Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 533: Chapter 32: The Gluttonous Wolf Mink

Chen Wen was holding a can, eating bear fat and bear intestines in large mouthfuls.

Even though there were no seasonings, he still found it quite tasty.

After all, it was innards, the fishy smell wasn’t too strong.

Besides, he hadn’t eaten anything good for quite some time.

A hearty meal not only provided Chen Wen with ample energy, but also offered him a bear’s entry.

[Raid on natural creation—the American black bear, commence!]

[Raiding... Raiding complete!]

[Please choose one from the following three entries]

[Note: Dragon Subduing Tiger Palm!—American black bear]

[Make a choice or give up within one minute! Failing to do so will automatically select the first entry!]

The two positive bear entries were indeed quite good.

He even unlocked a comparatively rare organ entry, but Chen Wen decisively chose [Big stomach, no need to say more].

The effects of this entry were exceptionally comprehensive.

Increased appetite, improved digestion ability, reduced chances of digestion-related diseases, and greater hunger resistance in cold temperatures.

Although there was a negative effect of easier hunger in high temperatures, compared to the positive effects of this entry.

It was completely acceptable.

Moreover, this entry could be regarded as an enhanced version of [Enhanced digestive ability].

Looks like his usual three basic needs will need a change in future survival.

After selecting the entry, Chen Wen set down the can, planning to tidy up the shelter a bit before resting.

But just then, Chen Wen suddenly detected a very pungent smell.

At the same time, a wave of anger surged in his heart.

Something had come again!

Chen Wen’s heart tightened, he raised his head sharply, his pupils had already turned golden.

With enhanced vision, smell, and hearing working together.

Chen Wen quickly pinpointed the position of the approaching thing.

In front of him in the forest, approximately thirty meters away, behind a bush!

Chen Wen picked up an axe, based on the size of the bush, he determined that the incoming thing wasn’t big.

Moreover, from the pungent urine stench emanating from it.

This fellow should be a wolf mink.

As if confirming Chen Wen’s suspicion.

The bush rustled, and a strange-looking small beast emerged from the thicket.

This creature had a round head and a puffy, dense coat of brown hair.

Its size wasn’t too large, just a tad larger than an average-sized native dog.

But its swaggering gait carried the aura of a cocky rogue, wobbling as it walked.

It was indeed a wolf mink, and a mature one at that.

In Chen Wen’s eyes, this wolf mink possessed another identity.

This was a special animal!

Its character trait was gluttony.

Good lord, gluttony as a character trait, exactly how much can this creature eat?

Chen Wen couldn’t help but wonder.

However, as the wolf mink approached, he instinctively turned off the recording device on his neck.

Over at the show’s production, the third monitor noticed the device anomaly and was about to report it.

Lin Jiawei, about to finish his shift, stopped him.

”The contestant turned it off himself.”

Lin Jiawei explained.

The third monitor was puzzled: ”Why?”

Lin Jiawei used the pre-discussed excuse with Chen Wen: ”Contestant Chen Wen possesses extraordinary beast taming abilities, so after discovering a tamable animal, he will turn off the recording device to prevent others from learning his skills. During the contract signing, I discussed this with the director and he agreed.”

Upon hearing this, the third monitor, somewhat suspicious, contacted Director Greg.

Only after receiving confirmation did he refrain from further comment.

However, the third monitor was now highly curious.

He had seen animals being tamed before.

Even lions and tigers.

But taming a wolf mink, especially a wild one, this was a first for him.

...

Back on Chen Wen’s side.

Upon seeing the wolf mink, he instantly had the intention to tame it.

Because the wolf mink’s combat power wasn’t weak and it was extremely troublesome.

In the natural world, it’s the kind that those who can beat it don’t want to fight it, and those who can’t beat it will either be eaten or have their food stolen.

Very annoying.

They possess stink glands on their body, able to secrete foul-smelling liquid like skunks.

Hence, when faced with large-sized animals like brown bears that they can’t beat.

They would secrete foul liquid, even urinate, then roll around in the liquid, making their body and fur reek.

As the saying goes.

A mop dipped in excrement, Lu Bu reincarnated.

A broom dipped in urine, Zhang Fei roared.

Such a rascal, most who can kill it would turn away upon smelling the stench.

And they themselves don’t have much meat, even at maximum weight barely reaching thirty kilograms.

Additionally, gluttony as a character trait makes it relatively easy to tame.

As long as its appetite is satisfied, one can easily gain a strong combat ally.

If successfully tamed, this wolf mink could even guard Chen Wen’s food.

After all, those who can beat it generally won’t steal food, and their movements are noticeable.

Those who can’t beat it would likely be dealt with or chased off.

This way, Chen Wen could rest assured.

Thus, after comprehensive consideration, Chen Wen slowly walked to the bear meat he hadn’t stored on the tree yet.

Using a hunting knife, he directly sliced off a piece of leg meat weighing about a little over a kilo, and moved directly in front of the wolf mink.

As the wolf mink stood still, estimating the odds of success this time.

Chen Wen asked: ”Hungry? Want some food?”

The wolf mink was taken aback, its eyes flickered with a newfound intelligence.

It shook its head, examining Chen Wen and the bear meat in his hand.

”What are you?”

The wolf mink asked curiously: ”Meat... Give it to me, and I’ll eat it!”

Chen Wen didn’t say much more, slicing the kilo of bear meat into two pieces, tossing them to the wolf mink.

The wolf mink instinctively dodged, but upon realizing it was meat.

It lunged at the bear meat like a dog chasing a frisbee, swiftly grabbing the meat with its mouth.

It placed it on the ground, tearing and chewing it effortlessly.

With half a kilo of raw meat in its belly, the wolf mink’s fondness for Chen Wen skyrocketed.

Right as it pondered asking more questions.

Chen Wen dangled the remaining half kilo of bear meat: ”Want more? I have plenty over here.”

Saying so, Chen Wen stepped aside, exposing the entire bear to the wolf mink.

The wolf mink was stunned.

But in the next instant, Chen Wen’s mind received system information.

[You’ve gained recognition from a friend, your friend has prepared a gift for you]

So simple...

As Chen Wen tossed out the bear meat, he couldn’t help but sigh.

If all special animals in this world shared a gluttonous trait.

He would undoubtedly be a global friend to the Druid.

Such a trait is virtually tailored for taming!

And the wolf mink, after consuming the second piece of meat Chen Wen threw, truly transformed into a puppy.

Quietly staying in front of Chen Wen, waiting for his next move.
