My Alleged Husband

Chapter 420: Chapter 399: Don’t Make Me Look Back_1

”Great-grandpa, but I still don’t understand, why do other kids have their grandparents around? Why have I never met my grandparents? Is it because I’m not cute enough, and they don’t like me and don’t want to be with me? But I’ve tried so hard, I’ve tried to make myself look better, but this is just how I was born. There’s nothing I can do if my grandparents don’t like me. I only hope they could be by my side, but why is it so hard? I don’t ask for much, I just wish my grandparents would glance at me every now and then, cherish me as their little darling, but my grandparents never look at me, never stay by my side, making me feel so unbalanced inside, making me feel so much pain when I see other children with their grandparents. I too want my grandparents by my side. Even if they like to hit me, or scold me, I don’t mind. It would be so good to have them with me, but why can’t you, why won’t you even agree to my requests? Is it so painful for them just to be with me? I just hope my grandparents could love me a bit, always, even if it’s only a minute each day, even if only the tiniest amount, it would already be enough for me. But since I was born, I’ve never met my grandparents, I’ve always been brought up under the care of my father, mother, and you, great-grandpa. I don’t even know what my grandparents look like. Many kids probably think I’m someone without grandparents. Maybe my grandparents really don’t want to see me, the burden, maybe they think it’s me who has dragged down my parents, making their life so hard every day, so my grandparents hate me!”

When Old Master Zhang heard such a small child say these words, he was in great pain inside. Why can these adults never consider things from the children’s perspectives? Why are parents always so selfish? How many more selfish parents are there in the world like this? Why did he have such a selfish son? Why must his son live so selfishly? You never consider things from other people’s point of view, your own child has already suffered the pain of not having the affection of relatives once, so why make your grandson suffer once more? Such grandparents are too plentiful in this world. But why did all these misfortunes have to happen to him? He didn’t want much, just hoping to see his family happy together before he died, to have a reunion during the holidays, but why is this simple desire so difficult for him, yet it’s so easily dismissed by others? Why would no one sacrifice just a little bit for the sake of all he has given over and over again? And yet, in their eyes, the only thanks he received was this treatment. Why did he even bother asking them to come back home? If he could turn back time, he definitely wouldn’t have asked them to come back, letting them be unable to return home, sparing his child from suffering once more. Is it because he was too timid that he let his beloved family suffer over and over again? If he had been firmer from the start, if he had banished them from home forever, would all this have been avoided?

”Silly child, you’re overthinking it. How could your grandparents not love you? Maybe they just don’t know how adorable you’ve grown. From the day you were born, your grandparents weren’t by your side, and even on that day, your grandparents didn’t appear, so they don’t know how cute their grandchild is. Don’t be too sad; one day, your grandparents will realize what a lovely child you are. They will regret everything they did to you before. Today, you must be strong, remember what I’ve told you. You must grow up well, obey, and not disappoint your parents, okay? You must prove to your grandparents that you are a very good child, a kind child, your determination can change everything. Be brave like your father, look forward, don’t listen to what those people behind you say. You must believe that having your parents’ love is already enough. There are many people in the world who have grandparents but don’t have their parents around. Aren’t you lucky? Although your grandparents are not with you, your parents are always by your side. Isn’t having your parents’ love better and more perfect than having your grandparents’ love? If your grandparents were always with you, then how could your parents be with you? You would miss out on the happiness of having your parents always by your side, you silly child. Sometimes you need to stop and think, and you won’t feel so bad. Think about it, and don’t be foolish. There are children who see their grandparents all the time, but have you ever seen their parents? Maybe not even once. That’s because their parents aren’t with them; they only have their grandparents. So the world is fair. Having parents by your side and not grandparents is normal. Other kids may have grandparents with them, but their parents aren’t, so they also live a very hard and difficult life, don’t they? You must never compare yourself with those children. You should think about how to make those who abandoned you regret it. That’s the right goal! This time, if your grandparents decide not to come back, then I won’t look back either. I won’t turn back to forgive your grandparents. Since they have chosen to leave this family, they should never come back for the rest of their lives. We don’t need them in this house...”
