My Alleged Husband

Chapter 75: Chapter 73 I Don’t Like Crybaby Girls_1

Li Jiayuan was incredibly moved when Xiao Wei asked her to meet up. She couldn’t believe how quickly things had developed between them; it seemed only yesterday that Xiao Wei had come to assassinate her. And now, not only could they hold hands, but her father had also agreed to let her be with Xiao Wei forever. She was overjoyed!

An hour later, Stardust Legend.

As Li Jiayuan stepped through the door, music began to play. She followed the melody, stepping toward her destination. A waiter approached with a rose in hand and said, ”Miss Li, this is your rose!”

Li Jiayuan took the rose from the waiter, smelled it, and said, ”Wow, it smells wonderful, thank you!”

When Li Jiayuan entered the elevator, she noticed that all the floors had already been selected. With a smile, she rode the elevator up, floor by floor, receiving a rose from the staff each time the doors opened. Finally, when she reached the top floor, she saw a familiar silhouette standing in the distance. Step by step, she walked toward the man she loved; she felt like a princess in a fairy tale, wearing glass slippers and holding many roses. When she reached Xiao Wei, he gently turned around, handed her a large bouquet of roses with a card attached. Li Jiayuan accepted the flowers, looked at the card, and a glistening tear instantly fell. She dropped the roses and embraced Xiao Wei; she had never imagined that Xiao Wei could be so romantic.

Written on the card was: ”Will you spend your lifetime with me?”

Indeed, who wouldn’t be moved in such a situation? When Li Jiayuan hugged him, Xiao Wei’s body stiffened, and a voice inside him kept shouting: ”Hold her, hold her...”

Xiao Wei then cupped Li Jiayuan’s head in his hands and planted a deep kiss on her lips.

Li Jiayuan passionately responded to Xiao Wei, and the two shared an emotional kiss at the rooftop entrance.

When Xiao Wei let go of Li Jiayuan, she was gasping for breath, kissed breathless; with flushed cheeks, she said to Xiao Wei, ”Let’s go, let’s go out to eat!”

”Why go out? We can eat here too. Let’s just eat at Stardust Legend!” Xiao Wei didn’t understand why Li Jiayuan wanted to eat out when they could dine right there.

”Xiao Wei, I think we should eat out; eating here feels like such a waste!” Li Jiayuan said with an embarrassed chuckle.

Hearing this, Xiao Wei looked at Li Jiayuan with an amused yet helpless gaze, knowing full well that she didn’t want him to spend the money, but to Xiao Wei, nothing was more important than Li Jiayuan.

”Jiayuan, I know you’re thinking of me, afraid that I’ll waste money. But in my heart, I believe nothing could be more important than you. I’m willing to spend money on you. Besides, lost money can be earned back, but if my girlfriend is gone, then everything is lost!”

Li Jiayuan couldn’t help but burst out laughing. She replied, ”Xiao Wei, I didn’t know you were such a smooth talker. Have you charmed other girls before?”

”Of course, I used to be quite lucky with the ladies; there was always a girl throwing herself at me wherever I went!” Xiao Wei knew what Li Jiayuan meant and purposely teased her with his response.

Hearing this made Li Jiayuan instantly unhappy: ”I see, so that’s how it is. I thought you only ever said those words to me. It turns out you’ve said them before. Don’t tell me today’s words are the result of practice makes perfect?”

Upon hearing Li Jiayuan’s comment, Xiao Wei hurriedly fell silent as he saw her eyes and nose beginning to redden, and tears circulating in her eyes. Knowing that if he continued to tease her, she might just start crying, which could lead to trouble!

”Alright, silly girl, do you really believe that? Haven’t you thought about it? I’ve always been with the Mercenary Group; where would I have had the chance for romance? I haven’t practiced these words; I’ve only ever said them to you!” Xiao Wei said helplessly, caressing her hair.

Li Jiayuan had been holding back her tears, but as soon as Xiao Wei spoke like that, she burst into tears. Xiao Wei was stunned; he hadn’t said anything wrong, so why was she still crying?

Xiao Wei asked, ”Jiayuan, why are you crying? I didn’t say anything!”

”Who told you that I’m crying because I’m unhappy?” Li Jiayuan said with a dejected face.

Xiao Wei was even more confused now. If it wasn’t something he said that made her unhappy and cry, then what was it that made her cry?

”Ahem, Jiayuan, then you tell me, what made you cry?” Xiao Wei curiously looked at Li Jiayuan.

”It’s because I was moved by what you said, and I just couldn’t help crying...”

Xiao Wei’s eyes widened. Although he had heard that Li Jiayuan was quite prone to crying, he had not expected her to cry so easily. There was Li Jiayuan, crying non-stop, and Xiao Wei really had no choice but to listen to her crying here. He tried to console her, but to no avail, so he bluntly said, ”I don’t like girls who cry all the time. It feels really annoying to deal with tears every day. In my whole life, I’m not going to marry someone who loves to cry as a wife!”

Xiao Wei’s words were indeed quite effective. As soon as he finished speaking, Li Jiayuan stopped crying. Li Jiayuan stared blankly at Xiao Wei; upon hearing what Xiao Wei had said, she had forgotten how to react.

Xiao Wei looked at the silly Li Jiayuan, thinking to himself: I didn’t expect this tactic to work so well. Let’s see if you’ll cry again in the future.

Xiao Wei was internally overjoyed. In fact, he didn’t want to upset Li Jiayuan like this, but he had been unable to stand girls who cried easily since he was young, so there was no choice. Jiayuan, the one prone to tears, would no longer have the luxury to cry!

Xiao Wei had only meant to scare Li Jiayuan, but how could he know that it was precisely because of his words that Li Jiayuan, no matter how badly hurt she was or even if the pain was so severe that she couldn’t breathe, would bite her tongue and persevere, preferring to die of pain rather than shed a single tear—of course, that’s a story for another time!

”Alas, I just don’t know when my dad will agree to let us officially be together!” Li Jiayuan sighed and said to Xiao Wei.

Upon hearing Li Jiayuan say this, Xiao Wei suddenly remembered; he hadn’t told Li Jiayuan that her father had already agreed to their relationship!

”Jiayuan, there’s something I forgot to tell you!” Xiao Wei spoke softly.

Li Jiayuan had a bad feeling in her heart. She cautiously asked Xiao Wei, ”Is it that you really had a girlfriend before? Or what?”

Xiao Wei was really astounded by Li Jiayuan’s imagination. He said, ”No, what I meant to say is that your dad has already agreed to our relationship, and I’ve even met with him!”

”Really?”

”Really!”

”Oh yeah! That’s awesome, so great!” Li Jiayuan was ecstatic, almost going crazy with joy. Seeing her so happy, Xiao Wei also felt happy inside. This must be the shared emotions between couples, right?

Li Jiayuan jumped for joy, and Xiao Wei just stood and watched her happy smile. At that moment, he felt very content.
