My Alleged Husband

Chapter 91: Chapter 88 Where is Our Wedding Date_1

Xia Jing left the hospital and went to drink alone, drowning her sorrows in alcohol. She dearly wished to marry Zhang Zhentian, but Old Master Zhang had yet to bring up the matter, and she felt it wasn’t her place to mention it, after all, she was still a woman!

”Can’t find a reason to embrace...” Xia Jing’s phone ringtone started playing; she was now completely drunk. She fumbled for her phone, not even bothering to check who was calling. Even if she did look, she probably wouldn’t be able to see clearly! She answered, ”Hello, who is this? Why are you calling me?”

Zhang Zhentian, upon hearing Xia Jing’s tone, asked unhappily, ”Xia Jing, have you been drinking again? Can’t you even recognize my voice? Where are you? Send me the address, I’ll come find you!”

”You’re coming to find me? Who are you anyway? What right do you have to come looking for me?” Xia Jing was already in a bad mood, and the alcohol meant she spoke without thinking, blurting out whatever came to mind.

”Who am I? I’m your fiancé, who do you think I am?” Zhang Zhentian was on the verge of anger!

”My fiancé? Since when did I have a fiancé?” Xia Jing was so drunk, she had even forgotten her own fiancé.

”What did you say? Say that again!” Zhang Zhentian could have managed to keep his temper in check, but when he heard Xia Jing claim she didn’t have a fiancé, he lost all patience!

Xia Jing didn’t want to hear Zhang Zhentian going on about things she couldn’t understand, so she simply hung up the phone. Zhang Zhentian was so angry he nearly threw his phone away. After calming down a bit, he suddenly had an epiphany and figured out where Xia Jing was. He drove to the bar, and sure enough, he found Xia Jing there.

He quickly walked up to Xia Jing, ”Xia Jing, stop drinking. What’s upset you to drink like this? How can you be a daughter-in-law of the Zhang Family if you carry on like this?”

Xia Jing... already in a foul mood, felt even worse hearing this. Not realizing the man in front of her was Zhang Zhentian, she slapped him and yelled, ”Who do you think you are? Don’t you talk to me about being a bride of the Zhang family. I’ll tell you a secret, you know what? The daughter of Li Haixiao from Li Corporation, Li Jiayuan, is about to get married. I’m not jealous of her, I just can’t accept it. Why should I, engaged before her, get married after her? Why is that?”

Zhang Zhentian finally understood it was because of this that Xia Jing was drinking so heavily!

”So, where’s your fiancé?” Zhang Zhentian probed.

”Ha, my fiancé? Don’t talk to me about this man. I know he has given up a lot, a lot for me, but I’ve also given up a lot for him. Why can’t he just talk to his father about wanting to get married sooner? Why is this?” As Xia Jing heard the word ”fiancé,” she scoffed and spoke her heart to Zhang Zhentian.

”Perhaps he hesitated to speak up about it because he can’t let go of his pride,” Zhang Zhentian defended himself in front of Xia Jing, hoping for her understanding, but the result was...

”Right, maybe to him, his pride is still more important than his girlfriend. I don’t know who you are, but I still want to say ’thank you.’ It feels much better to get this off my chest. Sorry about just now, it was my attitude that was wrong, which is why I slapped you. Please don’t take it to heart!” After speaking to Zhang Zhentian, Xia Jing planned to leave.

Xia Jing returned to her seat to continue drinking the burning liquor, thinking that if she got drunk enough, her mind wouldn’t dwell on these unhappy thoughts.

Zhang Zhentian stood by, watching Xia Jing down one glass after another, and couldn’t help but think: Could it really be his fault? In his heart, what was more important—his pride, or Xia Jing?

Xia Jing sat drinking non-stop, and Zhang Zhentian eventually walked over to her and said, ”Xia Jing, stop drinking!”

Whenever someone tried to stop her from drinking, Xia Jing would become irate, ready to lash out with her words.
