The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1184: Chapter 1184 Sooner or Later Something Will Happen

Meng Yunzheng followed her gaze and raised an eyebrow, ”Is this... a high-speed spinning drum?”

Shu Yu nodded, just as the shopkeeper saw them, and said, ”You two recognize this thing as well? To be honest, this agricultural tool is called a high-speed spinning drum, and it’s quite the popular new thing benefiting the people. You take a walk outside, and there aren’t many who wouldn’t know about it.”

Shu Yu certainly knew about it, having seen its prototype when it first came out.

She found it odd, ”Since it’s an agricultural tool, it shouldn’t have much to do with your restaurant. Why isn’t the God of Fortune on display, but rather this thing?”

The shopkeeper laughed heartily, slightly proud, ”That’s something you wouldn’t know, miss. This high-speed spinning drum was presented to the throne by Lord Yao, the current Minister of Public Works in the capital. The Yao Family’s home is right here in Huajiang Prefecture. Our restaurant’s boss is Lord Yao’s brother.”

So, putting the high-speed spinning drum on the counter is no different from displaying the God of Fortune.

Shu Yu was stunned, then exchanged a glance with Meng Yunzheng.

Oh right, she almost forgot that Yao An’s home is in Huajiang Prefecture. So, this restaurant is run by the Yao Family?

Shu Yu looked at the menu board hanging behind the counter, where the prices were listed. They were much higher than what they’d seen at the Yuelai Inn earlier, but the layout and style of the restaurant were quite similar to Yuelai Inn.

Looking again at the menu board, it seemed quite new, clearly having been replaced within the last six months.

Goodness, not only did they send Yao An to the capital for Yao Tianqin to arrange a minor official post for him, but they also flaunt and gather wealth in the name of Minister of Public Works, Yao Tianqin.

”Sir, miss, please come inside?” after explaining the background of the restaurant, the shopkeeper cheerfully invited Shu Yu and the others in.

But Shu Yu had no desire to enter; she wasn’t a fool, and didn’t want to send her money to line the Yao Family’s pockets.

Shu Yu smiled and asked, ”Do you cook with sunflower oil here?”

The shopkeeper was taken aback, sunflower oil? What was that oil?

He shook his head, ”We always use premium pork lard and rapeseed oil.”

Shu Yu sighed, ”That’s no good. I only like dishes cooked with sunflower oil.”

Meng Yunzheng comforted her, ”If this place doesn’t have it, we’ll look elsewhere. Huajiang Prefecture is big, we’ll find it somewhere.”

”That’s true.” Shu Yu nodded, ”Then let’s go, and try somewhere else.”

Without waiting for the shopkeeper to stop them, they left the restaurant.

The shopkeeper furrowed his brows, murmuring, ”What kind of oil is this sunflower oil? Never even heard of it.”

He called over the staff nearby, asking him to find out where in Huajiang Prefecture sunflower oil was sold.

As soon as the staff left, Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng appeared from around the corner.

Shu Yu was delighted beyond words, ”In the future, when my sunflower oil hits the market, I’ll use this method to advertise in the restaurants. What do you think?”

”That’s doable.”

”But the Yao Family is truly shameless, doing business under Uncle Yao’s name, completely unethical. I just checked, and even though it’s not exactly a dining hour, there are so many patrons in the restaurant.”

Shu Yu thought that more than half were attracted by Yao Tianqin, the Minister of Public Works.

Meng Yunzheng, ”If it goes on like this, something is bound to happen sooner or later.”

The Yao Family treated Shu Yu well, and naturally, they couldn’t ignore such matters.
