The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1197: Chapter 1197 Ying Dong Kowtows

Regarding Daniu’s decision, Shu Yu didn’t express any opinion; after all, the old lady was there to give him advice.

She looked over at Little Song Le, who was still hiding behind Ying Xi. Ah Ning tried to talk to him several times, but he kept hiding.

Shu Yu approached Old Doctor Zhao and told him about Song Le’s behavior today.

Old Doctor Zhao was also a bit surprised, “Afraid of children? This could be troublesome, you have quite a few younger siblings.”

Besides having the twin siblings Ah Ning and Ah Rui, sometimes Madam Liang would bring Baoya over, Lu Sixing would bring Xiaozhen and Quanquan, and there were friends of the younger siblings. The house was bustling with children at times.

So many children, far ‘scarier’ compared to Aunt Hong’s house.

Old Doctor Zhao thought for a moment, “How about letting him stay with us?”

Shu Yu shook her head. In Liufang Alley, there were only Old Doctor Zhao and Zhao Xi, and Zhao Xi’s wedding was approaching, so they would surely be busy and have no time to look after a child.

It’s impossible to leave him at home alone, nor can he be taken everywhere all the time.

At the very least, the Lu family had several servants to help look after him.

“This is not a solution; he has to overcome this difficulty eventually.” If he avoids it every time, Shu Yu suspects he would remain like this for a lifetime, unable to speak or leave the house.

Old Doctor Zhao pondered, “Alright, I will talk to him more and try to unlock the knot in his heart.”

Speaking of ‘talking,’ he couldn’t help but sigh, chatting with someone who doesn’t speak is quite the challenge.

Things couldn’t be rushed. Shu Yu couldn’t force Little Song Le to accept Ah Ning’s friendliness all of a sudden.

She saw the child start to yawn, so she said goodbye to the old lady and sent him back to the room to sleep, then instructed Ying Xi to watch over him before going out to talk with the family members.

She also took this opportunity to disclose the situation of Meng Yunzheng.

The Lu family’s reaction was identical to Daniu’s earlier; even the old lady was unaware of Meng Yunzheng’s background.

“This kid, it’s been tough for him.”

A ten-year-old child harboring deep hatred stays close to his enemy, suppressing his hatred little by little to gain trust and gather evidence of his crimes; it takes such great courage and skill.

They just… couldn’t even imagine.

The old lady sighed, “No wonder he never disclosed his identity and origins; this, indeed, is not easy to explain.”

The old lady decided to treat him even better once he returns.

Shu Yu smiled and quickly changed the topic, talking about her experiences in the Capital. She took out the blueprint given by Yao Tianqin and handed it to Lu Erbai.

Lu Erbai treated it like a treasure and couldn’t wait to start looking at it.

Shu Yu worried he might not understand it, so she intended to explain it to him. But Lu Erbai waved it off, “Let’s discuss this after you’ve rested; there’s no rush now.”

Madam Ruan noticed it was already late afternoon and, fearing Shu Yu was tired, stood up and pushed her back to her room to rest.

Since she was back, there would be plenty of opportunities to chat and talk later.

So Shu Yu was escorted back to her room, and even dinner was served there.

Maybe she was indeed exhausted from the long journey; nowhere outside could compare to the comfort of her own bed, and she slept very deeply that night.

She didn’t wake until the sun was high the next day, and just as she stepped out of Yu Garden, Ying Dong suddenly rushed to her and knelt before her with a loud ‘thump,’ knocking his head heavily on the ground.
