Build a Fifty-meter Giant Mecha at the Beginning!

30: Terrifying nuclear reactor, we want a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier!”Comrade Xiao Zhang, did you just say that the Nuclear Reactor Device you developed only weighs about ten tons?”

”How is the power output of this device?”

Old Wang thought that if the power output of this Nuclear Reactor Device could meet the needs of nuclear submarines and aircraft carriers, then China’s navy would achieve a great leap forward!

”Comrade Xiao Zhang, is there any problem with your device supplying power to an aircraft carrier?”

Lin Yun also understood what Old Wang meant; he placed his hands on Zhang Yuanhang’s shoulders and looked at Zhang Yuanhang with expectant eyes, as in Lin Yun’s view, Zhang Yuanhang was able to build such an advanced mecha.

A Nuclear Reactor Device would certainly not be a problem!

”Of course, no problem!”

”The electrical energy output by this device in one hour is enough to meet the daily electricity consumption of a population of one million.”

Zhang Yuanhang said confidently.

The Nuclear Reactor Device he manufactured could already meet the electricity needs of a sizable city with a population of one million, so using it on submarines and aircraft carriers was more than enough.

”Good, good, hurry, bring me my phone, I need to call the Capital!”

”And Lin Yun, strengthen the base’s security forces tenfold; right now, not even a mosquito should be able to fly into the base!”

”Remember, if any danger occurs, you must ensure the safety of Comrade Xiao Zhang.”

Old Wang said with a stern look; for China, Zhang Yuanhang was simply too precious.

In Old Wang’s view, Zhang Yuanhang was more important than an army of a million.

”Yes!”

Lin Yun nodded.

After finishing, Old Wang took the phone and went to the side.

”Comrade Xiao Zhang, go rest for a while; you’ve been exhausted lately.”

Academician Wu and Academician Zhao said in unison. Academician Sun still wanted to ask about the Laser Cannon, but thinking about how tired Zhang Yuanhang had been recently, he shut his mouth, waiting to find another opportunity to ask Zhang Yuanhang later.

”Alright, then, three Academicians, I will go to rest.”

Zhang Yuanhang smiled; after being busy all day, Zhang Yuanhang also wanted to rest.

”Mm-hmm!”

The three Academicians watched with smiles as Zhang Yuanhang walked away step by step.

”This child is just too terrifying; if the Government hadn’t investigated this child thoroughly and confirmed there were no issues...”

”...I would have suspected that this child was some kind of alien.”

Academician Zhao said slowly, gazing at Zhang Yuanhang’s back. Today, Zhang Yuanhang had shocked Academician Zhao once again.

”Yes, this child makes me feel like I’ve lived these past few decades in vain.”

Academician Sun said with a bitter smile. Being surpassed in a field he had deeply cultivated for decades by someone not even as old as his grandson made Academician Sun almost doubt his life.

”Stop sighing for now; let’s go check the mecha’s Nuclear Reactor Device.”

Academician Zhao said; he felt that it wouldn’t be long before the leaders above would definitely demand they go and inspect it to confirm if the facts were as Zhang Yuanhang had stated.

”Mm-hmm, let’s go!”

Academician Wu and Academician Sun nodded and turned to head to the hangar where the mecha was kept!

Capital.

At this moment, China’s Top Leader put down the document in his hand, picked up the phone to the side, and seeing the caller was Old Wang, he immediately answered, ”Old Wang, what’s the matter? Has there been some major progress with the mecha?”

Thinking that the mecha’s developer and manufacturer Zhang Yuanhang had already returned to Shancheng, China’s Top Leader immediately assumed that the researchers had made great progress with Zhang Yuanhang’s help.

”Chief, that’s right, there is major progress!”

”I just learned from Comrade Xiao Zhang that the mecha is nuclear-powered!”

While Old Wang was speaking, his body was dancing with excitement; fortunately, no one was around, otherwise, they would have definitely thought Old Wang had some kind of illness!

”Oh, I didn’t expect the mecha to be nuclear-powered!”

”That’s not right; where did this Comrade Xiao Zhang get a Nuclear Reactor Device?”

China’s Top Leader was full of confusion. One must know that China was a country with very strict control over dangerous goods; usually, even firearms would not appear.

How did this student, Zhang Yuanhang, manage to get a Nuclear Reactor Device that even some small countries didn’t have the strength to acquire?

China’s Top Leader picked up the tea to the side and took a sip.

”Chief, you simply cannot imagine; that Nuclear Reactor Device was researched and manufactured by Comrade Xiao Zhang himself.”

Old Wang said.

”Bang!”

The teacup fell directly from China’s Top Leader’s hand onto the table in front of him, soaking some important documents on it.

However, China’s Top Leader was in no mood to worry about that now; instead, he gripped the phone tightly and asked: ”Old Wang, you aren’t joking with me just now, are you?”

A young man in his twenties hand-crafted a Nuclear Reactor Device; this was truly too shocking.

”Chief, it’s true.”

”And what is terrifying is that Comrade Xiao Zhang’s Nuclear Reactor Device only weighs about ten tons, but the electrical energy produced in one hour is enough to meet the daily electricity consumption of a city of one million.”

Old Wang said.

”This Comrade Xiao Zhang is just too terrifying!”

”What if we move this Nuclear Reactor Device onto an aircraft carrier?”

China’s Top Leader swallowed his saliva, calmed his mood, and said slowly.

Currently, China was building its third aircraft carrier. This time, because China had not yet designed a Nuclear Reactor Device suitable for an aircraft carrier, they were building a conventionally powered aircraft carrier.

”Chief, I think it’s very feasible!”

”Comrade Xiao Zhang said that the Nuclear Reactor Device he designed and manufactured is only the size of a small car.”

”By then, engineers will only need to modify the internal space of the aircraft carrier to move the Nuclear Reactor Device onto it.”

Old Wang said excitedly.

Once the aircraft carrier adopted nuclear power, China’s aircraft carrier would possess long-range strike capabilities.

Moreover, the saved space could be used to store more fighter jets and various supplies.

This would be a qualitative improvement to the aircraft carrier’s combat effectiveness.

”Good, good, I’ll call the shipyard right now and have them pause the construction of the aircraft carrier.”

China’s Top Leader immediately hung up the phone and then dialed the shipyard’s number.

”Hello, is this the shipyard? Starting from now, temporarily pause the construction of the aircraft carrier and wait for further orders.”

China’s Top Leader said.

”Huh?”

The shipyard manager took his phone away from his ear and glanced at the screen; he suspected this was a scam call, but only believed it when he saw it was from China’s Top Leader’s dedicated line.

”Alright, Chief, I will immediately issue an order to stop building the aircraft carrier.”

Although the shipyard manager didn’t know what had happened, he still had the broadcast room issue this notice immediately.

At this moment, the Naval Commander was inside the shipyard; upon hearing the broadcast, he was immediately furious, ”What! Who the hell ordered it to stop!”

The naval officers present were one by one angrier than the other; they were looking forward to the early completion of this aircraft carrier with catapult capabilities every day.

It was one thing that the shipyard wasn’t working overtime to rush it, but to inexplicably stop work was unbelievable.

Thus, the Naval Commander, leading a group of extremely angry naval officers, ’stormed’ towards the shipyard manager’s office.
