui eat it raw seemed like a tall order for her.

Lu Fan briefly explained, mentioning Xiao Cui’s ability to retain properties and Skills of equipment, permanently turning them into her own Skills. This amazed Jian Ying.

However, Xiao Cui kept sniffing the Dragon Summoning Bone Flute, showing no intention of biting it, which disappointed Lu Fan.

[Seems like Xiao Cui doesn’t like this kind of Special Item. If it is ordinary equipment, would Xiao Cui have started eating by now?] Lu Fan did not want to force Xiao Cui. Seeing that she did not seem to want to eat the Dragon Summoning Bone Flute, he was about to take it back and give it to his Auntie later.

However, just as Lu Fan was about to take back the Dragon Summoning Bone Flute, Xiao Cui suddenly opened her mouth and grabbed the bone flute. She hugged it with her two small claws and started munching on it.

The Dragon Summoning Bone Flute was already very worn, probably not very hard. As soon as Xiao Cui bit into it, the bone flute was directly crushed, like a potato chip.

Xiao Cui took a couple of bites, seeming to find the taste not bad. In no time, the entire Dragon Summoning Bone Flute was devoured by Xiao Cui.

After eating, Xiao Cui shook off the residue on her hands, then patted her belly, as if asking Lu Fan to check if she did a good job.

[She really ate it!?] Lu Fan was both surprised and delighted, immediately opening Xiao Cui’s Attribute Panel.

Sure enough, under the Devour and Assimilate Skill, a new Skill appeared.

Dragon Summoning Bone Flute (Active, LV1): When casted, can summon two Flying Dragon Kings to fight for the caster. The Flying Dragon Kings’ Level matches the caster’s Level. Once all Flying Dragon Kings die in battle, the Skill would need twenty-four hours before it can be casted again.
Currently summonable:

Flying Dragon King (Demi-Dragon)

Level: 28

…

When the Dragon Summoning Bone Flute became a Skill, it really did lose the three-time usage limit. Now, there was only a cooldown when both Dragons died in battle.

After twenty-four hours, the two Flying Dragon Kings could be summoned again.

Even with Lu Fan’s current Strength, to kill these two Flying Dragon Kings, he would still need Xiao Cui and Xiao Ye.

Flying Dragon Kings also had Dragon Bloodline in them, so Xiao Cui’s Buffs had double the Effect on them. Just the life-saving Jade Shield alone gave each Flying Dragon King fourteen shields. So, who could possibly kill them?

This Skill basically gave Lu Fan two more Flying Dragon Kings as Pet Dragons.

The only pity was that the summoned Flying Dragon Kings’ Level was linked to Xiao Cui’s Level. Thus, they were only Level 19, and their Attributes had greatly decreased from before.

Moreover, they were considered Summons from a Skill, not Lu Fan’s Pet Dragons. Thus, they could not provide any Attribute Boost to Lu Fan through Bloodline Sharing.

Still, having two more powerful ‘Pet Dragons’, those that could be sent to die without worry, was still a huge boost to Lu Fan’s Combat Power.

Lu Fan thought for a moment, then patted Xiao Cui’s head and commanded, “Xiao Cui, use the Dragon Summoning Bone Flute.”

“Yiiii!” Xiao Cui nodded obediently, then her body lit up with a glowing green light, shining in mid-air to Form two huge Summoning Arrays.

Two Flying Dragon Kings, several sizes smaller than their original Final Boss Form, flew out from the Arrays. They carried fierce gusts of wind with them, flying above Lu Fan and Jian Ying’s heads.

The sudden appearance of two Flying Dragon Kings startled Jian Ying. She immediately drew out all her weapons, looking ready for battle.

Seeing this, Lu Fan laughed and patted her shoulder, saying, “Don’t not to get worried, these aren’t Bosses, they’re my Summons.”

“Your… Summons!?” Jian Ying could not help but stutter. She looked at the two Flying Dragon Kings in the sky, identical in appearance to the earlier Final Bosses, the only difference being that they were much smaller, clearly of a Lower Level. At the same time, they were genuine Flying Dragons, not just Ghosts like the previous Final Bosses.

Lu Fan nodded and said, “That bone flute from earlier could summon two Flying Dragon Kings, but it could only be used three times, which makes it quite useless. I had Xiao Cui use Devour and Assimilate to eat the Dragon Summoning Bone Flute, retaining this Skill. Now, I can have Xiao Cui summon these two Flying Dragon Kings, without any usage limit.”

“…” Jian Ying was speechless.

This Dragon Summoning Bone Flute should have been a reward from the Flying Dragon Kings to Lu Fan for releasing their souls, meaning they were willing to help him three times in the future. However, Lu Fan certainly outplayed them. He had binding the two Flying Dragon Kings for life.

It was no different from saying, ‘Think you can leave after helping three times? Where is there such a good deal? Once you’re on my ship, there’s no getting off!’

And so, the two Flying Dragon Kings had been enslaved by Lu Fan.

Lu Fan was quite generous to Jian Ying, showing her the Attributes of the two Flying Dragon Kings.

After seeing them, Jian Ying was even more speechless.

Because the Flying Dragon Kings’ Attributes and Skills were too overpowered, Jian Ying estimated that in a one-on-one fight, she would have no chance against a single Flying Dragon King.

It was not just that Lu Fan had two such Flying Dragon Kings, these two Flying Dragon Kings were the Pets of Lu Fan’s Pet Dragon.

[How is this possible!?]

Seeing that even someone as cool as Jian Ying now looked like she did not want to deal with him any longer, Lu Fan burst into laughter. He had Xiao Cui recall the two Flying Dragon Kings and suggested to Jian Ying that they should head back since they had finished clearing the Secret Realm. It was time to return to Dragon Capital University.

Jian Ying had no objections. Conveniently, the Transport Array to leave the Secret Realm had also appeared.

Jian Ying went in first, leaving through the Transport Array.

Lu Fan, seeing Jian Ying leave, did not immediately depart. Instead, he had a very important task to do: Claim the Treasure Map!

Lu Fan opened the System Panel and compared the coordinates of the Peak Grade Treasure Map. After walking a few steps, he arrived at the correct coordinates.

Lu Fan was overjoyed. [My third Dragon Egg has finally arrived!]

Lu Fan glanced at the Dragon Egg in his System Sub-Space. This Dragon Egg was completely different from Xiao Cui and Xiao Ye’s Dragon Eggs. It was overall a deep blue, almost black colour. Most amazingly, there were countless points of light flickering on the Dragon Egg, making it look as if countless stars had been painted on its surface.

Lu Fan knew Jian Ying was still waiting for him outside. So, he did not rush to check the Dragon Egg’s Attributes or use Dragon Taming on it.

After Claiming the Treasure Map, Lu Fan directly walked to the Secret Realm’s Transport Array and left.

Almost immediately after, Lu Fan and Jian Ying arrived in the original dense forest.

At this time, it had been only about a day and a half since Lu Fan and Jian Ying had entered the Flying Dragon Cemetery. The sun was setting, it was about to become evening. Returning to Dragon Capital University at this time would allow for a good night’s rest.

After Lu Fan and Jian Ying walked out of the Secret Realm, they looked around, searching for traces of Hei Shu.

After a moment, rustling sounds came from not far away. Hei Shu, as agile as a monkey, leaped among the thick trees and quickly arrived.

Seeing Lu Fan and Jian Ying come out of the Secret Realm, Hei Shu was astonished. He looked them up and down and asked, “How did you come out so quickly? This is a Level 55 Nightmare difficulty Secret Realm. Generally speaking, to clear it, it would take about five days at least… Or, did you not clear it and give up?”

Towards the end, there was inevitably some regret in Hei Shu’s tone. After all, he understood the value of this Secret Realm. Dragon Capital University had spent a fortune to buy this Secret Realm, but not getting the Clear Rewards would be a huge loss.

Lu Fan chuckled and said, “No. We came out after clearing it. We’ve already got all the Clear Rewards.”

“Huh!?” Hei Shu was shocked. [You’ve actually cleared it!?]

He knew Lu Fan was strong, but Lu Fan’s Level was still just that. He was Level 25. Clearing a Level 55 Nightmare difficulty Secret Realm, was already a pipe dream. It was only natural for Hei Shui to think, when Lu Fan came out of the Secret Realm only after a day and a half, that he gave up. In fact, Hei Shu was feeling all sad and regretful earlier since he was convinced such a precious Secret Realm had been wasted.

Lu Fan saying he had cleared the Secret Realm was undoubtedly a bombshell Hei Shu found hard to believe. It had completely shattered his understanding of the world.

[Clearing a Level 55 Nightmare difficulty Secret Realm at Level 25 is one thing, but you cleared it in a day and a half! Are you kidding me!?] Hei Shu instinctively looked at the Secret Realm entrance and was stunned to find that it was gradually crumbling, clearly the scene of a Secret Realm after being cleared, with its energy exhausted.

If it had not been cleared, the Secret Realm would turn into a vortex, gradually disappearing over time, only to reopen somewhere else after absorbing enough energy.

In other words, this Secret Realm had indeed been cleared by Lu Fan.

*Siiiii* Hei Shu could not help but draw in a sharp breath.

“Brother Hei Shu,” Lu Fan called out to Hei Shu, bringing him back to his senses, “We’ve cleared the Secret Realm, shouldn’t we head back now?”

Lu Fan was eager to get back and study the Dragon Egg he had claimed, so he was naturally in a hurry to return.

“Oh… right, we should head back…” Hei Shu came to his senses, scratched his head, and said embarrassedly, “I thought you would stay in the Secret Realm for seven or eight days, so I just set up the tent and made a camp… Can you wait for me a bit? Once I pack everything up, I’ll take you back to Dragon Capital University.”
