Build a Fifty-meter Giant Mecha at the Beginning!

45: Veteran Wang figured out Matthew’s intentions and successfully took over the shell companyEveryone present nodded in agreement; as long as the benefits were explained to the European Countries, they would definitely grant the airworthiness certificate to China.

“Oh, has Boeing Company had no reaction?”

Matthew suddenly thought of his old rival, Boeing Company. Faced with the sudden rise of China’s domestically produced large passenger aircraft, why had Boeing Company not reacted at all?

“Pfft!”

At this moment, an executive from Shell Corporation, who knew about Boeing Company’s situation, couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

Everyone looked at him in confusion.

“Boeing Company believes that China absolutely, absolutely cannot build an advanced engine, so they haven’t paid attention to China’s domestically produced large passenger aircraft.”

“Just a few days ago, Japan planned to restart its large passenger aircraft manufacturing project, and Boeing Company focused all its attention on them.”

Hearing the words of this executive, Everyone present was stunned.

What is Boeing Company doing? Instead of paying attention to China, which successfully developed a large passenger aircraft, they are focusing on Japan, which failed in a few years?

“Hahahaha!”

“It seems even God is helping us. We must seize this opportunity to trample Boeing Company underfoot!”

Matthew burst into laughter.

Faced with Boeing Company’s bizarre actions, Matthew really didn’t know how to comment on them. If he had to comment, Matthew just wanted to say that Boeing Company is truly strong!!!

“Everyone, we’ve arrived!”

At this moment, someone noticed that the bus had slowly decelerated and stopped.

Guan Shan walked up, “Mr. Matthew and Everyone, we have arrived. Please follow me. Also, please cooperate with us later.”

Guan Shan motioned for Everyone to get off the bus. Outside, a group of soldiers was waiting to inspect Matthew and the others, to prevent them from carrying any weapons or listening devices.

“Mm-hmm.”

Matthew and the others had no objection to the inspection. After all, they were meeting with high-ranking Chinese Government officials, so it was reasonable for the other side to be cautious.

After the inspection, Guan Shan led Matthew and the others to the meeting room. At this time, Elder Wang and Leader Jia stood up, smiling, as they looked at Matthew and the others.

“Mr. Matthew, welcome to our China.”

Elder Wang said with a smile.

“Hello, Elder Wang. It’s an honor to meet you here.”

“This time, I must congratulate you for being able to build the domestically produced large passenger aircraft so quickly.”

“China truly lives up to its reputation as a great nation with five thousand years of history; its foundation is truly strong!”

Matthew was not flattering them. According to the information Matthew had, seventy percent of the materials for China’s domestically produced large passenger aircraft were all produced by China itself.

The remaining thirty percent was only imported because foreign materials were cheaper, but China had domestic alternatives for that thirty percent.

This was simply incredible in a world where The Entire Blue Star was gradually becoming a global village.

It’s important to know that both Shell Corporation and Boeing Company had to source materials from The Entire Blue Star to build their aircraft.

At this moment, Matthew noticed many documents placed behind Leader Jia, with ’Yuanhang-2 Experimental Data’ written on the top file folder.

Although Matthew was not proficient in Chinese, he had watched countless videos of China’s domestically produced large passenger aircraft on the way, so he recognized the four characters for Yuanhang-2.

Seeing Matthew’s excited gaze fixed on the experimental data, Elder Wang and Leader Jia’s mouths curved into slight smiles. They had deliberately arranged for these items to be placed in such a conspicuous spot.

Their purpose was to make it easy for Matthew and the others to see them.

“It’s all thanks to the efforts of our researchers, and also largely due to Comrade Zhang Yuanhang, who developed the Yuanhang-2 Engine for our domestically produced large passenger aircraft.”

“This allowed our domestically produced large passenger aircraft to make its maiden flight so early.”

Elder Wang deliberately kept mentioning Zhang Yuanhang and Yuanhang-2, intending to prevent Matthew and the others from remaining calm, making it easier to secure greater benefits in the subsequent negotiations.

The Shell Corporation executives behind Matthew’s eyes were almost falling out as they stared at that pile of experimental data.

Hearing Elder Wang continuously mention Zhang Yuanhang and Yuanhang-2, Matthew felt an itch in his heart.

“Come, come, Everyone, please sit.”

“Come and taste our Chinese tea. You know, this tea is something I’ve treasured for many years. Normally, I wouldn’t even bear to take it out to drink.”

“You know, a jin costs twenty to thirty thousand!”

Elder Wang motioned for Everyone to drink tea.

Leader Jia looked at Elder Wang in surprise. This tea was just casually taken from outside, and ten jin of it only cost twenty yuan.

How could Elder Wang shamelessly claim that this tea cost twenty to thirty thousand?

Even a city wall corner wasn’t as thick-skinned as Elder Wang!

“Alright, alright, thank you, Elder Wang, for your hospitality.”

Matthew and the others held their tea, but their eyes never left the experimental data behind Elder Wang and Leader Jia.

“Hiss!”

For a moment, many people flinched, scalded by the hot tea.

“Pfft!”

Seeing this scene, Leader Jia almost broke character, suppressing his laughter and looking up at the ceiling, afraid that Matthew and the others would see his smile.

Elder Wang looked at Leader Jia with a disappointed expression, thinking, ’You can’t even hold back your laughter for such a small thing.’

“Elder Wang, let’s get straight to the point!”

Matthew noticed the smile on Leader Jia’s mouth and realized that if he didn’t speak first, he probably wouldn’t get anything today.

“We are here for your Yuanhang-2 Engine, which China has just manufactured.”

“Our Shell Corporation is willing to pay fifteen million US dollars for each engine.”

“Elder Wang, you should know that even the most advanced engines from Eagle Country currently only sell for ten million US dollars. We are sincerely interested in purchasing your Yuanhang-2 Engine.”

Matthew did not mention the conditions he had prepared yet, only hoping that China would agree to this price. If they didn’t, he would then propose the subsequent conditions.

“Mr. Matthew, I see your company’s sincerity.”

“However, the Yuanhang-2 Engine is the strongest engine on The Entire Blue Star, and our Chinese Government does not wish to sell it abroad.”

Elder Wang saw that Shell Corporation had further conditions, so he naturally wouldn’t agree immediately.

“Hmm.” Matthew feigned a very difficult expression and said, “Elder Wang, how about this: we’ll also offer our Shell Corporation’s flight control system and avionics system as an exchange.”

“In exchange for the qualification to purchase the Yuanhang-2 Engine.”

Looking at Matthew’s struggling expression, Elder Wang sneered, ’His acting is too poor.’ At the same time, Elder Wang was curious about Shell Corporation’s bottom line.

“Mr. Matthew, your sincerity is great, but our first production line for Yuanhang-2 is still under construction.”

“Our production capacity cannot be increased for now!”

“Even if the production line is built, the output will only be enough for our domestic use! We won’t have enough to supply your company!”

Elder Wang looked at Matthew with an apologetic expression.

Matthew didn’t believe a word of Elder Wang’s rhetoric. What ’insufficient capacity’? It was just ’insufficient profit’.

“Elder Wang, let’s discuss this.”

Matthew looked at Elder Wang apologetically, and Elder Wang motioned for Matthew to proceed.

So Matthew led Everyone to another meeting room.

Leader Jia looked at the retreating figures of Matthew and the others with a hint of worry, “Chief, they won’t just give up, will they?”

“Don’t worry, they won’t.”

“We haven’t reached their bottom line yet. They are just putting on a show for us right now!”

Elder Wang motioned for Leader Jia to relax.

After a while, Matthew and the others, pretending to have had a discussion, returned.

“Elder Wang, if we can help you obtain the airworthiness certificates from the European Countries, can you provide us with the Yuanhang-2 Engine?”

Matthew looked at Elder Wang with concern. If Elder Wang refused again this time, they would have to leave with regret.

Elder Wang saw the look in Matthew’s eyes and understood that this was Shell Corporation’s limit. He was quite surprised that Shell Corporation would so easily handle the airworthiness certificate for China.

“Hmm…” Elder Wang feigned a difficult expression, pacing back and forth in the meeting room, and finally said, “Then let’s proceed according to the three points you’ve proposed.”

“Thank you, Elder Wang.”

Seeing Elder Wang agree, Matthew’s heart, which had been pounding in his throat, finally settled down.
