My Alleged Husband

Chapter 415: Chapter 394 The Most Useless Language_1

”My dearest son, I’m sorry, it’s because of daddy’s fault that you no longer have a mother, it’s because of me that your mother left you once again. All of these mistakes are mine, and I hope you don’t hate me. I had no choice; I only wished for your mother to truly stay by my side, with no other man in her heart. But she harbored feelings for someone else, so how do you expect me, as a husband, to feel inside?”

Zhang Yichen never expected that, even now, his father would still wrongfully accuse his mother. He would never believe that his mother could have an affair because he knew how much she loved his father. Why did everything look so unpleasant in his father’s eyes? Was his mother such a woman to his father from the beginning? If that were the case, why bother getting together with so much effort only to hurt each other later? Wasn’t that a superfluous act? If so, they should not have chosen to be together at all. How could he explain all this to his father? He simply couldn’t believe these words would come from his father’s mouth when he knew how much his father once loved his mother. Was all that supposed love just a façade, not truly from the heart?

”Dad, to be honest, I don’t believe mom had an affair. I know the kind of person my mother is, but I don’t understand how your relationship with her turned out this way. Clearly you love my mother deeply, but you still say things that hurt her feelings. If my mother hears what you said to me today, can you imagine how heartbroken and painful it would be for her? She loved you so much that she gave everything to you, and yet you end up slandering her like this. Do you think this is what a husband should do?”

”Son, I’m sorry, it was wrong of me to say those things. I shouldn’t have doubted your mother, and I hope you won’t tell her about this. I was wrong, I’m sorry...”

”I’ve said it before, the most useless words in the world are ’I’m sorry.’ If saying ’I’m sorry’ could fix everything in the world, then why do we need police? If a bad person does something wrong and hurts someone, can just saying ’I’m sorry’ make it as if it never happened? That’s impossible, isn’t it? Since you have already deeply hurt mom’s heart, do you think saying these things now serves any purpose? To me, you only seem hypocritical. These words came from your mouth and hurt someone, and now you apologize, saying you’re sorry, as if these simple words could heal her inner wounds. Do you think that’s right? Since you decided to hurt my mother, you shouldn’t try to console her anymore, as it would only bring her more pain. Her own husband suspects that she has another man while at home she’s devoted herself wholeheartedly to her husband who repeatedly and constantly slanders her! Dad, I’ve never thought that you were unworthy of mom, but today I realized, a man like you shouldn’t be with my mother. It causes her immense inner pain, do you understand? Mom loved you so much, yet you never trusted her, never believed in her devoted heart that had space only for you. Do you know what the biggest taboo between husband and wife is? It’s being overly suspicious. You chose not to trust her, so why are you still together? Like this, you are both bound to end up battered and bruised. If it’s destined to fail, don’t give each other hope, it only ends up causing even deeper wounds! Since you’ve already made this decision, I won’t persuade you otherwise. If you really want to separate from my mother, then never disturb her life, whether she lives abroad or at home it’s no longer your concern. I hope you will completely clear the boundaries with my mom and not disturb her peace anymore. Since you’ve chosen to let go, I hope you’ll truly cut all ties with her, and not give her false hope. As hope shatters over and over, it only brings despair and unhealable wounds. You’ve hurt her so many times, don’t selfishly hurt her again. Over and over it will leave her utterly disillusioned. I hope you can leave a glimmer of warmth for my mother, don’t hurt her to the core, because then I’ll hate you for a lifetime. I don’t ask for much, all I want now is for you not to disturb our lives anymore. She’s made her decision to live overseas; let her start her new life abroad. Don’t get involved in her life anymore, it’s only fair to her.”

Zhang Zhentian never thought his son would say such things to him. Did he really have to give up the woman he loved the most? Although he said he didn’t love her anymore, his heart couldn’t forget her, and her shadow still loomed in his mind all the time. How could he easily give up? True love can’t be given up so easily, can it?

”Dad, there’s no need to say anything more. Once a decision is made, it’s final; there’s no room for turning back. Since you’ve made your choice, I hope you won’t regret it because every time, it’ll only bring more hurt to our mother. Allowing her to live out the rest of her life peacefully is the best outcome. You should also live the life you want. My mother has already left you, as you wished. In this lifetime, neither of you should disturb the other. We owe nothing to each other, let’s both be well.”

Having said this to Zhang Zhentian, Zhang Yichen hung up the phone. He knew his father’s heart still couldn’t forget his mother, but he couldn’t alter the outcome...
