My Alleged Husband

Chapter 96: Chapter 90 Are You Doing This on Purpose?_2

Li Jiayuan smiled and whispered to Zhang Zhentian, ”That’s right, I did it on purpose. Do you really want to ruin the dream wedding my sister has always longed for right here? Do you know why I did this? It’s because only by doing so can I deal with you openly and legitimately!”

Li Jiayuan finished speaking and flicked her hair. She walked up to the stage, took the microphone from the emcee’s phone, turned to face all the guests, and said, ”Dear relatives and friends, first of all, I am very grateful that you could attend the wedding of my sister, Xia Jing, and my brother-in-law, Zhang Zhentian, today. Here, I would like to thank everyone on behalf of my sister and my brother-in-law!”

Li Jiayuan bowed deeply to everyone, stood up, and continued, ”I have carefully prepared a segment for my sister and brother-in-law, and I hope everyone can give us your support! Next, I have a few questions I would like to ask our groom! If everyone finds the groom’s answers satisfactory, then we can let him take the bride to exchange rings and enter the bridal chamber, how about that?”

”Okay!” Everyone answered in unison.

”Then let’s get started. First, I would like to ask our groom, do you think the bride looks beautiful today?”

Zhang Zhentian was very embarrassed, but in order to successfully marry Xia Jing and take her home, he really made an effort, ”Beautiful!”

”How beautiful?”

”She is the most beautiful woman in my heart!”

”Did the groom answer this question correctly?” Li Jiayuan asked loudly.

”Yes!” People were really supportive. Xia Jing watched Zhang Zhentian and Li Jiayuan on stage and now understood the purpose of Xiao Wei and Li Jiayuan today.

”The second question, I would like to ask the groom, who will do all the household chores at home in the future?”

Zhang Zhentian really wanted to answer that they would do it together, but just in case, he said to Li Jiayuan, ”I’ll take care of all household chores in the future!”

”The third question, what will you do if you have disagreements over certain issues in the future?”

Xia Jing awaited Zhang Zhentian’s reply. She was also very curious about what his answer would be.

One second, two seconds, three seconds...

”Why isn’t the groom speaking? Could it be that you don’t know how to answer?” Li Jiayuan deliberately said, causing all eyes to turn to Zhang Zhentian following her words.

Old Master Zhang watched his son from below and felt anxious on behalf of Zhang Zhentian. Just as he was about to stand up to alleviate the awkward atmosphere, Zhang Zhentian spoke, saying emotionally to everyone, ”I have reflected on the past events. Every time we argued in the past, it was Xia Jing who forgave me. I want to say thank you to her. From now on, I will not argue with her. Even if we do have a minor quarrel occasionally, I will apologize first, and I will never let her be sad because of me!”

No one expected Zhang Zhentian to speak so openly and sincerely. Such an attitude is rare nowadays. As he finished speaking, the audience erupted into warm applause.

Xia Jing was already overwhelmingly touched. Li Jiayuan then asked, ”Are you all satisfied with the groom’s answers?”

”Satisfied!”

”Very well, let’s now welcome the bride with the warmest applause, and invite the groom and the bride to exchange rings, to be of one heart forever, and to have a happy marriage! Honestly speaking, Li Jiayuan’s eloquence is truly remarkable, and she speaks in a very organized manner.”

Zhang Zhentian took Xia Jing’s hand from Xiao Wei and slowly slid the ring onto her ring finger, and Xia Jing did the same to Zhang Zhentian.

”And now for the last segment, let’s welcome the father of the groom to the stage with applause; he is the Chairman of Zhang Corporation, Mr. Zhang Mo, to offer blessings to the newlyweds!”

”I am very grateful to each and every one of you here today. Among you are my business partners, old friends of many years, and even passers-by. Regardless, I thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend the wedding banquet of my son, Zhang Zhentian, and my daughter-in-law, Xia Jing. Secondly, I want to say a few words to my son and daughter-in-law: now that you are married, you are adults. Think before you act, don’t be willful when you encounter difficulties, discuss with each other, and solve them together. I give you eight characters—’United as a couple, you can cut through metal.’ Thank you, everyone!”

”Thank you, Mr. Zhang, for your speech. The most exciting moment has arrived, and now the groom can take the bride home to prepare for entering the bridal chamber!” Li Jiayuan exclaimed excitedly into the microphone, ”Let’s give this couple our blessings with the warmest applause!”

After the wedding banquet, Old Master Zhang, Zhang Zhentian, and Xia Jingyi returned to the Zhang family home together.

”Uncle, you must be tired today. I will cook for you!” Xia Jing said.

”Eh, why are you still calling me uncle? Shouldn’t you change how you address me?” Old Master Zhang looked at Xia Jing with a joking smile.

Xia Jing shyly smiled at Old Master Zhang. She had always hoped that Old Master Zhang would become her father, but now that her dream had come true, she felt somewhat unaccustomed.

”Dad!” After a moment, Xia Jing finally called out ”Dad” for the first time in her life.

”Ah, you two must make sure to treat each other well in the future!” Old Master Zhang said earnestly to Xia Jing.

”I understand, Dad!”

The family happily gathered, but on the side, Li Jiayuan said to Xiao Wei, ”I thought we would get married before Zhang Zhentian and my sister. Now it seems impossible. Xiao Wei, when will we get married?”

”Jiayuan, have you really made up your mind about being with me? I don’t want you to regret it in the future!”

”No regrets, no complaints!”
