Build a Fifty-meter Giant Mecha at the Beginning!

6: Why did I make a humanoid mecha? Because I like it!!!“Damn, this is outrageous!”

Lin Yun’s eyes nearly popped out. According to Academician Li Bing, wouldn’t our Huaxia, with Zhang Yuanhang’s sole effort, directly become the ceiling in aviation engines?

“Gulp!”

Lin Yun swallowed. He had previously thought that Zhang Yuanhang would still need some time to lead Huaxia’s scientific research to the top.

Now it seems that perhaps no time is needed; it has already begun to take off.

“Little guy, could you explain the principle of your Yuanhang-1 Engine to me?”

After Academician Li Bing calmed down, he approached Zhang Yuanhang with a smile.

“Of course, no problem, Academician Li, it’s like this, ...”

Zhang Yuanhang said.

Lin Yun stared blankly at Zhang Yuanhang and Academician Li Bing. He recognized every word they said, but once connected, it felt like listening to an incomprehensible heavenly script!

Lin Yun turned to look at the professors who had just arrived with Academician Li Bing, and suddenly realized why they looked half-understanding, half-confused?

Now these professors finally understood how their students felt during their lectures.

They could hear and understand, but they couldn’t think too deeply, or their brains would turn to mush.

Just as Zhang Yuanhang was explaining to Academician Li Bing, a helicopter arrived, carrying two Academicians and a group of professors.

“Old Zhao, look, the mech is here, wow, it’s so big!”

“Old Wu, I’m not blind.”

The two Academicians who arrived were Academician Zhao, who specializes in large machinery research, and Academician Wu, a materials scientist.

Their purpose this time was the same as Academician Li Bing’s: to see this mech, confirm its authenticity, and conduct an evaluation.

Before the helicopter had even fully landed, the two Academicians opened the doors and ran out.

Academician Wu strode quickly to the mech and gently stroked it with both hands.

“This is completely a work of art!”

“Such a large fellow can actually fly like an airplane; the materials used must be extraordinary!”

Academician Wu stared intently at the mech as if he had seen his dream lover. Unlike Academician Wu, Academician Zhao looked at the mech with a puzzled expression.

Why build a humanoid mech???

Anyone in this field knows that humanoid mechs, apart from satisfying human aesthetics—that is, looking a bit better—are entirely full of disadvantages.

Academician Zhao was very angry. He felt that the team who built this mech was crazy, and spending so much money and resources to build this humanoid mech was a waste!

“You’re Lin Yun, right? Where is the team that built this mech?”

Academician Zhao, with his doubts, found Lin Yun, the person in charge here.

“Academician Zhao, he’s over here, still explaining things to Academician Li.”

Lin Yun found Academician Zhao in front of him very strange; why did he seem so angry?

“This kid is busy, find someone else. I want to ask them why they built a humanoid mech!”

Academician Zhao was a bit surprised. Why were Academician Li and the professors behind him listening to this kid as if he were a student giving a lecture?

What could a little kid possibly know???

“Academician Zhao, there’s no team. This mech, from top to bottom, was built entirely by this young Zhang alone,”

Lin Yun looked at Academician Zhao’s arrogant demeanor, especially the disdain in his eyes when he looked at Zhang Yuanhang, and felt very displeased.

“What did you say?”

Academician Zhao slowly spoke after a few seconds ofstunned.

He looked at the mech, then at Zhang Yuanhang. Academician Zhao felt as if he had gotten dizzy from the plane ride.

Before coming, he thought the team that designed and built this mech had at least a thousand or even more people. Now he was being told that this mech was built from beginning to end by one person.

Seeing Academician Zhao’s shocked expression, Lin Yun felt a sense of satisfaction.

Weren’t you very proud just now, looking down on this and that? Why are you showing such a shocked expression now!

“A prodigy!”

“Young Zhang, it is truly a great fortune for our Huaxia to have you!”

Academician Li Bing looked at Zhang Yuanhang with a smile in his eyes, feeling immensely happy for his country.

Academician Li Bing believed that the future Zhang Yuanhang would definitely become a great scientist who would dominate an era.

“No, no.”

“It is my great fortune to be able to grow up in Huaxia.”

Zhang Yuanhang quickly waved his hand.

Academician Li Bing nodded, then looked at Zhang Yuanhang with a somewhat embarrassed expression.

“Young Zhang, I have an impolite request that I’d like to trouble you with.”

Academician Li Bing spoke slowly, a touch of red appearing on his face.

“Academician Li, please speak. As long as I can do it, I will definitely help.”

Zhang Yuanhang held great respect for these Academicians who had dedicated their lives to their country. As long as he could do it, he would definitely lend a hand.

“I, this old man, am the chief designer of the domestically produced large passenger aircraft. Now, the development of our domestically produced large passenger aircraft is nearing its end.”

“The only thing is that our aero-engine still uses foreign ones. Originally, we had no choice.”

“But today, I saw the engine you developed, and I think your engine is more suitable; it just needs to have its thrust reduced a bit.”

Academician Li Bing explained to Zhang Yuanhang why the thrust needed to be reduced, and Zhang Yuanhang nodded.

“Academician Li, don’t worry, leave all this to me.”

Zhang Yuanhang patted his chest. In these four years, he had thoroughly mastered every technology on the mech.

Isn’t it just designing a weakened version of the engine based on the Yuanhang-1 Engine? Easy peasy.

“Academician Li, you will need to provide a venue then.”

“My factory building has already collapsed, and most of the equipment inside is probably unusable.”

Zhang Yuanhang pointed to the collapsed factory building.

“No problem, no problem. Our research base is in Rong City. We can just go there then.”

Academician Li Bing was overjoyed to hear this. He had just started thinking about recruiting Zhang Yuanhang to their research base and was wondering how to bring it up.

As a result, with Zhang Yuanhang’s words, Academician Li Bing’s heart bloomed with joy. As long as he went to their research base and saw the advanced equipment there, Academician Li could guarantee that Zhang Yuanhang would not leave.

Among the thousands of bases across the country, those with better equipment than theirs could be counted on one hand.

“Young Zhang, these are Academician Zhao and Academician Wu.”

Lin Yun saw that Zhang Yuanhang and Academician Li Bing had finished their conversation, so he brought the two Academicians over.

However, before Zhang Yuanhang could greet them, Academician Zhao blurted out.

“Kid, why did you design a humanoid mech? Don’t you know that humanoid mechs are the most useless?”

Academician Zhao’s opening words were accusatory, immediately causing everyone’s expressions to change.

Zhang Yuanhang looked at Academician Zhao with an unfriendly expression, thinking to himself: Is this guy crazy???

Academician Li Bing and Academician Wu looked at Academician Zhao with annoyance, thinking: Can’t Old Zhao change his fiery temper?!

“None of your business!”

“I like humanoid mechs, is that a problem?”

Zhang Yuanhang rolled his eyes at Academician Zhao.
