My Alleged Husband

Chapter 421: Chapter 400 I Understand!_1

Zhang Ni listened carefully to every word Old Master Zhang said to him this time, feeling these words were true. It seemed he really was a foolish boy. He had only seen other children with their grandparents by their side but had never noticed the absence of their parents. Perhaps, as his grandfather had said, their parents weren’t around and only the grandparents were there to accompany them. Compared to them, he was much more fortunate. Not only did he have his parents’ company, but also his uncles and the love of his great-grandfather. For him, that was enough!

”Great-grandfather, I understand now. I know now what I should do. People shouldn’t ask for too much. Just having my parents by my side is the greatest happiness in life. I shouldn’t be greedy and wish for more than that. Everyone chooses different paths in life, leading to different outcomes. I shouldn’t be so greedy to expect everyone to be by my side because such wishes are impossible to fulfill. Being too greedy won’t lead to any good outcomes. I believe as long as I keep good intentions, society will one day return my smile. Having my parents by my side is enough for me. I won’t be like I was before, wishing for everyone’s company, because that’s something that can never be achieved. Although my grandparents chose not to be by my side, they will surely regret it. I will prove through my actions that I’m the best child in this world. I’ll declare to everyone that I am the master of this world. I won’t let anyone look down on me. On the contrary, those who only have their grandparents should be the ones who are truly suffering. Their parents chose not to be with them, and they might have to live alone for the rest of their lives, possibly never seeing their parents again. But I’m different. I have my parents’ perpetual company, making us the closest throughout our lives. Maybe one day, if my grandparents decide to come back home, I might feel alienated because they never chose to be with me. In their eyes, I’m just an insignificant child. No matter what I do, I’ll never receive their approval. To them, I’m just a burden to my parents. But they will never know how much of a shock I’ll bring to them in the future. I’ll make them all understand that abandoning me was a regrettable mistake. If they could abandon me, let my growth be fierce in return. I’m thankful for their abandonment because without it, I wouldn’t have learned so much. I wouldn’t have understood how much my parents love me. I wouldn’t have realized how cruel this world can be!”

”Child, with just a few simple words from your grandfather, you’ve understood so much. In grandpa’s eyes, you’re already an amazing child. However, grandpa still hopes you understand that you should never harbor hatred. If you fill your heart with hatred and face the world with it, your life will be utterly painful, and only by smiling at society can you see how much sunshine and rainbows are actually out there. If you always confront the world with hatred, then no one will give you any good in return, and your life will only be filled with pain. Do you really want to live in agony all your life?”

”Grandpa, I’ve understood. I understand that not everyone in this world should be so greedy. The paths people choose are significant, and the outcomes are indeed different. This serves as a warning from history. I know that once upon a time, my grandparents abandoned my father for their freedom, and my father, to prove to his parents that he wasn’t a fallen child, ended up showing them that he was the strongest person in the world. He made his parents regret their abandonment, but as time went on, his pain didn’t subside; instead, it grew worse since my grandparents chose to abandon him again. I couldn’t believe my grandparents could be so heartless. This time, they didn’t just abandon my parents but also you, and even more so, me. I shouldn’t keep asking my parents where my grandparents are every day because it causes them immense pain. They, too, wish my grandparents could be with us, but my grandparents have left and do not wish to be part of our lives. It’s already painful enough for my parents, and constantly questioning their whereabouts only adds to it. I should be more understanding and not make my parents suffer even more. My parents love me so much; although I can’t do much for them, the best repayment I can now offer is to stop mentioning my grandparents in front of them. I’m going to prove that my grandparents’ abandonment was a mistake, just as my father proved to his parents. I will make everyone understand that even if anyone can abandon you, that bond of affection can never be thrown away because you can’t buy true love with all the wealth in the world!”

Old Master Zhang never imagined that such a young child, with just a few simple pointers from him, could understand so much. Many people see him, but why doesn’t his own son possess such wisdom? Could it be that his genes aren’t up to par? Did he raise his son to be a fool? Issues that two children could understand, yet his son, at his age, still couldn’t grasp. He doesn’t know when these days will end, but fortunately, the little one now understands these principles.
