The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1199: Chapter 1199: Black Market Relocation

Xiang Weinan picked up the iron plate, smiled, and looked at Shu Yu, ”In the end, you didn’t use it, did you?”

”I still appreciate Lord Xiang’s good intentions.”

Yes, you appreciated it, and then sent me a gift from the capital?

Xiang Weinan snorted, put the iron plate away, and then invited Shu Yu to sit as he personally poured her a cup of tea and inquired about the situation in the capital.

In fact, Xiang Weinan already knew what was happening there, but he had some questions about the details.

Unfortunately, he didn’t have the chance to attend such significant events in the capital.

Shu Yu mentioned it briefly and then asked about the black market’s activity, ”I heard from Brother Daniu that the black market seems to be relocating?”

Xiang Weinan leaned back in his chair, ”I told you, you just got back to Jiangyuan County and rushed to see me without even catching your breath, all for this, huh?”

Shu Yu thought he was being unfair. Didn’t she bring a gift box? And also clarified some doubts. Why did it seem like she always had ulterior motives whenever she visited? Couldn’t they just have a simple chat as friends?

Though...her main purpose indeed was the black market moving.

After all, her manor was so close to the black market, and if anything unexpected happened, what would happen to the hundreds of acres of sunflowers she had just planted? She was just about to make a big profit and didn’t want any mishaps.

Xiang Weinan didn’t beat around the bush. After taking a sip of tea, he said, ”The black market is indeed planning to move.”

”Really moving? Why?”

”It’s unclear for now, but the black market is indeed secretly looking for buyers for the hill and the house on it.” Xiang Weinan’s fingers lightly tapped the table, ”It seems to be because of that mirror. Ever since the mirror was bought by the Third Prince’s consort, weren’t there a lot of people coming to the black market in Jiangyuan County? Since then, the black market’s opening hours have been quite unstable.”

Shu Yu coughed lightly, ”...” Again with her mirror? Looks like she really needs to keep her identity under wraps.

Xiang Weinan glanced at her, feeling her expression was odd, but he didn’t ask further and continued, ”Last time when there was a murder at the Cui Family, Hu Li took the opportunity of the investigation to wander around the area and did find some clues.”

Shu Yu knew about this. If Little Ya’er hadn’t happened to run to that hill, Hu Li wouldn’t have had an excuse to get so close to the target.

However, when Hu Li returned, Shu Yu didn’t ask much.

”What clues?”

”The black market occasionally brings in rare items from outside for transactions and auctions when it opens. But Hu Li discovered that from that time on, there was no sign of items being brought in, only evidence of items being transported out. Later, the black market opened once more, and Lord Ding attended. I inquired after he returned. It’s said that from that time on, there were fewer items inside, and even the auctioned items were less than before.”

This feels like a clearance.

Shu Yu was puzzled, ”So the black market has been planning to withdraw from Jiangyuan County since then?”

”Hmm, it seems so.”

Shu Yu sighed, ”Then who will take over this black market and the hill? Who has been in contact with it?”

This was what Shu Yu was most concerned about; neighbors are indeed important.

Xiang Weinan really did have some idea of who the black market had been in contact with, and he had a good understanding of those people.

He gave Shu Yu some good news, ”No one has bought it for now.”

”No one bought it?”

”After all, it’s a hill, and you’ve visited the house on it. It’s not lavish, but it’s certainly better than an ordinary house, right?”
