My Alleged Husband

Chapter 94: Chapter 89: Wedding in the Dream_2

Zhang Zhentian, upon hearing that Old Master Zhang’s question was not the usual sort about children, instantly beamed with joy. He felt he and Xia Jing hadn’t had enough of their world for two yet, so how could they just start having kids right after marrying? Wouldn’t that be digging his own grave?

”Let’s have it at Stardust Legend!” Zhang Zhentian said and walked away. Old Master Zhang seemed like he wanted to shout to stop Zhang Zhentian, then tell him that wasn’t the question he meant to ask, but he felt he didn’t have the guts to do it...

Time flew by quickly, and soon it was the day of Zhang Zhentian and Xia Jing’s wedding. Xia Jing was dressed in a pristine white wedding gown, bouquet in hand, looking as beautiful as Snow White from a fairy tale, while Zhang Zhentian was in an all-white wedding suit with a bowtie, standing at the other end of the red carpet waiting for his bride.

Everyone was curious about how Xia Jing would look in her wedding dress, and before she arrived, there was a lot of discussions. Everyone wanted a sneak peek at Old Master Zhang’s daughter-in-law who came from a mercenary background.

As Xia Jing moved slowly to the rhythm of the music, lightly stepping towards her Prince at the far end of the aisle, all eyes turned to her. Among the guests attending Xia Jing and Zhang Zhentian’s wedding, some were genuinely there to bless them, some for the spectacle, and others to watch the couple’s embarrassment; many among them were not there to wish well but to scrutinize Xia Jing’s appearance, for there were numerous daughters of wealthy families fond of Zhang Zhentian, and he had not taken a liking to any.

Zhang Zhentian’s wedding was exactly such a scene, the envious ones said, ”I thought this Xia Jing who won over Zhang Zhentian would be strikingly beautiful, but she looks just like any of us...” Those blessing the couple said, ”Your bride is gorgeous, you must cherish her well...”

...

Different people, different mindsets; different mindsets, different viewpoints; different viewpoints, different comments.

Zhang Zhentian, looking at those who gossiped, had to restrain himself several times from confronting and giving them a piece of his mind, each time held back by Xia Jing who said it wasn’t good to kick up a fuss on their wedding day. Thus, Zhang Zhentian could only hold back; with Xia Jing saying so, what more could he say? He had no choice but to comply, didn’t he?

Zhang Zhentian was actually standing up for Xia Jing, unwilling to let anyone disrespect his wife with careless words, as he was a man with a strong sense of possession.

”Now, let’s welcome our protagonists with the warmest applause to give a speech!” The host addressed the crowd.

Rapturous applause instantly filled the air, and Zhang Zhentian enveloped Xia Jing’s hand with his warm one, leading her to the stage. All eyes focused on Xia Jing, with Li Jiayuan and Xiao Wei standing aside watching the wedding, feeling happy for Xia Jing and Zhang Zhentian. They were genuinely happy for them because they knew better than anyone else the hardships the couple had endured together.

”Thank you for your support. Now let’s officially start with today’s theme,” the host said to the audience, ”Handsome groom, are you willing to take the beautiful girl before you as your wife? To love each other through thick and thin, through wealth and poverty, health and sickness. Are you willing to care for her for a lifetime, through all eternity? Are you willing?”

Zhang Zhentian picked up the microphone, turned toward everyone, and announced loudly, ”I am willing. No matter what difficulties we encounter in this lifetime, I will be by her side. Whatever the future may hold, I will love only her, care for her, protect her for a lifetime, never to part!”

Wooh...

Screams pierced the air below. Xia Jing felt as though she was living in a dream. She had never imagined Zhang Zhentian would declare his love for her in front of everyone. If she had known that Zhang Zhentian would say such words to her at their wedding, then what more could she ask for in a formal proposal?

”Now let’s turn to our beautiful bride! Bride, are you willing to marry the man before you? In poverty and wealth, sickness and health, are you willing to stand by the groom’s side for a lifetime, through all eternity? Are you willing?”

With tears streaming down her face, Xia Jing said to Zhang Zhentian, ”I am willing. No matter what problems we encounter or what happens in life, I will stand by his side, for a lifetime, never to part. I will honor and accompany him until we’re old!”

”Now the groom may kiss the bride!” the host announced, and immediately the crowd below started to egg them on.

”Kiss... Kiss...”

Xia Jing suddenly felt so embarrassed; they had never kissed in front of so many people before. But now, it seemed there was no backing out; a kiss was necessary.

”Xia Jing, you look so beautiful today. Shouldn’t you take the initiative? Kiss him!” Li Jiayuan teased from the side, taking this opportunity to tease Xia Jing, for she rarely had the guts to be so bold normally, so...

Zhang Zhentian, seeing Xia Jing becoming more and more embarrassed, didn’t want to make her feel even more awkward. He touched her face with his hands and deeply kissed her!
