Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 129, Black Dragon Pressure

Translator: Silavin

Besides the increase in Attributes, the biggest change was that in her World Destroyer Form, Xiao Ye gained another Skill.

When Xiao Ye previously learned Great Cataclysm, Lu Fan had guessed that Xiao Ye would likely learn a new Skill in her World Destroyer Form next. After all, Xiao Ye belonged to the Black Dragon Race that developed evenly in both Magic and Physical. Her development in these two directions should be balanced.

Since she had learned the apocalyptic Skill, Great Cataclysm, in her Destruction Dragon Form, there should also be a corresponding powerful Skill in her World Destroyer Form.

And now, this Skill had finally arrived.

Black Dragon Pressure (Active, LV1) – In World Destroyer Form, the Black Dragon King can continuously release Dragon Pressure, causing enemies within range to be Intimidated.
[The Intimidated Status Effect is related to the difference in Strength Attribute between both parties. When the difference is small, it triggers fear, demoralisation, and other minor negative Effects; when the difference is large, it triggers a Stun. I guess this has some similarities to Great Cataclysm. It has an extremely large Area of Effect and lasts for a very long time. But, unlike Great Cataclysm which focuses on damage, Black Dragon Pressure is more focused on Crowd Control.]

Lu Fan believes that this Skill should be similar to a technique called ‘Conqueror’s Haki’, which was from a popular manga he had read in his previous life on Blue Star.

Although it did some if not no damage, once Black Dragon Pressure was released, all surrounding enemies would be suppressed, covered in Debuffs. They would find it hard to retaliate.

If the difference in Strength Attribute with Xiao Ye was very large, they would even be directly stunned by Xiao Ye’s Dragon Pressure.

Under extreme conditions, Xiao Ye’s Strength Attribute could exceed 50,000. It would be very hard to find enemies that have Strength Attribute close to hers and not get Stun.

[Basically, this is a Perpetual Mass Stun Skill. It isn’t like Frightening Roar, which could only Stun for a period of time. As long as they are within the range of Black Dragon Pressure, it seems like they wouldn’t be able to move even if they wanted to. Such a Crowd Control Skill is the best tool for mowing down enemies! In future Dungeon Instances, once Xiao Ye activates Black Dragon Pressure, no matter how many Mobs come after her, they would all be easy targets. She just needs to stand there and directly harvest using (Dragon Qi Attack). Moreover, this Skill is still only Level 1!  Who knows if, as its Level increases, this Skill might cause substantial damage like a ‘certain non-fruit ability user’ from that manga?]

This Skill had endless potential, and Lu Fan was very optimistic about it.

After killing this Boss, Lu Fan took a look at the Treasure Map in his System Sub-Space and found that the location of the coordinates was still some distance away from him. [Seemed like this Treasure Map can only be claimed in the deepest part of Flying Dragon Cemetery.]

Lu Fan was not in a hurry though. After all, this Secret Realm gave extremely rich Experience Points, and with two cheat-like existences like Xiao Ye and Xiao Cui helping him Level Up, Lu Fan would not mind staying here for a while.

After killing this Boss, Xiao Ye and Xiao Cui went ahead to clear the way, seeing if they could find any ‘tough’ opponents.

Lu Fan and Jian Ying did not have time to rest and followed behind these two Dragons.

After nearly three more hours of climbing, Lu Fan and Jian Ying estimated that they had climbed at least 3,000 metres in height.

Looking up, the vine path still had no end in sight, winding upwards and disappearing into the deep canopy of the Flying Dragon Divine Tree.

The Flying Dragon Divine Tree towered into the clouds, its huge canopy blocking out the sky, seeming to hold up the sky.

The canopy appeared to not be that far from Lu Fan and Jian Ying. However, Lu Fan knew the principle that such landmarks merely looked close, but they were in fact really far away when they needed to travel towards it.

To reach the deepest part of this Secret Realm, there was probably still a long way to go.

Fortunately, along the way, Lu Fan and Jian Ying just needed to climb upwards. Xiao Ye and Xiao Cui took care of all the Monsters. They need not lift a finger.

Lu Fan did not let Xiao Ye experiment with the power of Black Dragon Pressure though. After all, there was no real need to use such a Skill in this Secret Realm.

After all, any enemy that entered Black Dragon Pressure’s range would not last two seconds before being torn apart by Xiao Cui’s (Dragon Qi Attack), rendering the Crowd Control Effect of Black Dragon Pressure mute.

Finally, at the tree’s waist, the group encountered the third Main Stage Boss, Elemental Three-Headed Flying Dragon Soul.

This was a Level 65 Nightmare Boss, far stronger than the Undead Steel Bone Flying Dragon from the previous battle.

The Elemental Three-Headed Flying Dragon was also a top-tier existence among the Flying Dragons. It had three heads, each capable of releasing Wind, Fire, and Ice Elemental Magic. Moreover, the Magic Attacks from each head could be combined to unleash even greater power. Thus, The Elemental Three-Headed Flying Dragons were considered as a top-tier Mage among the Flying Dragons.

Correspondingly, its defence was certainly far inferior to Flying Dragons like the Steel Bone Flying Dragon, but this Boss was accompanied by four Undead Bronze Flying Dragon guards, serving as the frontline.

When Lu Fan and Jian Ying caught up with Xiao Ye and Xiao Cui, Xiao Ye was already engaged in battle with the four Undead Bronze Flying Dragons.

In no time, the four Terror Bosses, the Undead Bronze Flying Dragons, were killed, allowing Jian Ying’s Ten Thousand Flowers to Level Up again.

Next to be dealt with was the Elemental Three-Headed Flying Dragon Soul.

This Boss had very strong Magic Attacks. While Xiao Ye was fighting the Undead Bronze Flying Dragons, it had been continuously releasing its Magic Skills to bombard Xiao Ye.

However, these attacks were easily blocked by (Dragon Qi Defence), unable to cause any damage to Xiao Ye.

After dealing with the small fries, Xiao Ye pounced on the Elemental Three-Headed Flying Dragon Soul. After one strike, she found that this Boss was actually a Ghost Monster, which made it almost Immune to Physical Attacks.

Xiao Ye’s claw passed through the Elemental Three-Headed Flying Dragon Soul’s body, tearing open a small hole. However, this small hole was quickly healed. It was did not take on as much damage as the bombardment from (Dragon Qi Attack).

Xiao Ye was immediately disgruntled. With Lu Fan’s permission, she transformed into her Battle Form. Although her Strength Attribute was halved, her Physical and Magic Attacks had became more balanced.

Xiao Ye spewed out a Lava Blaze, and the Elemental Three-Headed Flying Dragon Soul also breathed out Dragon Breath, engaging in a head-on collision with Xiao Ye.

In terms of Attributes, even though this Elemental Three-Headed Flying Dragon Soul was a Level 65 Boss, it could not be compared to Xiao Ye, who had Xiao Cui’s support.

Xiao Ye did not even need to transform into her Destruction Dragon Form. Just the Lava Blaze in her Battle Form overwhelmed the opponent. The flames of Lava Blaze directly suppressed the opponent’s Dragon Breath fused from three Elements.

The pure Magic Attack caused enormous damage to the Elemental Three-Headed Flying Dragon Soul, which was only a spiritual enetity. The Boss tried to escape, but Xiao Cui’s (Dragon Qi Attack) kept falling. Every time it tried to escape from the range of Lava Blaze, it would be beaten back by (Dragon Qi Attack), not even having a chance to escape.

In no time, this Elemental Three-Headed Undead Flying Dragon, with a resentful roar, dissipated into nothingness.

Only then did Xiao Ye withdraw her Lava Blaze, looking very proud.

This battle took only a few minutes from start to finish, and a Boss that would give a full team of Third Profession Change Players a headache was killed.

Although Jian Ying had already become numb to this, after witnessing it all firsthand, her expression was still very complex.

For her, she could not even participate in this kind of battle because the difference in Combat Power and Level was far too great. [Comparing others to oneself can really be frustrating… Can’t the Dragon Tamer Profession be more reasonable?]

For Lu Fan, he also could not participate in this kind of battle because his Pet Dragons had already settled everything.

After this Boss battle, Lu Fan also Levelled up, reaching Level 27, getting one step closer to his Second Profession Change. [Seems like reaching Level 30 and completing my Second Profession Change before the National Trial should not be a problem.]

Lu Fan was looking forward to seeing how many branches his Dragon Tamer Profession would have for his Second Profession Change, and what Profession Characteristics each would have.

After killing the Elemental Undead Flying Dragon, calculating the time, Lu Fan and Jian Ying had been in this Secret Realm for nearly a full day.

Although Lu Fan and Jian Ying had not fought much and had not used up much of their Stamina, Lu Fan still decided to stop and rest for half an hour before setting out again.

The two people and two Dragons enjoyed a meal of food prepared by Han Ke, rested for a while, and then set out again.

On the following journey, Undead Dragons gradually decreased, replaced by Flying Dragon Souls.

These Ghost Monsters were almost Immune to Physical Attacks, making it difficult for ordinary Physical Attack Professions to cause much damage to them.

Lu Fan guessed that this change might be because they had reached the middle to late part of the Secret Realm, so the difficulty had increased.

However, this increase in difficulty was not obvious to Lu Fan.

As Xiao Ye transformed into her Destruction Dragon Form, these Flying Dragon Souls still could not escape the fate of being one-shotted.

After another half day like this, Lu Fan and Jian Ying finally reached the end of the vine path, and arrived at the top of the Flying Dragon Divine Tree!

Along the way, Lu Fan and Jian Ying had encountered two more Main Stage Bosses. Because of Xiao Ye and Xiao Cui, the two Main Stage Bosses did not cause much trouble for Lu Fan and were cleared quickly. This had allowed Lu Fan and Jian Ying’s Levels to reach 28 and 27 respectively.

As for Xiao Ye and Xiao Cui, under the influence of Accelerated Growth Aura, their Levels also quickly increased, reaching 22 and 18 respectively.

A Level 55 Nightmare difficulty Secret Realm, let alone requiring only two people to enter, even a full team of ten Third Profession Change Players would probably take a week to clear to this point.

The speed at which Lu Fan cleared the Secret Realm was extraordinary.

After arriving at the top of the Flying Dragon Divine Tree, Lu Fan surveyed the surroundings, firstly to see where the Final Boss was, and secondly to compare if the coordinates located on his Peak Grade Treasure Map were nearby.
