The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1175: Chapter 1175 Someone Has Ideas About the Escort Agency

The Third Scoundrel whispered, ”He’s unconscious, the fever won’t break, he’s not going to last much longer anyway.”

As he spoke, he glanced up, his voice even lower, ”We’re just thinking of taking him out, leaving him somewhere, letting him fend for himself, so we brothers can move in earlier.”

Shu Yu listened, raising an eyebrow, looking at them with a half-smile.

The Third Scoundrel’s heart skipped a beat, ”You don’t believe me?”

”I don’t believe you.”

”But I’m telling the truth, really.” He pointed to his companions behind him, ”If you don’t believe me, ask them, I’m not lying to you.”

Shu Yu sighed, and behind her, Ying Xi was already bringing over a chair. Shu Yu gave her a ’good job’ look, then sat comfortably before asking, ”You say you’re telling the truth, then can you tell me about the origin of this Quansheng Escort Agency? Just a few small-time crooks like you dare to target this place? Are you kidding me? Aren’t you afraid of that big official in the capital?”

The staff behind her nodded repeatedly, indeed, indeed, this house is related to Lord Gong in the capital, it’s something few in Tianning County don’t know.

Although there were people eyeing this house before, they all had some ability, planning to go through legitimate channels. Even if the old beggar dies, with the Third Scoundrel’s behavior, wanting to take over this house? They’re dreaming.

The Third Scoundrel instinctively replied, ”Didn’t that big official in the capital get beheaded?”

Shu Yu narrowed her eyes, ”Where did you hear he was beheaded?”

The staff’s eyes widened, ”Lord Gong was beheaded? When did this happen?”

Information spreads very slowly these days. Though the affair of Gong Qiu was a big deal, Shu Yu was sure that in a small county town like Tianning, within a month, it hadn’t reached the point where everyone knows.

See, even this staff at the inn hadn’t heard yet?

Only then did the Third Scoundrel realize he spoke too fast and quickly lowered his head.

”Not talking? Then I’ll have to use force.” Shu Yu stood up, placed a foot on his hand, and slowly ground it down.

The Third Scoundrel’s face changed drastically, ”Ah, it hurts, it hurts, stop stepping on it, I’ll talk, I’ll talk, okay?”

A hooligan like him isn’t particularly brave, a little suffering and he’d confess everything.

He swallowed, then said, ”It’s not like us brothers couldn’t find work in the county town, so we thought of going to the prefecture. With the docks bustling with people, maybe we could find something to do, so a few days ago, we went to the prefecture.”

The staff sneered, couldn’t find work? It’s because the county town’s people know their reputations, and as soon as they see them coming, they stay far away, so likely the Third Scoundrel and his group went to the prefecture to pickpocket.

”Huajiang Prefecture is very prosperous, ships come and go frequently at the docks, we strolled around the prefecture, but who knew we accidentally offended someone.” The Third Scoundrel’s voice dropped at this point, actually, they were caught red-handed while stealing someone’s money.

”That person wanted to turn us over to the authorities, so we brothers definitely had to escape. Later that person said, they could give us a chance. If we could take over Quansheng Escort Agency for him, he would not only let us go but also give us a sum of money.”

”But the old beggar was guarding Quansheng Escort Agency, and it was linked to Lord Gong in the capital, we didn’t dare. It was that person who told us that Lord Gong was beheaded, we just needed to deal with the old beggar.”
