The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1161: Chapter 1161: Obedient Gouwa

Shu Yu gave Ying Xi a look, and the latter immediately chased after her, following Aunt Hong to learn the address of the Hong Family.

Those left in the living room exchanged glances, and Shu Yu said to them, “You all… go ahead and discuss, I’ll take the child to wash up and eat something.”

She had several younger brothers and sisters, and had also taken care of Fourth Aunt’s son who was just a year old, so she had some experience.

Shu Yu squatted down, trying to soften her voice as she spoke to the child, “Are you called Gouwa? Can we get to know each other? From now on, you can call me Aunt Lu, okay?”

Gouwa didn’t respond, and Shu Yu didn’t expect him to answer her. She gently touched his hand that wasn’t holding the beads, and seeing that he didn’t resist, she lightly hooked it and smiled, “Would you like to come with me to take a rest inside?”

She stood up, holding Gouwa’s hand, and walked inside.

Gouwa obediently followed her, Aunt Hong was nowhere to be seen, and he didn’t look outside, quietly lowering his head. Shu Yu held his hand, and he followed her lead.

Shu Yu lowered her eyes to look at his small head.

It seemed that what Aunt Hong said was true, Gouwa, although not talking, was very obedient and compliant, and he could understand what you were saying.

After bringing the child back to the room, Shu Yu went to get a basin of warm water, wrung a soft handkerchief, and sat across from him, smiling, “How about I clean your face and wipe your hands?”

Gouwa didn’t speak, so Shu Yu gently helped him wipe his little face and hands.

His right hand was still holding the wooden beads, so Shu Yu thought for a moment and said to him, “Gouwa, can you switch the beads to your left hand for a moment? You can switch it back later.”

Gouwa was silent for a long time, and Shu Yu, with great patience, just smiled and waited for him.

The child finally let go of his little hand and switched the beads to his left hand.

Shu Yu gave herself a little credit and helped him wipe his right hand.

After wiping, Meng Yunzheng came in with a bowl of noodle lumps.

“Other things take longer to cook, so I went to the kitchen and made these noodle lumps.”

Shu Yu took the bowl; Meng Yunzheng had brought a small bowl with not many noodle lumps inside, so it wouldn’t be a problem to get more if finished.

Shu Yu scooped some noodle lumps with a small spoon, blew on it to cool it, and fed it to Gouwa.

The child stared in a daze, then raised his head to look at Shu Yu.

Although he seemed unaffected, his stomach grumbled at just the right moment.

Shu Yu laughed, “Look, your little stomach is telling you it’s time to eat.”

On the child’s face, a rare expression other than dazed confusion appeared, and he lowered his head again, looking at his stomach.

So his little stomach’s growling meant it was telling him to eat? He hadn’t known that before.

Well, then he should eat.

Gouwa opened his mouth and took a bite of the noodle lumps.

Then paused for a moment, and the second time he opened his mouth, it was faster.

Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng exchanged a glance, seeing how thin the child was, they both understood what kind of life this little one had lived before.

The food probably wasn’t very good either.

The noodle lumps that Meng Yunzheng brought in, though not plentiful, were made of fine white flour, much softer than rougher flour, most suitable for children to eat.

There was also half an egg nestled at the bottom, and when the noodle lumps on top were finished, Gouwa obediently ate the egg as well.

After eating, he let out a soft little burp.

Shu Yu wiped his mouth and said with a smile, “Looks like you’re full. Let’s rest for a bit and then go to bed early, okay?”

Gouwa still didn’t have much reaction, just looking at Shu Yu.
