The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1166: Chapter 1166: Please Auntie Help Keep an Eye

Shu Yu shook her head, “The departure from the capital was decided early on. Honestly, if Aunt had sent Gouwa just a day later, we would have missed it.”

Aunt Hong was stunned, and the young woman beside her was even more relieved.

Fortunately, she sent him a day earlier, otherwise, Gouwa would have had no place to stay and would have been brought back by her own mother-in-law.

Thinking of this, she couldn’t help but smile.

Aunt Hong, on the other hand, was in a daze. After a long pause, she asked softly, “So, where will you go after leaving the capital? Will you return in the future?”

Shu Yu did not hide from her, “We will go to Dongan Province. As for coming back to the capital…”

She paused, looked up, and smiled, “We will definitely return, but probably not in the near future. I can only tell you that, at the latest, we will return to the capital in four years. By then, Gouwa will be six or seven years old, just in time to bring him back to see you again.”

Besides, Meng Yunzheng plans to take the examination next year. With his knowledge, barring any accidents, he won’t need to retake it. From the county exam to the provincial and academy exams, all the way to the final imperial exam, he will eventually come to the capital.

Aunt Hong breathed a sigh of relief, “Well, that’s okay.”

Four years will pass in a flash; she can wait.

She lowered her head to look at Gouwa, and at this moment, the child just happened to look up, blinked his eyes, and suddenly seemed to remember something, reaching out to tug her sleeve.

Aunt Hong squatted down, smiled, and patted his head, “Don’t be afraid. Look, your uncle bought new clothes for you. Follow them, and even if you leave the capital, you’ll surely live a good life.”

But Gouwa lowered his head, his little hand reached into his clothes pocket, and momentarily, he fished out a candy, and before Aunt Hong could react, he stuffed it into her mouth.

The sweet flavor instantly filled her mouth, leaving Aunt Hong startled.

She looked at Gouwa, then at Shu Yu, who smiled and said, “It’s some snacks I bought for him. Though Gouwa doesn’t speak much, he clearly likes you, that’s why he gave it to you.”

Aunt Hong couldn’t hold back her tears any longer, and they suddenly welled up in her eyes.

She reached out to hug Gouwa’s small body, “Gouwa, don’t blame Auntie, Auntie has no choice. You must take good care of yourself.”

The young woman watched with some jealousy, staring at Gouwa’s little pocket for a while, confirming there should be quite a bit left, and quickly said to Aunt Hong, “Mother, stop crying, you’ll scare Gouwa. He’s going to live a good life, don’t bring bad luck. Since Gouwa will be gone for several years, I’ll call back his cousins for a proper farewell.”

After saying that, she went out.

How could Aunt Hong not know what she’s thinking? Always eager to take advantage, eyeing the few candies in Gouwa’s pocket.

She wanted to call her back, but Shu Yu smiled and spoke, “Aunt, I have another favor to ask of you this time.”

“Oh, go ahead,” Aunt Hong quickly got up and sat on a small stool, pulling Gouwa over as well.

Since the young woman hadn’t left yet, she hugged him again.

Shu Yu said, “About Gouwa’s mother, if you have any news of her, please send us a message.”

“But, but I can’t write,” Aunt Hong said, a bit flustered.

“It’s okay, just go to No. 79 Dahe Lane in the south of the city and find someone named Chu Xian; he will send the message for us.”
