The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1160: Chapter 1160: The Child Stayed

But Dazhuang had to look at this wooden bead every night, and if it was missing, it seemed like he would fall ill, causing a fuss.

Aunt Hong also tried to replace it with another similar bead, but Dazhuang saw through it at once.

Luckily, Dazhuang had kept it in the house for so many years, and no one had ever found it.

Until he got married and handed over that wooden bead to his wife.

Before his wife was taken back to her family, she placed it in the palm of their infant son, Gouwa.

Gouwa cared even more about the wooden bead than Dazhuang did, and Aunt Hong couldn’t take it away.

However, Gouwa was always at home, so young and constantly watched by her, it didn’t really matter.

It was only today, when she was to bring Gouwa, that the bead fell before everyone.

Aunt Hong looked up at them and said softly, “I have no ability, my husband is gone, there are daughter-in-law and grandchildren in the family, and I dare not think about finding the murderer. But you all, if, if you know any influential people, perhaps you may find the murderer from back then to avenge the entire Song Family.”

Anyway, that bead is the clue.

Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng exchanged a glance, the murderer is Gong Qiu, there’s no doubt about it.

Aunt Hong, “Alright, I’ve said everything clearly, the child is now in your hands.”

Zhao Xi asked her, “Is the child ill with something?”

Aunt Hong’s expression changed slightly, but she didn’t say anything.

Zhao Xi said, “I’m a doctor.”

Aunt Hong was taken aback and sighed, “I don’t know what kind of illness, anyway, he’s always been like this, now he’s two years old, and he hasn’t spoken a word, and seems out of it. I’ve taken him to see a doctor, they said their medical skill wasn’t good enough, no way, maybe only an Imperial Physician could treat it. But where would I have the ability and money to invite someone like that, so we’ve just raised him like this for a few years.”

Worried they might not want to take care of him due to his illness, Aunt Hong hurriedly said, “Gouwa is very obedient, he just doesn’t speak, but whatever we ask him to do he would obediently comply. He’s not a fool, his father Dazhuang may be out of sorts now, but that’s because of a smoke-related incident, originally he was very healthy and clever, Gouwa wasn’t born from a big fool.”

The last sentence Aunt Hong spoke very quietly, it was what her own talkative daughter-in-law used to say.

It was because she didn’t get along with her daughter-in-law and saw her secretly bullying Gouwa that Aunt Hong decided to bring this child over.

She was getting older and had to rely on her son and daughter-in-law, and she was unable to protect and raise this child anymore.

Moreover, Gouwa after all wasn’t blood-related to her, so naturally, he should be given to his uncle to look after.

“He’s certainly no fool.” Shu Yu disliked the word fool.

She thought Gouwa was a bit like he had autism, but also somewhat different.

But after all, she wasn’t a doctor and couldn’t make a judgment, so she could only let Zhao Xi and Doctor Zhao take a look later.

Aunt Hong nodded, “As long as you don’t treat him like a fool, that’s good. It’s already dark outside, and my home is far away, I better get going.”

She didn’t delay any longer, went over to say goodbye to Gouwa, “Don’t follow me now, from now on, from now on, we won’t see each other again, you live your own life well.”

She turned and left, this time Gouwa didn’t run after her, just looked at her back blankly, his eyes brimming with tears.

But he still didn’t make a sound, yet his small body wobbled slightly, standing there all alone.
