Build a Fifty-meter Giant Mecha at the Beginning!

24: Zhang Yuanhang returns to the mountain city“Hahaha!!!”

At this moment, Lin Yun, far away in Shancheng, was laughing heartily; Zhang Yuanhang, this precious treasure, was coming back.

Originally, Lin Yun thought Academician Li Bing would keep Zhang Yuanhang in Rong City, and he had even prepared to transport the mecha to Rong City, but not long ago, Zhang Yuanhang contacted him, saying he was coming back.

Just then, the door to Lin Yun’s office was kicked open.

Lin Yun, who was laughing, stared blankly as his door flew out the window. “What the heck, have aliens invaded?”

Just then, a voice came from outside.

“Lin Yun, lad, we heard Comrade Xiao Zhang is coming back, right?”

Academician Wu and Academician Zhao ran in, speaking in unison.

“Academicians, what’s with your hairstyles?”

Lin Yun looked at Academician Wu and Academician Zhao’s disheveled hair and tattered clothes. If you said they were beggars, no one would doubt it!

Academician Wu and Academician Zhao looked at each other, and upon seeing each other’s hairstyles, both took a step back in fright.

For the past month, they had been busy day and night researching the mecha Zhang Yuanhang had built, without much rest.

Let alone taking care of their appearance.

“Never mind that for now, is Comrade Xiao Zhang really coming back?”

Academician Wu and Academician Zhao were in no mood to care about such things right now. They had made no progress this month, and now hearing that Zhang Yuanhang was returning, they were incredibly excited.

“That’s right, Academicians.”

“I’ve already arranged for a helicopter to pick up Comrade Xiao Zhang from Rong City.”

Lin Yun said with a smile.

“When Comrade Xiao Zhang returns, he’ll also be able to free Old Man Sun from his suffering.”

Academician Wu and Academician Zhao said with a smile.

The “Old Man Sun” they referred to was Academician Sun, an Academician whom Old Wang had transferred to work on laser research.

Ever since Academician Sun and his research team arrived in Shancheng half a month ago, he had been awestruck by the Laser Cannon on the mecha.

At that time, Academician Sun said he had wasted so many years researching laser technology.

He immediately put down his luggage and plunged into research.

“However, Academician Wu, Academician Zhao, when Comrade Xiao Zhang arrives, he won’t come to the military base immediately.”

Lin Yun poured a bucket of cold water on them.

“Ah?”

“Is Comrade Xiao Zhang sick from exhaustion? Damn it, we shouldn’t have let that kid Li Bing take Comrade Xiao Zhang away in the first place.”

Academician Wu and Academician Zhao mistakenly thought Zhang Yuanhang was exhausted and needed to recuperate in a hospital. They immediately got so angry that they rolled up their sleeves, ready to rush to Rong City and beat up Academician Li Bing.

“No, no, Academicians, calm down!”

Lin Yun hurriedly held back the two Academicians.

“The thing is, Comrade Xiao Zhang needs to attend his university’s graduation design assessment.”

Lin Yun explained.

“What?!”

“With Comrade Xiao Zhang’s level, why would he still need to attend any assessment? What qualifications do those examiners have to assess Comrade Xiao Zhang?”

Academician Wu said, eyes wide.

In Academician Wu’s opinion, he himself wasn’t qualified to assess Zhang Yuanhang, so how could anyone from Shancheng University of Science and Technology be qualified to assess Zhang Yuanhang?

“Exactly, isn’t this an international joke!”

Academician Zhao also said with a dark expression.

“Academicians, after all, this is part of the university graduation process.”

“However, Comrade Xiao Zhang doesn’t need to actually attend the assessment. I will personally take him to get his diploma then.”

Lin Yun said.

In Lin Yun’s view, Zhang Yuanhang’s time was extremely precious; how could he possibly let Zhang Yuanhang waste time on such childish games?

At that time, he would go directly to the school to handle all of Zhang Yuanhang’s graduation certificates and other documents.

So that Zhang Yuanhang could devote himself wholeheartedly to research.

“Lin Yun, you’ve finally done something reliable.”

Academician Wu and Academician Zhao both nodded; now that’s more like it.

Lin Yun’s face darkened. What did they mean by “finally”?

“We’re leaving. When Comrade Xiao Zhang comes back, Lin Yun, you must inform us immediately!”

Academician Wu and Academician Zhao had many questions about the technologies used in the mecha that they wanted to ask Zhang Yuanhang.

“Okay, okay, Academicians, don’t worry, I’ll be the first to inform you.”

Lin Yun respectfully escorted Academician Wu and Academician Zhao out of his office. Seeing them leave, Lin Yun reached out to close his office door.

He fumbled around for a long time, only to find nothing.

“Damn it, my door!”

“These two Academicians are truly formidable!”

It was then that Lin Yun remembered that his office door had already been kicked out by Academician Wu and Academician Zhao.

“Huh, why is there a door here?”

“Who is so thoughtless, throwing things around indiscriminately?”

Academician Wu and Academician Zhao, who had walked out of the building, saw a door lying in the hallway. They looked around, trying to find the person who had thrown it.

“How about we two move this door?”

Academician Wu quietly suggested to Academician Zhao.

“Are you kidding? We’re almost 140 years old combined; moving this would be risking our lives.”

“Let those young people move it later. Let’s go back and continue our research.”

Academician Zhao had completely forgotten how he had justdomineeringly kicked Lin Yun’s door flying.

“You’re right, let’s go!”

Academician Wu nodded in agreement. It wasn’t that they were unwilling to do good deeds; it was simply that they were ‘powerless’!!!

The Door: You two culprits are right!

At this moment.

Zhang Yuanhang, with his luggage, boarded the helicopter returning to Shancheng, under the reluctant gazes of Academician Li Bing, Academician Qian, and others.

“Everyone, we’ll meet again if fate allows!”

Zhang Yuanhang waved to Everyone, then turned and entered the helicopter.

“Comrade Xiao Zhang, you must remember that the doors of our research base are always open for you!”

“Our promises to you are also always valid!”

Academician Li Bing and Academician Qian waved reluctantly, watching the helicopter slowly take off under the escort of several fighter jets.

Only after the helicopter disappeared into the sky did Everyone prepare to return.

“Huh, Zhao Sheng, why are you still here?”

Academician Li Bing saw Zhao Sheng still there, looking at him with a puzzled expression, thinking to himself: Is this kid really free all day?

Seeing Zhao Sheng’s evasive eyes, Academician Li Bing’s intuition told him that Zhao Sheng was definitely up to something.

“Academician Li, well, the food in your research base cafeteria is too delicious.”

“I plan to have dinner before I leave.”

Zhao Sheng thought that by the time he had dinner, his chief and others should have arrived.

Seeing Zhao Sheng intending to stay, Academician Li Bing and Academician Qian exchanged glances.

Before, when Zhang Yuanhang was still here, Zhao Sheng was trying to poach Zhang Yuanhang, which was why he stayed. Now that Zhang Yuanhang was gone, and Zhao Sheng still wasn’t leaving, his target must be the Yuanhang-2 Engine!!!

“Zhao Sheng, our cafeteria isn’t serving dinner tonight, so you won’t be able to eat.”

“You should go back.”

Academician Qian said with a smile.

“How is that possible? I just saw a sign in the cafeteria saying there’s spareribs tonight.”

“You know, I love spareribs the most.”

Zhao Sheng said with a thick-skinned smile, determined to stay here tonight, even if it meant losing face.
