My Alleged Husband

Chapter 442: Chapter 421 The Strange Grandma_1

Zhang Ni returned home and saw Ran Zhihan standing at the door. She said to Ran Zhihan, ”So you know to come back, where have you been these days? Not coming back for such a long time, don’t you know that dad and mom would worry? How did dad and mom teach you? Surely they didn’t teach you to run away from home and not come back? If there was an issue, couldn’t you just talk to dad and mom properly? Do you have to run away from home? Do you know that such behavior can make others think you’re a bad kid?”

”Mom, I’m sorry, it wasn’t intentional. I know I shouldn’t have run away from home, but mom, this wasn’t running away from home, I was just out playing. But on the way, I met a strange old lady. She held on to me and wouldn’t let me go, I had no other way, I couldn’t just push the old lady away and leave, right? If she got hurt, then wouldn’t I have to take responsibility? Mom, it’s you who told me to treat people well. I didn’t want the old lady to get hurt, so I stayed with her for a bit longer. Is what I did really wrong? Why am I being scolded so fiercely by my mom when I come home happily, feeling like you don’t love me anymore?”

”What, when you do something wrong, you still think you’re right? Don’t you know that when mom is teaching you, you can’t talk back? Do you know that this will make mom feel like you’re not the good child anymore, that you’ll make mom feel like you’re no longer my most beloved son? Can you not consider how your actions may cause mom and dad to worry? It’s not that what you did was wrong, but you should at least tell your mom and dad in advance, right? Letting mom and dad worry for nothing, fearing that something might have happened to you outside, do you think that’s fun? You’re a child, not a hoodlum. How can you do such things? At such a young age you’re not learning good behavior. Who knows what you’re playing at outside, and some strange old lady too, who’s going to believe you? You don’t come home late at night, do you think your parents will believe these stories, will they continue to love you like before? When you do something wrong, you should take responsibility. Are you trying to shift the blame onto others? Is this how mom and dad taught you to behave? Why don’t you know even the most basic principles of behavior? Do you know? Doing such things is making mom and dad very sad. Look at the time now, Old Master Zhang has been waiting for you to come home because he’s worried something might happen to you outside. He didn’t sleep all night, just waiting for you to return. Can’t you consider the old man’s feelings? Why do you also not understand that this kind of behavior makes everyone worried and scared for you? Don’t you use your brain when you act? Is your brain there just for decoration? Or is it that in your heart you don’t care at all about your parents’ and family’s feelings, and only care about your own happiness?”

Zhang Ni burst into tears, and when Elder Zhang saw the child crying, his heart softened. He was very angry and worried about what might have happened to him outside, but when he saw Zhang Ni’s tears rolling down his cheeks, it hurt his heart. He didn’t want to see him cry!

”Zhihan, enough, enough has been said. The child is back safe and sound, and that’s what matters most. Don’t keep on hurting her. Can’t you see she’s already crying? A few words are enough!”

”Grandfather, it’s not that I want to criticize him, but I think this incident is very bad. Have you not considered? He didn’t come home until late at night this time, what about next time? What if, next time, he does the same thing again, not coming home late at night, making our entire family worry for no reason? I feel that no matter what the circumstances are, even if you’re busy with something outside, you should at least call home to let everyone know. She’s already five years old, not a little kid anymore. Besides, her intelligence is far beyond her peers. Why can’t she think of this? What exactly is she doing outside, who knows? And now she’s coming up with some strange old lady? I just stepped out for a bit, and she’s already learned to lie.”

”Mom, I really didn’t lie, there really was a strange old lady. She even asked me what my parents’ names are. She kept holding on to me and would not let me go. The strange old lady told me that if I leave, she would be too lonely waiting there by herself. Then I felt I couldn’t bear to leave her alone, so I stayed with her a little longer. Finally, with great difficulty, I made my way back. But why are you scolding and snapping at me the moment I return? Did I really do something wrong? I didn’t mean not to come home, I just wanted to spend more time with that old lady. Is it wrong that I envy other kids who have grandparents to accompany them? She was really kind to me, so I wanted to stay and accompany her a little longer. I didn’t expect that I would be scolded for doing something wrong when I got back.”

”Mom didn’t say what you did was wrong, but you must call home and report your safety. Don’t you have the most basic manners? Does making everyone worried and upset make you happy inside? Why don’t you think things through before acting? Where did all your intelligence and IQ go? All those years of studying, did you really learn nothing? Didn’t your mom tell you that you can’t lie to mom and dad about anything, are you sure you’re not lying to mom and dad right now? Are you sure everything you said was true? Who can prove these words are true? Why did you stay there with that strange old lady? What if she was a bad person and abducted you? What would mom and dad do then? Didn’t you know this would make mom and dad worry even more? From now on, don’t you dare go out again. Starting from now, you’re grounded for reflection, and until the New Year, you’re not allowed to step out of this house. Otherwise, mom and dad will disown you as their child!”

”Got it, mom, please don’t be mad at me anymore. I won’t run off again. I’ll stay home and be good, and not make my parents worry any longer. Mom, I’m sorry. I made a mistake and didn’t consider the consequences, causing you, dad, and grandpa concern. Please don’t be angry anymore; I’m going upstairs to reflect...”
