My Alleged Husband

Chapter 55: Chapter 53 Meeting with Li Jiayuan_2

Aunt Xu felt that what Xia Jing said made a lot of sense, and she couldn’t oppose her anymore, so she let Xia Jing leave.

After Xia Jing took the car back, Aunt Xu went to sleep.

An hour later.

Ding Dong Ding Dong...Zhentian’s phone rang. He checked his phone and saw a message from Xia Jing. He tapped into it and saw her message: ”Zhentian, have you gone to bed yet?”

Zhentian was originally watching the news, but when he saw Xia Jing’s message, he immediately threw the remote to the side and started chatting with Xia Jing.

”Not yet, have you?” Zhentian replied to Xia Jing.

Xia Jing directly sent a message to Zhentian: ”Zhentian, about the matchmaking for Li Jiayuan and Xiao Wei that I talked about today, can you help me out? [Raising eyebrow/Raising eyebrow]”

”Well, Xia Jing, didn’t Dad say that he was leaving it to you? [Snicker/Snicker]”

”Don’t say it like that, Zhentian. You’re my boyfriend, shouldn’t you help me out?”

”Xia Jing, such a daunting task can only be accomplished by you!”

......

The two of them chatted back and forth all night long, and in the end, Xia Jing said to Zhentian: ”Zhentian, if you’re truly my boyfriend, you’ll help me with the matchmaking. If you don’t help me, you don’t consider me as your girlfriend, hmph!”

No sooner had Xia Jing sent this message to Zhentian than he replied.

”Alright, alright, I’ll help you, okay? You’re so hard to handle!” As soon as Zhentian saw the message that Xia Jing had sent, he knew that her patience was almost worn out by him; if he didn’t agree to help her, Xia Jing would really get angry.

Zhentian was truly afraid of Xia Jing. When Xia Jing got angry, she would either leave the country or ignore him. He remembered how many cold shoulders he had faced when Xia Jing was upset, and even now, he could hardly believe that he had managed to endure it all.

Knowing that Zhentian had agreed to help matchmake Li Jiayuan and Xiao Wei, Xia Jing happily sent a message to Zhentian, then sent a message to Jiayuan to tell her she would come to see her the next day. After waiting for Jiayuan to reply, Xia Jing threw her phone aside, closed her eyes, pulled the covers over, and fell asleep.

Zhentian waited and waited, but when no more messages from Xia Jing came through, he figured she must have fallen asleep. So, just like Xia Jing, he tossed his phone to the side, closed his eyes, and covered himself with a blanket before falling asleep.

The next day.

Both Xia Jing and Zhentian were still not awake, and Jiayuan called Xia Jing over and over, but Xia Jing didn’t answer. Jiayuan was nearly fuming and decided to call again later.

A quarter of an hour later, Xia Jing groggily opened her eyes, and when she checked her phone, it was filled with calls from Jiayuan. She flipped through the log and was shocked by the call record; Jiayuan had called Xia Jing eighty times, but because Xia Jing’s phone was on silent, she hadn’t heard any of the calls.

She quickly returned the call to Jiayuan.

”Miss, you’ve finally returned my call. Do you see how many times I’ve called you? What were you doing last night?” Jiayuan sighed and interrogated Xia Jing.

Xia Jing felt a bit embarrassed as she told Jiayuan, ”I didn’t do anything special last night, just went to bed a bit late. It’s still early now, no rush.”

Jiayuan got quite irritated when she heard Xia Jing’s words and suddenly raised her voice, ”Look at the time now, and you’re still saying ’early’?”

Xia Jing lit up her phone screen to check the time and was so surprised she couldn’t even speak. It was already two o’clock in the afternoon.

”I had drawn the curtains last night, so I thought it was still night...” Xia Jing felt extremely awkward.

Jiayuan didn’t know what to say about Xia Jing’s excuse. She just told Xia Jing, ”You ask me to meet up and then make me wait for you? Do you think that’s okay, Xia Jing?”

Shamelessly, Xia Jing said, ”It’s fine. I know you don’t mind. You’re my good sister now, and besides, I’m meeting with you today for your lifelong happiness. You should be willing to wait for me, right?”

Hearing Xia Jing’s words, Jiayuan felt a bit excited, ”Alright then, since you want to talk about my lifelong matter, I’ll wait for you a bit more begrudgingly. I’ll give you an hour, meet me at the Star Coffee Shop!”

After saying this, Jiayuan hung up the phone.

Xia Jing heard the beep on the phone and let out a long sigh.

After freshening up, she tried to call Zhentian, but he didn’t answer. Zhentian had also drawn the curtains before going to bed, and although his phone was blaring beside him, Zhentian thought it was the alarm and turned it off without even opening his eyes.

When Xia Jing couldn’t get through to Zhentian, she thought: I’ll let him sleep a little longer.

Xia Jing grabbed her purse and left to meet Jiayuan. As she was about to greet Jiayuan, Jiayuan spoke first: ”Madam, you finally show up!”

”Sorry for making you wait.”

”No problem, tell me, what about my lifelong matter?”

”Jiayuan, I know you like Xiao Wei, and I tell you that Xiao Wei likes you too, but...” Xia Jing told Jiayuan.

”But what? Tell me quickly.” Jiayuan eagerly grasped Xia Jing’s hand.

”Xiao Wei thinks he doesn’t deserve you. He cut off his own arm because he failed to kill you, then reattached it, but he feels unworthy to be with you because he had his arm severed one time.” Xia Jing spoke frankly. Hearing this, Jiayuan started to cry softly; she never thought that the man she had been yearning for also had feelings for her.

”Tell him I don’t mind. I just want to be by his side forever. Can you help me convince him to meet me?”

”I’ll try!”

”Thank you, Xia Jing.”

Jiayuan cried even harder, and Xia Jing knew it was because Jiayuan was touched to discover that the man she loved felt the same way!
