The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1173: Chapter 1173: Uncle Yan Falls Unconscious

The staff instantly shut their mouths, watching as they all went in one by one. He hesitated for a moment and quickly went in as well.

The Quansheng Escort Agency was originally quite large; most of the front yard remained intact, but the backyard had completely burned down.

Uncle Yan used to live in the rear house, and that house was still fine.

Meng Pei instinctively went to his former room to look first, but there was no one inside.

“Let’s search the other rooms, split up and look around.”

Just as Meng Pei finished speaking, he suddenly heard rustling sounds nearby.

He paused, frowned, and raised his hand, saying, “Wait a minute, there’s a noise over there, maybe it’s in the front, let’s go check it out.”

Meng Pei led the way forward, and the others immediately followed.

They thought the noise was made by Uncle Yan, but it wasn’t.

The sound came from the burned-down backyard. When Shu Yu and the others arrived, they saw several people stuffing an unconscious Uncle Yan into a sack.

Meng Yunzheng’s expression changed slightly, and he stepped forward angrily, “What are you doing?”

The group was startled, and when they looked up and saw a gathering of people, they immediately panicked and quickly let go.

The inn staff came in a couple of steps late, and upon seeing them, frowned, “Three Tealess, it’s you? What are you doing here?”

He pointed at the unconscious Uncle Yan on the ground, eyes wide with shock, “You’re actually committing murder.”

The four from Three Tealess hurriedly clarified upon hearing this, “What nonsense are you talking about? Who’s murdering? He’s not dead yet.”

“Then why are you putting him in a sack?” the staff questioned before saying to Shu Yu and the others, “Three Tealess are thugs in this county town, usually up to petty theft. They must have come in through the ruins of the backyard.”

Faced with the staff’s questioning, the three of them were evasive, clearly lacking confidence.

Meng Yunzheng and Zhao Xi had already moved forward to support Uncle Yan.

Three Tealess instinctively tried to block them, “What are you doing? Who said you could touch… ah…”

Before finishing the sentence, he was kicked away by Meng Yunzheng and couldn’t even crawl up from the ground.

Zhao Xi crouched down and checked Uncle Yan’s pulse, frowning, “He’s caught a chill and developed a high fever. It’s quite severe; he’s unconscious and needs immediate treatment to reduce the fever. Let’s get him back to the room first.”

“Alright.” Meng Yunzheng had Zhao Xi help out and carried Uncle Yan on his back.

Before leaving, he glanced at Shu Yu, who smiled with curved lips, “You go ahead, I’ll take care of things here.”

Meng Yunzheng nodded and hurriedly carried Uncle Yan back to the rear house.

Zhao Xi and the worried Meng Pei followed along.

In that short time, only Shu Yu and Ying Xi, and the indecisive inn staff were left in the courtyard.

With the departure of several burly and tough strangers, the four from Three Tealess breathed a sigh of relief and relaxed significantly.

Three Tealess was helped up by his partners, patted his backside in dissatisfaction, spat on the ground, and muttered, “I wasn’t holding a grudge, otherwise how could he walk away so easily?”

Shu Yu crossed her arms, raised an eyebrow, and smiled, “Oh? I thought it was because you had enough self-awareness to know you couldn’t win, so you just lay there until they left.”

Three Tealess instantly displayed a fierce expression, “What did you say, bitch?”

“I said, shouldn’t you explain why you’re here?”
