Build a Fifty-meter Giant Mecha at the Beginning!

15: The electromagnetic gun that shocked the world!News from overseas took two or three days to be brought back to China.

“Damn it! I’m going to die of anger.”

“Me too. If the official hadn’t deleted those videos immediately, and I hadn’t had time to save them, I would have certainly thrown that evidence in the faces of those Eagle Nation people.”

“I hope the officials can take action and let those arrogant Eagle Nation people experience the might of our Huaxia mechs.”

“Ah, these Eagle Nation people actually said we were bragging. Damn it, I saw the mech fly with my own eyes.”

…While the Chinese public was going crazy with anger, the team led by Academician Wu and Academician Zhao was on the verge of collapse.

When they came to the military base to research the mech, Academician Wu and Academician Zhao had both told their research personnel to adjust their mindset.

Everyone had prepared before coming, understanding that this mech would surely bring many surprises.

But they didn’t expect such a huge surprise right from the start.

A soldier standing guard with a rifle saw everyone staring at the mech, dumbfounded and not moving, and a hint of worry surfaced in his heart.

He immediately spoke into the walkie-talkie: “Colonel Lin Yun, come quickly. Something has happened to these scientists. They all seem to have been frightened by the mech or something.”

At this moment, Lin Yun, who was drinking tea in his office, heard the walkie-talkie and immediately grabbed the tablet Zhang Yuanhang used to operate the mech, rushing towards the large hangar where the mech was parked.

Because the mech was too large, only a hangar for large transport planes could barely accommodate it.

Lin Yun drove over in a hurry, and as soon as he entered the hangar, he saw everyone’s faces filled with shock.

“Academician Wu, Academician Zhao, what happened?”

Lin Yun came to the two Academicians, looking at them with concern.

“Lin Yun, do you know, this mech has a Laser Cannon hidden on each of its shoulders!”

Academician Wu, who was the first to react, pointed at the mech’s shoulders and said.

“This mech has weapons too!”

“Academician Wu, how did you discover it?”

Lin Yun looked at the mech’s shoulders in surprise. Because the researchers hadn’t yet fully understood the mech’s structure, and Zhang Yuanhang wasn’t present, the superior leaders didn’t allow Academician Wu and Academician Zhao to disassemble the mech.

So Lin Yun was very curious how Academician Wu and his team discovered the Laser Cannon hidden under the mech’s shoulders. He clearly remembered that Zhang Yuanhang hadn’t mentioned anything about a Laser Cannon when he left.

“We found some design drawings when they went to tidy up Comrade Xiao Zhang’s factory, and the Comrade soldiers sent them over.”

“It was thanks to these design drawings that we discovered the Laser Cannon hidden within this mech.”

Academician Wu said slowly.

“Why did Comrade Xiao Zhang think of installing a Laser Cannon?”

“I thought those military experts said that Laser Cannons weren’t practical in actual combat right now?”

Lin Yun was a bit puzzled. Given Zhang Yuanhang’s character, he shouldn’t install something purely for show on the mech.

“Initially, I thought the same, until I saw this.”

Academician Zhao brought over a blueprint, on which the words “Power 10,000 kilowatts” were clearly written.

“Is there anything special about this?”

Lin Yun indicated that the mention of kilowatts had already touched upon his blind spot in knowledge.

“Let me put it this way, ordinary lightning is usually between a few kilowatts and a few hundred kilowatts.”

“And the Laser Cannon installed on Comrade Xiao Zhang’s mech is 10,000 kilowatts.”

“It’s dozens, even hundreds of times more powerful than lightning.”

Academician Zhao said slowly.

“Exactly, do you know what the power of the most advanced Laser Cannon in Eagle Nation is right now?”

Academician Wu then asked Lin Yun.

Lin Yun shook his head.

“Eagle Nation’s most advanced Laser Cannon currently only has a power of 150 kilowatts.”

“And yet, Eagle Nation talks about it constantly.”

“This is 10,000 kilowatts!”

Academician Wu’s eyes were filled with shock; the surprise Zhang Yuanhang had given him was truly immense.

“Hiss!”

“Academician Wu, Academician Zhao, you’re not saying this Laser Cannon was made by Comrade Xiao Zhang himself, are you?”

Lin Yun drew a sharp breath. Was Zhang Yuanhang even human?

“Isn’t that obvious?”

Academician Wu and Academician Zhao rolled their eyes at Lin Yun, and both sighed, feeling that they were truly old.

“Hehe!”

“I’ll immediately arrange for a tank to test the power of this Laser Cannon.”

Lin Yun gave an awkward laugh, then quickly said.

“It’s possible, but do you have the authority to operate this mech?”

Academician Wu and Academician Zhao looked at Lin Yun in confusion. In the past few days, they had tried several times to activate the mech, but all attempts ended in failure.

“Of course I can!”

“This is the tablet Comrade Xiao Zhang uses for remote control of the mech. It’s been with me all along.”

Lin Yun wiped away non-existent dust from the tablet, while Academician Wu and Academician Zhao looked at Lin Yun with murderous intent.

“Well, well, you rascal.”

“We’ve been racking our brains trying to activate the mech here, and you actually have the tablet that can operate it.”

Academician Wu and Academician Zhao had thought Zhang Yuanhang took the tablet with him, but it turned out to be in Lin Yun’s hands.

“Gentlemen, I just didn’t remember it before.”

“At that time, I was busy handling Comrade Xiao Zhang’s school matters, and afterward, I forgot about it.”

Lin Yun, enduring the murderous glares of Academician Wu and Academician Zhao, quickly contacted the logistics department, intending to find a tank that was about to be decommissioned.

The news that the mech was going to be tested instantly reached Leader Jia at the military base, so he scurried over.

“Leader, why are you here?”

Lin Yun looked at his direct superior with surprise.

“This big guy is going to have a weapon test, how could I not come?”

Leader Jia rolled his eyes at Lin Yun, thinking to himself: This brat doesn’t even think to notify me at a time like this. I must give him a good workout when I get the chance.

Under the gaze of his direct superior, Lin Yun suddenly felt a chill down his spine, as if he had been targeted by a fierce tiger.

“Academician Wu, Academician Zhao, you two are truly pillars of the nation!”

“It’s only been a few days, and you’ve already installed weapons on this big guy. I wonder what kind of weapons were installed?”

Leader Jia looked at the mech in confusion.

He was extremely puzzled; the mech looked exactly the same as when he arrived. Where did the added weapons go? Did they add a pistol???

Academician Wu and Academician Zhao looked utterly embarrassed.

Lin Yun quickly pulled Leader Jia aside.

“Leader, Academician Wu and Academician Zhao still haven’t figured out what functions the mech has.”

“How could they possibly have installed any weapons!”

Lin Yun whispered into Leader Jia’s ear.

“Then I heard that you, young man, were asking the logistics department for a tank that was about to be retired. If they didn’t install weapons, why would you need a tank?”

Leader Jia scolded.

“The two Academicians didn’t install weapons, but that doesn’t mean Comrade Xiao Zhang didn’t.”

Lin Yun chuckled.

“The young fellow who made this mech also installed weapons? Where did he get the weapons?”

Leader Jia’s expression became serious. He knew that the one who built the mech was a university senior. How could a student get weapons?

“He made them himself.”

Lin Yun said.

“Holy cow, he made them himself? Talented people are just so willful, huh.”

Leader Jia’s mouth twitched.
