Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 104, Is This… Is This What a Dragon Is?

Translator: Silavin

“Alright then, those Monsters down there are all yours!” Lu Fan smiled, feeling quite excited.

Because now, it was actually the first time Lu Fan had let Xiao Cui and Xiao Ye work together. He did not know what kind of power these two Dragons could unleash when cooperating.

“Go!” Lu Fan patted Xiao Ye’s head.

Xiao Ye let out another “Ang”. She flapped her wings, and soared into the sky.

Everyone’s gaze was fixed on Xiao Ye. Especially Tao Xiaoman and Jian Ying, who had never seen Xiao Ye in action before. At most, they had only seen Xiao Ye in her Infant Form, clinging to Lu Fan’s side, looking like she was seeking affection. They had never personally witnessed how powerful this Black Dragon really was.

Now, Lu Fan was about to satisfy their curiosity.

“Switch to Destruction Dragon Form!” At Lu Fan’s command, Xiao Ye’s body, in mid-air, suddenly burst into roaring flames, with waves of heat billowing outwards.

Xiao Ye transformed into what looked like a fireball, and this fireball rapidly expanded in the air, growing larger and larger.

Xiao Ye’s commotion had already alarmed the tens of thousands of small spiders below in the depression. Even the Shrieking Broodmother was alerted, her eight eyes fixed on the sudden intruder in the sky.

Instantly, the entire depression became like a boiling pot, with countless small spiders surging towards Lu Fan’s direction in waves. This scene made everyone’s scalp tingle.

Jian Ying even took out her Blood Breaking Sword, fearing she would have to engage in close combat with these spiders.

However, in the next second, Jian Ying realised that she probably did not need to be so tense. After all, the huge fireball in the sky made a loud *whoosh*, and the flames parted, revealing an incredibly majestic and powerful Black Dragon, beating its flame-engulfed wings!

[Is this what a Dragon is!?] Even Jian Ying, a cold and aloof beauty, completely lost her composure at this moment. Her body had completely stiffened.

Tao Xiaoman was trembling all over, watching the Giant Dragon flying with outstretched wings in the sky, feeling as if she was in a dream. This was exactly like the legendary Giant Dragons in books. However, Xiao Ye was even more powerful and beautiful than the descriptions in these legends.

The flames rising from her body directly dyed half the sky red!

This creature was undoubtedly the pinnacle of existence in this world, with no other creature having the ability to contend with it!

Everyone could sense the pressure emanating from this Black Dragon. Even without direct contact, they could perceive that this supreme being’s terrifyingly high All Four Attributes.

Now, Xiao Ye’s most prominent Mana Attribute has already reached 5200 points.

But this was only the beginning.

Lu Fan was determined. Since he was letting Xiao Ye take action this time, he would have Xiao Cui provide full support from the side, allowing these two Dragons to exert their strongest power.

Lu Fan directly applied the Dragon Encouragement Buff to Xiao Cui and Xiao Ye. Xiao Ye’s Mana Attribute soared to 7800 points, and Xiao Cui’s Skill Effects were also enhanced.

“Xiao Cui, give your Sister Jade Light, Jade Shield, and Spring of Life!” At Lu Fan’s command, Xiao Cui did not remain idle, applying all three Skills to Xiao Ye.

Instantly, Xiao Ye’s Attributes surged again by 60%, with her Mana Attribute reaching an unprecedented 12,500 points!

Because all of Xiao Cui’s Skills had doubled effects on the Dragon Race, the Recovery Speed from Spring of Life was also doubled, and the number of Jade Shields increased to six.

With these three Buffs added, not only did Xiao Ye’s Attributes skyrocket, but her entire Dragon Aura was elevated. The flames on her body surged outwards, making sounds like muffled thunder.

This was also the first time Xiao Ye had been supported by Xiao Cui, and this feeling of being filled with power from head to toe made her quite excited. She raised her head and roared. The tremendous Dragon Roar caused everyone below to instinctively cover their ears.

Xiao Ye lowered her head to look at the small spiders rushing towards her and Lu Fan’s group, her eyes full of contempt.

Although she looked down on these Lower Life Forms, Xiao Ye still dove down.

Great Cataclysm was thus unleashed!

As Xiao Ye dove to a low altitude, the ground where she passed suddenly erupted with flames. One fire wall after another frantically erupted, merging into one gigantic wall, turning the depression below into a vast sea of fire!

This was the second time Lu Fan had seen Xiao Ye use Great Cataclysm. He was surprised to find that compared to what happened in the major exam, the temperature of the flames and the width of the walls of fire when Xiao Ye released Great Cataclysm had all been greatly improved.

Originally, the maximum range of Great Cataclysm would only be about one-third of the radius of this depression.

However, now, half of the depression was engulfed by the flames of Great Cataclysm.

At the same time, after the flames rose, the high temperature instantly melted the ground, turning it into lava.

The temperature of the flames was clearly elevated by an order of magnitude compared to last time.

Xiao Ye’s Skill had not been upgraded, and her own Level had not increased. The only reasonable explanation was that with Xiao Cui’s stacked Buffs, Xiao Ye’s Mana Attribute and Combat Power had been greatly increased. It had directly led to a significant boost to the power of Xiao Ye’s Skill!

Compared to the major exam, this Great Cataclysm had nearly doubled in both coverage and damage!

With the recovery effect of Spring of Life, Xiao Ye’s Stamina was constantly being replenished, allowing her to extend the duration of Great Cataclysm.

Xiao Ye went back and forth above the depression, and with just one round trip, the fire of Great Cataclysm had burned every corner of the depression below.

The spiders below naturally did not just wait for death. Before Xiao Ye descended upon their heads with Great Cataclysm, they tried to counterattack using their poison and spider webs.

Unfortunately, their attacks could not even break through the Jade Shield, let alone reach Xiao Ye, who was already enveloped in flames when releasing Great Cataclysm. Just these alone neutralised all attacks.

Just like this, in less than half a minute, the depression that was originally crawling with various spiders, so numerous that it made one’s scalps tingle, was completely engulfed by roaring flames.

The spiders below did not even have time to escape from the depression before they were directly roasted into charcoal, without having any chance to flee.

This was like reaping wheat. Among the small spiders below, many were Normal Bosses and Difficult Bosses, so the Experience Points provided were very generous.

Tens of thousands of Monsters were instantly harvested, providing several times more Experience Points than what the group had gained from clearing the map before!

As Great Cataclysm rained down, Xiao Cui was the first to glow with golden light, reaching Level 5!

Soon, Han Ke, Tao Xiaoman, Qin Qiu, and Jian Ying’s Ocean Freezing Sword all Levelled up.

Lu Fan could not help but sigh. [The amount of Experience Points provided by this Dungeon Instance is indeed generous. If it was any other Dungeon Instance, it might take three or four runs to get such an abundant amount of Experience Points.]

The great fire below lasted only ten seconds, and almost all the small spiders were completely dead, with even the huge spider web thoroughly melted.

However, everyone could see that in the centre of the depression, there was still a huge figure moving.

It was the Final Boss of the Dungeon Instance, the Shrieking Broodmother.

At this time, her body was already in tatters, with many parts burned to charcoal. But as the Final Boss, she was tenacious. To maintain her life, she was constantly devouring the carcasses of the small spiders around her.

She had a Skill called Bite Absorption, which allowed her to recover Health Points by eating the flesh of small spiders. It was thanks to this Skill that she could survive in the Great Cataclysm for so long.

However, this was futile. Doing this only prolonged her death and suffering. The damage caused by Great Cataclysm could not be offset by Bite Absorption. Moreover, the carcassess of those small spiders around it were rapidly turning into charcoal under the scorching flames. There would soon be nothing left to use Bite Absorption on.

Xiao Ye had now returned to her Infant Form and flown back to Lu Fan’s side. However, she did not retract the fire of Great Cataclysm. She just let the flames continue to burn in the depression, to be extinguished on their own.

As Lu Fan had predicted, soon enough, the Shrieking Broodmother could not find any small spider carcasses to use Bite Absorption on. She could only wail as she was completely engulfed by the flames, finally turning into charcoal and being devoured by the lava beneath her, disappearing from sight.

The great fire burned for a full five minutes before gradually subsiding.

During these five minutes, no one said a word. Everyone stood like statues, looking at the depression before them.

The depression now was no different from a volcano crater. As far as the eye could see, there was only flowing lava exuding heat waves. Even the unmelted black rocks were few, standing like lonely islands in the lava.

From time to time, flames would erupt from the lava, as if warning others not to approach. If one fell into the lava, they would surely be incinerated without a trace.

Even though the lasting effect of Great Cataclysm had ended, this Skill had still caused devastating damage to this place.

Everyone looked at the depression before them, beyond shock.

The scene of Xiao Ye releasing Great Cataclysm was still vivid in their mind. Even Qin Qiu and Han Ke, who had seen Xiao Ye in battle before, had never witnessed such a terrifying form before.

[Is this really a Skill? This is more like a natural disaster… If Great Cataclysm falls on the wrong target, it could easily annihilate an entire city!]

After a long while, Jian Ying finally came to her senses.

Her pale face was flushed red from the reflection of the lava’s flames. With an expression of utter disbelief, she struggled to utter a few words. “Is this… is this really what a Dragon is?”

Tao Xiaoman blinked a couple of times and took several deep breaths before the dizziness had somewhat subsided.

She shook her head vigorously and said, covering her forehead, “In the past five minutes, I’ve doubted more than once whether I was dreaming. Xiao Ye usually looks like a harmless Large Lizard, but when she exerts her full power, she’s actually so terrifying…”

After a pause, Tao Xiaoman asked in an almost pleading tone, “Lu Fan, can you tell me roughly how high Xiao Ye’s Mana Attribute is? I really want to know, for a single Skill to cause such an apocalyptic scene, how incredibly powerful is Xiao Ye as a Dragon?”
