The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1165: Chapter 1165: Going to the Hong Family to Say Goodbye

Gouwa blinked and finally dared to use his little hands to touch the clothes.

He touched it once, and since it was still fine, he touched it again.

Shu Yu could see that he still liked this outfit.

They didn’t try on any more outfits after that, but Shu Yu prepared two more sets that could be changed later.

Besides that, she also prepared two little hats and bought three pairs of shoes. Lastly, under the shopkeeper’s strong recommendation, she added a cloak.

Luckily, she knew how to restrain herself, otherwise she wouldn’t have been able to stop.

All the items were carried by Zhao Xi behind her, and Gouwa walked out wearing his new clothes.

The original patched-up outfit wasn’t thrown away; they carried it back together.

Leaving the ready-to-wear clothes shop, Shu Yu bought some candies and pastries for Gouwa to eat on the way. As the ship might be a bit boring, she also bought some toys.

Other things seemed unnecessary. In these times, there’s no milk powder or bath products for children, and no strollers or diapers to worry about.

Let’s see. If anything is missing, when the ship docks, she can go ashore and buy it.

After buying everything, Zhao Xi first took these things back to the small courtyard and had Old Doctor Zhao put them on the carriage.

As for Shu Yu, she carried Gouwa and took Ying Xi to the Hong Family.

Although the Hong Family and their small courtyard were only three streets apart, the environment was vastly different.

Here, the noise was overwhelming, people were chaotic, and the alleys were filled with all kinds of household items. Children ran wild, darting around and knocking things over, prompting people to curse loudly, causing quite the stir.

Shu Yu walked all the way to the Hong Family, with her ears feeling like they’re buzzing.

Finally reaching the Hong Family door, Shu Yu let out a long breath.

Ying Xi went to knock on the door, and after a while, a familiar voice came from inside, “Coming, coming.”

Sure enough, Aunt Hong opened the door and hesitated for a moment seeing the group at the entrance.

When she noticed Gouwa, her eyes involuntarily reddened.

She didn’t respond for a long time, but soon another voice came from inside, “Mom, who is it? Why are you just standing outside, you…”

As the voice drew nearer, Shu Yu saw a young woman of about twenty-five or twenty-six, munching on melon seeds as she approached.

However, when she saw Gouwa, her expression suddenly changed, and she tried to shut the door without a word, “Gouwa has been sent away, we won’t take him, don’t think you can return him, take him away, take him away.”

Ying Xi held the door firmly, and Shu Yu frowned at the woman, saying to Aunt Hong, “I’m not bringing Gouwa back; I’m taking him to say goodbye.”

Aunt Hong came to her senses, rubbed her eyes slightly, and after understanding her words, was taken aback, “Say, say goodbye?”

“Yes, Aunt left in a hurry yesterday, and we didn’t have the chance to tell you that we’re leaving the Capital today.”

Aunt Hong was stunned, “But, but… Gouwa…”

“We’re taking Gouwa along and will take good care of him.”

This time, the young woman didn’t close the door, but rather looked at them skeptically, then noticed Gouwa wearing a new outfit, and instantly her eyes brightened. She laughed and opened the door wide.

“Oh, it’s to say goodbye, then don’t stand at the door, come in and have a seat, let’s talk inside.”

Shu Yu indeed didn’t plan on talking at the door, so she walked inside.

Aunt Hong quickly led them to the living room, poured water for Shu Yu and the others, then frowned and asked, “Why are you leaving in such a hurry?”
