The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1179: Chapter 1179: Time to Part Ways

Shu Yu nodded, “Yes.”

After thinking for a moment, she carefully added, “And there’s your inn’s former Manager Fang, who was placed in Tianning County by Lord Gong to monitor the Meng family back then. Once he left, he probably won’t be coming back.”

The inn staff took a sharp breath, nearly tumbling down the steps in shock.

Fortunately, there were a few of the Three Scoundrels nearby, and they managed to steady him.

Shu Yu chuckled, “Shouldn’t you be happy that Manager Fang won’t be coming back?”

The staff’s expression seemed uncontrollable, “Ha, happy, very happy.” It was just a bit overwhelming.

Shu Yu shook her head, turning to see that Meng Pei and the others had already emerged from the crowd.

They still had matters to attend to, so they exchanged a few words with the neighbors and planned to chat more later before stepping out.

The door to the Meng family’s escort agency was closed as they greeted the staff and headed to the inn where they were staying.

After Meng Pei packed his things, he returned to the escort agency.

Shu Yu and the others rested for a night, and when they went back to the escort agency the next day, they found that Uncle Yan was already doing quite well.

Probably because he was healthy to begin with, coupled with Zhao Xi’s excellent medical skill, aside from some fatigue, Uncle Yan didn’t have any other discomfort.

When Shu Yu arrived, Meng Pei was discussing matters with Uncle Yan.

“…Yun and I will take Xin’s ashes back to the old Meng residence for a proper burial, and we’ll set off in a couple of days. Uncle Yan, would you like to come with us?”

Uncle Yan, however, shook his head, “Didn’t you say you wanted to renovate this house? You all don’t have the time, so leave this task to me. I promise to restore the house to its original state.”

After all, he’s been in Tianning County for so many years, even pretending to be crazy and becoming a beggar, so he’s very familiar with the situation in Tianning County and finding craftsmen and people is convenient.

After thinking for a moment, Meng Pei nodded, “Alright then.”

So the decision was made, and Uncle Yan would continue to stay in Tianning County.

Meng Pei and Meng Yunzheng would return to their hometown to bury Song Xin.

As for Shu Yu and the others, they would part ways here; they had to return to Jiangyuan County as soon as possible.

Having been away for a few months, Zhao Xi and Shuyou’s wedding date was fast approaching.

Old Doctor Zhao hadn’t even met his future disciple’s wife yet, and Zhao Xi had to hurry and handle the wedding preparations; he really didn’t have the time to run off somewhere else.

Shu Yu initially went to the capital out of concern for Meng Yunzheng, and now that everything was settled, there were many matters waiting for her to deal with in Jiangyuan County.

Counting up, it’s been more than three months, and the first batch of sunflowers had already passed their maturity period.

However…

Before leaving, there’s still one thing to take care of.

The next morning, Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng found Three Scoundrels’ house and asked him to take them to Yuelai Inn in Huajiang Prefecture to meet the person who wanted to go after the Meng family’s escort agency.

Three Scoundrels had a companion, and as soon as they entered the prefecture, they parted ways with Shu Yu and the others.

The two groups entered the Yuelai Inn one after the other.

The time Three Scoundrels had agreed with that person was between 9 a.m to 11 a.m. It wasn’t lunchtime yet, and though there were some people in the main hall, it wasn’t very crowded.

Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng found a table in the corner, ordered a pot of tea and some snacks, and began to chat while waiting.

But they kept waiting, and the person never appeared, even after half an hour.

Three Scoundrels grew anxious and sent his companion to check the door.

However, that companion went back and forth seven or eight times, still with nothing to show for it.
