Build a Fifty-meter Giant Mecha at the Beginning!

17: The shock of the capital’s leaders“Alright, let’s not worry about that for now. I’m taking these videos to the Capital,” Leader Jia said, his eyes gleaming as he looked at the collected memory cards.

After confirming that no one present had secretly kept any memory cards, Leader Jia immediately arranged a flight to the Capital. To get to the Capital quickly, Leader Jia had them arrange a supersonic fighter jet for him.

It would only take an hour to get there from Mountain City.

At the same time, he immediately called a leader he knew in the Capital and explained the situation.

Academician Wu and Academician Zhao shrugged as Leader Jia departed. They had originally planned to send a video to their friends in the laser field for them to see.

Now, they could only wait for instructions from above.

Lin Yun piloted the mech back to the hangar. After dismounting from the cockpit, Lin Yun affectionately stroked the mech.

“I didn’t expect that the mech Xiao Zhang invented would have such powerful offensive capabilities,” Lin Yun said, and Academician Wu and Academician Zhao beside him nodded in agreement. In Everyone’s eyes, Zhang Yuanhang was no longer just a genius.

He was a divine being!

While Lin Yun, Academician Wu, and Academician Zhao were marveling, leaders in the Capital gathered in the conference room.

“Everyone, Xiao Jia from Mountain City just sent news.”

“Comrade Zhang Yuanhang’s developed mech is equipped with two extremely powerful Laser Cannons.”

“According to Xiao Jia, the Laser Cannon’s power is enough to instantly melt a tank into molten iron.”

At this, a leader slowly stood up. This leader was Old Wang, the Capital leader Leader Jia had just contacted.

“Instantly?”

“Old Wang, isn’t that a bit exaggerated?”

“Exactly! If you said it instantly incapacitates a tank, I might believe it, but melting it into molten iron? Isn’t that a bit unreliable?”

...The leaders present all looked at Old Wang with skepticism.

Tanks are made of special steel. It would take at least two or three hours to melt such special steel!

How could it possibly melt into molten iron in an instant?

“Xiao Jia has already brought the video footage from that time. We’ll know if it’s true once we see it,” Old Wang said slowly. To be honest, he didn’t really believe Leader Jia’s words either.

However, Leader Jia had just guaranteed it with his life, which made Old Wang waver. Perhaps it wasn’t impossible for it to be true.

After all, for a formidable person who could single-handedly create a flying mech, creating a Laser Cannon wasn’t out of the realm of possibility.

“That’s true. Everyone, let’s wait a bit. After all, Comrade Zhang Yuanhang is a genius who created a mech.”

“Yes, yes. Perhaps this time he’ll give us another surprise!”

“If this is true, we need to quickly equip the Laser Cannons to strike a blow at the arrogant might of the Eagle Nation.”

...What annoyed the leaders present the most were the Eagle Nation’s lackeys, who boasted day and night about the Eagle Nation’s Laser Cannon, claiming that China wouldn’t be able to build one within fifty years.

This was very detrimental to the Chinese people’s national confidence.

However, before this, all national research bases had not yet produced a combat-ready Laser Cannon.

The leaders chatted in the conference room for a while, and an hour passed in the blink of an eye.

Just then, Leader Jia rushed in, carrying a sealed briefcase.

“Leaders, I apologize for being late.”

Leader Jia saw that these leaders from the Capital had been waiting for a long time and immediately apologized.

“It’s alright, it’s alright.”

“Xiao Jia, please show us the video you brought.”

Old Wang didn’t care about any of that now. He and the leaders present only wanted to know if what Leader Jia had said earlier was true.

“Yes, yes.”

Leader Jia nodded and hurriedly inserted the memory card in his hand into the projector in the conference room.

Everyone’s gaze converged on the projection.

The footage of Lin Yun piloting the mech began to play. As the Laser Cannon fired, Everyone, including Old Wang, stood up, their eyes fixed on the projection.

Although the mech hit a Main Battle Tank that China was about to retire, the mech penetrated the Main Battle Tank from the front in the blink of an eye.

This capability was truly chilling.

“Holy shit!”

Just as Old Wang was about to turn and ask Leader Jia, he saw the mech’s two Laser Cannons fire at full power.

The Main Battle Tank, which had just suffered a terrible fate, was directly reduced to molten iron within three seconds.

“This... this video, is it really not fake?”

Old Wang turned to look at Leader Jia in disbelief, asking in a low voice. The other leaders all swallowed their saliva while looking at Leader Jia.

“Yes, Leaders, I was on site at the time. That tank was burned into molten iron right before my eyes.”

Leader Jia nodded.

“Gulp!”

Everyone collectively swallowed their saliva.

“Old Wang, I remember we got an M1 Main Battle Tank from the Eagle Nation.”

“Transport that tank to Mountain City and see how long it takes for the mech to destroy it!”

At this, China’s Top Leader, who had been silent, spoke. He slowly stood up and looked at the Laser Cannon on the mech.

“Xiao Jia, did Comrade Zhang Yuanhang tell you the power output of this Laser Cannon?”

“Also, can this Laser Cannon be equipped on other modules?”

China’s Top Leader felt that mounting the Laser Cannon on the mech was a bit of a waste. The mech’s size was too large, making it too easy to expose, and therefore not suitable for battlefield deployment.

Thus, the Laser Cannon’s combat effectiveness would be greatly reduced because of the mech.

Judging from the projection, the Laser Cannon’s volume was not large, similar to the size of a tank’s main gun. If the Laser Cannon were mounted on the main gun, it should be very suitable.

“The Laser Cannon’s power is ten thousand kilowatts.”

“As for whether it can be mounted on other modules, I don’t know either. Comrade Zhang Yuanhang is currently helping with the Domestic Large Aircraft Project.”

“Academician Wu and Academician Zhao said they also don’t know if it can be modified. We’d have to ask Comrade Zhang Yuanhang.”

Leader Jia hurriedly said.

“Call Li Bing and the others, quickly tell him to have Comrade Zhang Yuanhang return to Mountain City.”

“In this situation, who cares about the Domestic Large Aircraft Project!”

At this, Old Wang hurriedly said. If the Laser Cannon could be assembled with a tank, China’s armored forces would be invincible on Blue Star!

“No, don’t disturb Comrade Zhang Yuanhang yet.”

“The Domestic Large Aircraft Project is also very important to our country. As long as the Domestic Large Aircraft Project succeeds, other countries will have to think twice before trying to put a chokehold on us in the future.”

China’s Top Leader stopped Old Wang. Too many people were currently paying attention to the Domestic Large Aircraft Project. There was no room for error, as it already concerned China’s prestige.

Moreover, if it succeeded, it would greatly enhance the national confidence of the people.

With this precedent, if other countries wanted to impose technological blockades on China in the future, they would have to seriously reconsider.

If you impose a blockade, hoping to make China surrender, but instead force China to conduct its own research, and it ultimately succeeds, then it will be embarrassing!

Everyone present suddenly realized, “Indeed, we cannot interfere with the Domestic Large Aircraft Project now.”

Old Wang looked disappointed, but thinking of the Domestic Large Aircraft Project’s importance to China, he quickly recovered.

“Alright, first have someone transport the Eagle Nation’s M1 Main Battle Tank to Mountain City to see the test results.”

“If the results are good, we will then post the live video to the external network to give the Eagle Nation something to worry about.”

China’s Top Leader slowly said.
