Build a Fifty-meter Giant Mecha at the Beginning!

28: The Air Force Commander and Li Xiangyang attempted to exchange engines with Li BingLi Xiangyang and the Air Force Commander slowly lowered the car window.

”What are you doing at the research base gate with a bowl of spare ribs, you rascal?”

”At this hour, you still have the mood to go out and buy spare ribs to eat?”

Li Xiangyang mistakenly thought Zhao Sheng had bought the spare ribs from outside, and looked at Zhao Sheng with displeasure.

He and the others, for the sake of that Yuanhang-2 Engine, wished they had wings to fly from the Capital.

”No, no.”

”I was kicked out by them.”

Zhao Sheng had a bitter smile on his face; just as the cafeteria chef finished making the spare ribs, Qin Ming gestured for him to leave. Zhao Sheng originally intended to stay, but Academician Li Bing personally took action, pulling him towards the outside.

Zhao Sheng looked at the seventy or eighty-year-old Academician Li Bing and could only helplessly follow him obediently, not daring to resist in the slightest, fearing he might accidentally bump Academician Li Bing.

Thus, Zhao Sheng appeared at the main entrance of the research base.

”Kicked out?”

”What did you do in there? How did you manage to get kicked out?”

Li Xiangyang looked at his subordinate Zhao Sheng with an unfriendly gaze; this fellow was a bit unreliable!

”I didn’t do anything!”

”Academician Li Bing discovered that our Air Force was eyeing the Yuanhang-2, so he kicked me out.”

Zhao Sheng said with a wronged expression.

”These Academicians are so cunning.”

Li Xiangyang’s eyelids twitched slightly.

”Alright, take us to Academician Li Bing.”

The Air Force Commander waved his hand, signaling Zhao Sheng to lead the way. In the Air Force Commander’s view, since he had personally come, Academician Li Bing would surely hand over the Yuanhang-2 Engine.

”Yes!”

Zhao Sheng turned and led the Air Force Commander and Li Xiangyang towards the main entrance. At this moment, the soldiers guarding the gate saw the Air Force Commander and other important figures arriving and immediately opened the research base’s gate.

”Hmph!”

Zhao Sheng snorted coldly at the soldier. Just now, wasn’t he very arrogant when he stopped him? Why was he so obedient now, opening the gate!

At the same time.

”Academician Li, the backup engine has been debugged and there are no issues.”

”Now both engines can be directly installed on our large passenger plane.”

A researcher jogged to Academician Li Bing’s side. The backup engine here was manufactured by Zhang Yuanhang at that time. Because Zhang Yuanhang was worried about unexpected events.

So he simply manufactured two Yuanhang-2 Engines in one go, one for testing and one for backup, to be activated immediately if the first one had problems.

”Good, good. Now, immediately install both engines.”

”We need to conduct the maiden flight as soon as possible!”

Academician Li Bing said with an expectant look.

He, Li Bing, had waited too long for this day; the people had waited too long for this day; the motherland had also waited too long. Now, finally, the large passenger plane, which had been developed for so many years, was about to take off.

”Yes!”

The researchers immediately turned to install the engines.

”Old Li, we have finally waited for this day.”

Academician Qian came to Academician Li Bing’s side, trembling all over. In his lifetime, he could finally see China’s own domestically produced large passenger plane.

”Yes, after enduring so much hardship and being questioned for so long.”

”Fortunately, Comrade Zhang personally came to help develop the engine; otherwise, even if our large passenger plane took off, it would still be criticized by the haters!”

Academician Li Bing said with a smile, and Academician Qian and the others all nodded in agreement.

At this moment, Qin Ming, holding a phone, ran to Academician Qian and Academician Li Bing with a look of horror.

”Qin Ming, what’s wrong with you?”

Academician Qian looked at his student Qin Ming’s frightened appearance. He didn’t understand why Qin Ming would show such an expression at this time of universal celebration.

”Teacher, Academician Li just called from the main gate.”

”He said Zhao Sheng is bringing the Air Force Commander towards us.”

Qin Ming said.

”What!”

”How can this Zhao Sheng be so persistent!”

Academician Qian and Academician Li Bing’s faces darkened. They had thought that after kicking Zhao Sheng out of the research base, he would leave. Unexpectedly, he actually brought out the Air Force Commander, a formidable figure.

Zhao Sheng: Kidding me, with the treasure mountain of the Yuanhang-2 Engine here, would I leave???

At this moment, Zhao Sheng walked over, bringing the Air Force Commander and Li Xiangyang.

The Air Force Commander extended his hand and walked towards Academician Qian and Academician Li Bing, ”Academician Qian, Academician Li, long time no see!!!”

Academician Qian and Academician Li Bing were extremely displeased to see the smiling Air Force Commander, but they still smiled and said, ”Commander, why do you have time to visit our humble temple?”

The two Academicians looked at Zhao Sheng out of the corner of their eyes, their gazes filled with waves of murderous intent. They wished they could skin this fellow Zhao Sheng alive.

”Hey, what humble temple!”

”Now your research base is a hot commodity; who doesn’t know that Comrade Zhang Yuanhang developed an engine for you that surpasses all other countries on the Blue Star!”

At this point, the Air Force Commander was practically drooling.

Seventy tons of thrust, it was truly too powerful. The Air Force Commander thought to himself: Even if I have to sacrifice my old face today, I must get this engine.

”Hey Commander, this engine was developed for us by Little Zhang; your Air Force cannot set its sights on it!”

Academician Qian immediately spread his hands, wanting to push the Air Force Commander and Li Xiangyang away.

”Academician Qian, our Air Force can exchange the engine used to build the h-20 with you!”

”That’s a Big Bear engine; its quality is quite reliable.”

”We will be responsible for the procurement of the Big Bear engine; you can use it with confidence.”

Li Xiangyang said, putting his arm around Academician Qian’s shoulder.

Academician Qian pushed Li Xiangyang away with a look of disgust. Academician Li Bing also didn’t expect Li Xiangyang, whom he had known for so many years, to be so shameless.

He actually wanted to exchange a Big Bear engine with only thirty-eight tons of thrust for a Yuanhang-2 Engine with seventy tons of thrust.

Zhao Sheng looked at Li Xiangyang in surprise, thinking, is the difference between me and the leaders that the leaders have thicker skin???

The Air Force Commander gave Li Xiangyang a big thumbs-up from behind.

”No!”

Academician Li Bing and Academician Qian finished speaking and were about to turn and leave. They didn’t want to see the Air Force Commander and Li Xiangyang.

”Hey, hey, don’t go! If you two think the conditions aren’t good enough, we can discuss it further!”

The Air Force Commander immediately grabbed the two.

”Commander, don’t even say it; we will not give up this engine.”

”Also, Commander, please leave; we need to get busy.”

Academician Li Bing said with firm eyes. Kidding me, not using a domestically produced and better quality engine, but instead using an almost inferior Big Bear engine? Do they think they’re crazy!

”No, no, please, two Academicians, reconsider. Our Air Force is willing to pay any price to get this engine.”

The Air Force Commander held their hands tightly.
