My Alleged Husband

Chapter 436: Chapter 415: Missing a Partner_1

”No matter what, I still hope you can relay to your mother everything I said. I believe she’ll understand what they mean. She won’t ever forget the things she’s done in her life. She should know it’s time to step forward and take responsibility, not keep shifting the blame onto others each time. I’ve been the scapegoat for far too many of her actions, and now, nor ever again, will I bother you. I feel like there’s nothing left for us to talk about. As your son, I’m dispensable to you, and as your father, I ceased to hold any place in your heart long ago. You only believe every word your mother says, even if it’s a lie. Yet, even when I speak the utter truth, you’re unwilling to believe a word your own father says! I’m not afraid you won’t believe me, and if you really don’t believe what I say, you can go back and ask your mother directly. Observe her reaction. If her reaction is too extreme or too indifferent, then it proves I’m telling the big truth! Sometimes, even I understand that revealing such truths can hurt and be unacceptable to both parties, but should some matters be suppressed forever? The truth will eventually come to light!”

”I know. I’ll go back and pass on each word you’ve said to my mother. I also hope you’ll never bother us again. I hope that you keep to every word you’ve said. Since you’ve decided to give up on my mother, you shouldn’t seek to see or contact her anymore. You both would be better off changing your phone numbers. Keeping anything related to each other will only bring more internal pain and prevent joyful living,” Zhang Yichen said, hoping his father would keep his word.”

”You just need to relay what I said to your mother. Don’t worry about us—you don’t need to trouble yourself with the redundant affairs of our marriage. Sometimes you just need to pass on a message, and that’s enough. Don’t meddle too much. You should know what kind of person your mother is, and one day, you’ll see her true colors. I hope you don’t have too many regrets by then, as the pain and blow might be unbearable. I can only hope that within my lifetime I will see my grandchild again. I wish I could return to my father’s side and dutifully serve him. I know he never wants to see his unfilial son again, but in the end, I am still his own flesh and blood—how could he discard me just like that? Despite his heart being void of my presence, he remains forever my father in mine!”

”If you want to visit Grandpa, then go see him. He truly misses you. Despite not saying it out loud, it’s clear that he longs for you, and that’s why he keeps falling ill. Each time, I worry that his body simply can’t bear it. Hearing that you’ve agreed to visit Grandpa pleases me greatly. If your visit can prevent him from falling ill, that would make me happiest. All I want is for Grandpa to live a joyous and carefree life, to enjoy the simple pleasures of family. He’s had a hard and toilsome life, always considering the future generations, never once asking for what he truly wanted. Sometimes I despise myself for not having the ability to keep Grandpa by my side forever. It’s clear that every decision comes with a cost, and Grandpa has paid dearly with his sweat and toil to nurture me into someone worthwhile. Yet in the end, I couldn’t give him the happy family life he deserved because our parents weren’t around. No matter how much I pleaded, they were unwilling to return. They never saw Grandpa and me as anything special. I don’t understand what my parents think, to be able to abandon their own blood repeatedly. If they were willing to cast me aside so soon after birth, then why bring me into this world to suffer? Was it just to carry on the family lineage? Seems I’ve said too much. Never mind, I should be going now. I will pass on your message, but you’d better talk to him yourself, to prevent anyone from thinking I’m stirring trouble between the two of you,”

When Zhang Yichen returned home, Zhang Ni came running over and said to him, ”Daddy, I want a brother or sister. When will you and Mommy have one for me? It’s too lonely playing by myself in this house, and I don’t want to face life’s journey without a companion. I know you can’t depend on anyone else, the only reliable thing is our blood connection. I really want to have a brother or sister to play with, to watch them grow up. I’ll take good care of them and make sure they grow up healthy and chubby!”

Zhang Yichen and Ran Zhihan had never expected their child to say such things. He wanted a sibling? Who could have taught him that? How could a child understand so much? Could his wisdom really be beyond the ordinary? A five-year-old child understanding adult matters was simply inconceivable. Had he seen someone else’s book?

”You want a little brother or sister? When Mommy and Daddy have more time, we’ll consider having another baby, okay? Right now, the most important thing is for you to study hard. You must show everyone who looks down on you that they are making the biggest mistake by underestimating you. Let them understand that abandoning you is the one error they can never make right in their lifetime, understand?”
